SNSD's Sooyoung features in new ‘Ballerina' character posters set in ‘John Wick' world
LOS ANGELES, April 25 — Lionsgate has released 12 exclusive character posters for Ballerina, its upcoming action-thriller set in the John Wick universe.
Among the posters is one featuring South Korean singer and actress Choi Soo-young, better known as Sooyoung of K-pop girl group Girls' Generation (SNSD).
The images were revealed by IGN, which also shared new character details from the film, including the debut of Katla Park, played by Sooyoung.
'Katla Park is the daughter of the Ruska Roma's colleague Il Seong,' according to the character description.
'Eve's first field mission is to protect Katla Park at the lavish Minus Eleven club.'
SNSD debuted under SM Entertainment in 2007 and quickly rose to fame across Asia with hits like Gee and Genie.
Sooyoung, who has built a successful acting career in both television and film since her days with SNSD, now joins a high-profile international cast that includes Ana de Armas, Keanu Reeves, Norman Reedus and Anjelica Huston.
'Ballerina takes place in the John Wick world after the end of John Wick Chapter 3 and before the start of John Wick Chapter 4,' Keanu Reeves told IGN.
'It was so great to have the chance to play John Wick again and discover more of the John Wick world,' he added.

Len Wiseman directs Ballerina, marking the first time someone other than Chad Stahelski is helming a John Wick feature.
The film hits theatres on June 6.

In a statement posted on his social media, Fahmi recounted arriving at KLIA2 at around 7.30am to catch a 9.35am flight for a short two-day trip to attend a concert featuring South Korean band Slant and Singaporean act Sial. Advertisement But at the international departure counter, Immigration officers told him he had been flagged and needed to wait at their office. 'I was asked to wait while they checked with TCO (Travel Control Office/Order). Then they took my passport and IC for photocopying. They also wanted printed copies of my boarding pass and e-ticket, even though I had them on my phone,' he wrote, adding that with only 10 minutes left before boarding, an airport staff member helped him get the documents printed at a hotel nearby. When he returned to Immigration with the documents, Fahmi said an officer told him, 'Bukit Aman has not given clearance for you to leave the country.' He said no explanation was provided and he was escorted out of the departure area. #SHOWBIZ: Four K-pop BTS members to complete military service next week
SEOUL: Four members of K-pop supergroup BTS – RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook – will be discharged from mandatory military service next week, their agency BigHit Music announced on Saturday. RM and V are scheduled to complete their service on Tuesday, followed by Jimin and Jungkook on Wednesday, Yonhap news agency quoted the agency as saying in a statement. For safety reasons, there will be no public events to mark their return. The agency urged fans not to visit the military sites where the members will be discharged. "We kindly ask fans to send their warm welcome and support from their hearts to RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook," BigHit Music said. Of the seven-member group, Jin and J-Hope have already completed their military service. Suga, who has been serving under South Korea's social service programme, is expected to be discharged on June 21.
