Kristin Cavallari is open to talking about anything or anyone – except this one person
In USA TODAY's The Essentials, celebrities share what fuels their lives, whether it's at home, on set, or on the road.
NEW YORK – Kristin Cavallari describes her life as "peaceful," something she's "worked really hard for." But maintaining that peace is the main reason why she has no interest in returning to reality television on a full-time basis.
"A reality show does not offer any peace whatsoever," Cavallari tells USA TODAY while promoting… well, a reality show.
The podcaster and business owner, 38, says her life isn't the right "recipe right now for a good reality show."
"Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour" (Wednesdays, 10 p.m. ET/9 CT, on E! and streaming on Peacock) gives her fans a behind-the-scenes look at the star's first ever live podcast tour.
"I don't think my life is actually that interesting," she says. "My day-to-day is pretty normal, pretty boring. (My) podcast tour was great; lent itself to great storyline. But I don't have that in my day-to-day life."
Kristin Cavallari reveals the one person she's done talking about
Kristin Cavallari chats with USA TODAY's Ralphie Aversa about her show "Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour" and the one topic that's off limits.
Kristen Cavallari explains how she deals with headlines, anxiety
Cavallari admits that since launching her podcast, "Let's Be Honest," she's the "most open I've ever been" when it comes to sharing her life with others. Over the past eight months, Cavallari has made headlines for topics ranging from a past fling with Glen Powell to her strained relationship with her father. Despite the recent news, the former "Laguna Beach" star says some of these "new" stories actually date back to over two decades ago.
"Some of the things that have popped up are so old, but I'm having to live them as though they just happened," she says. "Headlines have been a part of my life since I was 17 and I wish I had a better way of handling it. They still stress me out. They still give me anxiety."
Cavallari's coping mechanism is detachment, she says, and she does her best not to read headlines or comments on social media.
"What people are saying about me actually has nothing to do with me," she says. "I think when you can finally get that place and understand that, it's a really freeing thing. And I think that comes with maturity and age."
Cavallari has been dealing with headlines and pubic interest in personal life since she rose to fame in 2004 as a cast member of MTV's hit reality show "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County," followed by its spinoff "The Hills."
"My dating life has been the one thing that people have always really latched onto," Cavallari says, referencing "Laguna Beach" and her ex-boyfriend, Stephen Colletti. "I'm sure that's because I came into the world on reality TV with my boyfriend at the time, so people have felt like they're entitled to know what's going on in my dating life.
Cavallari says that when she separated from her ex-husband, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, it was initially hard to wrap her head around the idea that people were once again interested in her dating life.
Public debut for private Kristin Cavallari's kids
The series marks the on-camera debut for Cavallari's children: Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 9. She shares all three with Cutler.
"I want to keep my kids, kids," she continues. "Me putting them in a couple of scenes (of the show) does not change that."
This topic is off-limits for Kristin Cavallari
The podcast host says she's also keeping her life peaceful by focusing on what matters the most to her: family and friends. And the one topic she's done talking about is her ex-husband.
"I'm not going to talk about the legal stuff with their dad," Cavallari responds when asked about any conversations she had with Cutler regarding their kids' onscreen debut. The two married in 2013; Cavallari announced her split from Cutler on Instagram in April 2020.
"I would prefer not to talk about my ex, you know what I mean?" she continues. "It's been over five years. I kind of wish that everyone would just move on."
As for Cavallari's current dating life, that's not off-limits, although the Uncommon James founder doesn't have much to report on that front.
"I haven't dated at all this year," she reveals. "I did that intentionally leading up to the podcast tour. I didn't want any distractions. (Dating is) not on my priority list right now. Between work and my kids, I'm kind of maxed out."

Bel-Air Season 4: Release date speculation, cast updates and plot – Everything we know so far
Bel-Air isn't just a reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air —it's like someone cranked up the drama, turned down the laugh track, and dropped us right into a world that feels way too real. Since its Peacock debut in 2022, it's been pulling us in with sharp takes on race, class, and family, all while serving up powerhouse performances from a cast that knows exactly how to keep you glued to the screen. Season 3 left us all in shock—seriously, that finale had people texting friends in all caps. And now, with the fourth and final season on the horizon, the excitement is electric. Here's everything we know so far about Season 4. Bel-Air Season 4 Potential Release Date Peacock confirmed Season 4 in December 2024, but there's still no premiere date. The show usually ran like clockwork—February for Seasons 1 and 2, then August 2024 for Season 3—but this time it's taking a little longer. Cassandra Freeman (Vivian Banks) said filming starts late spring 2025, likely May. With post-production taking six to eight months, a late 2025 release seems likely—though if things slow down, early 2026 could be when we see it. Bel-Air Season 4 Expected Cast The cast makes Bel-Air shine, and most main characters should return to wrap things up. Based on Season 3's end and recent buzz, here's the lineup: Jabari Banks as Will Smith : Philly kid navigating Bel-Air's high society. Adrian Holmes as Philip Banks : The lawyer keeping the family steady. Cassandra Freeman as Vivian Banks : Dealing with a surprise pregnancy. Olly Sholotan as Carlton Banks : Rebuilding after addiction battles. Coco Jones as Hilary Banks : Caught in a messy love life after her fiancé's collapse. Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks : Stepping into her teen years with new romance. Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey Thompson : Linked to Will's kidnapping through his shady past. Jordan L. Jones as Jazz : Will's loyal pal with feelings for Hilary. Simone Joy Jones as Lisa Wilkes: Will's complicated love interest. Expect recurring faces like Karrueche Tran (Ivy), Marlon Wayans (Lou, Will's dad), April Parker Jones (Vy, Will's mom), Dulé Hill (Omar Campbell), Alycia Pascual-Peña (Amira), Vic Mensa (Quentin), and Jazlyn Martin (Jackie). Joseph Marcell's Roman, a Fresh Prince nod, might return, and more legacy cameos, like Daphne Maxwell Reid, could happen. Will Smith, an executive producer, stays behind the camera to let Jabari Banks take the spotlight. Bel-Air Season 4 Potential Plot Season 3's finale left jaws on the floor, setting up a crazy final season. Bel-Air tackles race, class, and family, and Season 4 will tie up loose ends. Here's what's coming: Will's Kidnapping and Geoffrey's Past Will's abduction ties to Geoffrey's sketchy London history. After skipping town to protect the Banks, Geoffrey might return to save Will, leading to intense drama and secrets spilling. Loyalty and redemption will be huge. Vivian's Pregnancy and Family Drama Vivian's unexpected pregnancy, a Fresh Prince throwback, shakes her marriage to Phil. Their rocky bond could heal or crack under the pressure. Her career-versus-mom life struggle will hit hard. Hilary's Love Mess Hilary's dream wedding to LaMarcus crashed when he collapsed. If he doesn't pull through, her spark with Jazz could flare up, stirring a fan-favorite love triangle. Tough choices and heartbreak are ahead. Carlton's Comeback Carlton's addiction journey has been intense. Season 4 should show him rebuilding, maybe bonding tighter with Will and growing his business with Amira. His arc could end on a high or take a dark turn. Ashley's Growth Ashley's coming-of-age arc continues as she explores romance with Eli and finds her voice. Her story will highlight her place in the family and the world. Showrunner Carla Banks Waddles teased 'emotional, shocking, and wild' moments, promising a dramatic close with plenty of heart. 'Parent Trap' reunion! Lindsay Lohan explains Elaine Hendrix's 'Freakier Friday' cameo
Elaine Hendrix has long proclaimed that her character in 'The Parent Trap' is not the villain of the 1998 movie, and now Lindsay Lohan is weighing in. Lohan, 39, played dual roles in Disney's remake, starring as twins Hallie and Annie, who were separated when their parents, Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid) and Elizabeth James (Natasha Richardson), divorced. Elizabeth raised Annie in London, while Hallie had her run of Nick's vineyard in Napa. A chance meeting at summer camp reunited the twins, and they switched places in hopes of bringing their parents back together. But the duo ran into a little problem when they learned that Nick was engaged to Meredith Blake (Hendrix), a 26-year-old PR powerhouse. Sure, she might be eyeing Nick's bank account and unknowingly standing in the way of true love, but as Meredith says in the movie, 'Being young and beautiful is not a crime, you know.' Lohan and Hendrix reunite in 'Freakier Friday' (in theaters now), a sequel to the 2003 film in which angsty teenager Anna (Lohan) switched bodies with her psychologist mom Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis). In the second installment, Anna has shelved her dreams of becoming a rock star in order to be a devoted mom to her teenage daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and now manages a rising pop artist, Ella (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan). Thanks to a fortune teller (Vanessa Bayer), Anna swaps with Harper and Tess trades places with Harper's school nemesis and soon-to-be stepsister Lily (Sophia Hammons). Join our Watch Party! Sign up to receive USA TODAY's movie and TV recommendations right in your inbox Hendrix, 54, appears briefly as Anna's colleague Blake Kale, who assists at a photoshoot for Ella's album. Lohan tells USA TODAY that she and 'Freakier Friday' director Nisha Ganatra are both friends with Hendrix, which is how the cameo came to be. 'When it was mentioned, 'Should we have Elaine do a little cameo?' We were like, 'Yeah, why not? Let's do it! Let's get Elaine in here,' ' Lohan says. 'Because she's so awesome and she's amazing.' Lohan says she felt like the clock had turned back two decades. 'When we were shooting, I kept laughing because she says this line, something puss, and I was like, 'Oh, my God. That's like a 'Parent Trap' line,' Lohan says. 'I felt like I was 10 again.' (In 'The Parent Trap,' Meredith tells one of the twins, 'OK, puss, you listen and you listen good. I am marrying your father in two weeks, whether you like it or not.') Is Meredith the villain in 'The Parent Trap'? In 2022, Hendrix leaned into the 'He's a 10 but …' trend and took the opportunity to roast Nick in a TikTok set to Adele's 'Easy on Me.' She revisited the movie's plot with a video snippet of Hendrix pouring herself a tall glass of red wine. A voiceover says Meredith, Nick and the twins, 'go on a camping trip to get to know one another, but you're not a nature girl and the twins know it. So the little brats put rocks in your backpack, a lizard on your head, sugar water in your mosquito repellent, and push your air mattress into the lake while you're sleeping.' So you lose it, the text reads, 'threaten to ship them to Switzerland (for boarding school) and throw a ring at his head. And you've never looked back.' 'She's a bit of a villain in that movie,' Lohan says. 'But she's also just a beautiful blonde bombshell who falls in love with a man, and it's his fault too.' 'I think if you asked Hallie and Annie, they'd probably still say that she was the villain,' Lohan adds with a laugh. 'Or I don't know what they'd feel today! Maybe we'll see.'

You'll live, die and repeat watching this Tom Cruise sci-fi action movie on Peacock this weekend
When looking for a movie to watch this weekend, look no further than "Edge of Tomorrow," which was just added to Peacock at the beginning of the month. Some movies, you have to be in the right mood to watch. Others, you need to have just the right home theater setup to enjoy. But this sci-fi action movie can be enjoyed anywhere, and it might just be Tom Cruise's last great performance in a movie that wasn't a sequel to one of his many other roles. I'm not being hyperbolic either when I say that this movie can be watched anywhere. The first time I watched it was on a plane, and I had a blast. To be fair, action movies are the perfect plane movies, but this movie is just as enjoyable in the comfort of your own home, too. I'm not the only one who loves "Edge of Tomorrow" either. While the movie arguably underwhelmed at the box office, bringing in just enough money for Hollywood accounting to still declare it a bust, thanks to a massive $178 million budget. But that spending paid off with critics and audiences alike — it scored a 91% fresh rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a nearly identical 90% from audiences. So if you're subscribed to Peacock, this is the movie to watch this weekend across all the best streaming services. It's one of the best action movies of the 2010s, and more importantly, it's just fun to watch. "Edge of Tomorrow" is based on the Japanese light novel "All You Need Is Kill." It's set in a near-future version of Earth, where an alien race known as "Mimics" has conquered most of continental Europe, forcing humanity to unite into a global military force, known as the United Defense Force (UDF). The UDF still struggles against the mimics, though, until Sergeant Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) leads the UDF to victory at the Battle of Verdun. This sparks confidence in the UDF, which, led by General Brigham (Brendan Gleeson), decides to invade France to reclaim the country. But when Brigham orders Major William Cage (Cruise), a public relations officer with no combat experience, to cover the invasion, the cowardly major tries to blackmail the general to avoid the dangerous assignment. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Peacock Premium offers hit original shows, NBCUniversal movies and live sports, all starting at $10.99 a month. That backfires spectacularly, with Cage now demoted to Private and forced to serve with the infantry in the invasion. The move is intended to get Cage killed, which it does, but not before he's bathed in the blood of an "Alpha" Mimic — causing him to awake back in England just before the invasion. At this point, the movie really begins, with Cruise stuck in an endless cycle of waking up, getting thrown into battle and getting killed. But he starts to improve with each death, as he retains the memories from his past lives even after his deaths. This is one of two things that make "Edge of Tomorrow" work. First, there is the action, which is well executed and well paced. The movie is just 113 minutes long, giving it little time to linger in one place too long, and despite being very heavy on the CGI, it looks good, including the combat between the CGI Mimics against humans in CGI battle suits. In another movie, this would have looked cheap at the time and aged terribly, but the time and money invested in this movie's visual effects still pays off to this day. But the other thing that makes this sci-fi movie work is that the time travel element is fun, a welcome plot device rather than a paradox-laden rabbit hole to dive into. I won't spoil exactly how the time loop functions, which is revealed later in the movie, but when you realize what's happening, you don't question whether or not it works or not you just strap yourself in for the rest of the ride. So go stream "Edge of Tomorrow" on Peacock now, and enjoy. Malcolm has been with Tom's Guide since 2022 and has been covering the latest in streaming shows and movies since 2023. He's not one to shy away from a hot take, including that "John Wick" is one of the four greatest films ever made. Here's what he's been watching lately:
