Borderlands 4 Finally Gets A Release Date And It's Before GTA 6

Yahoo12-02-2025

The fall release calendar for 2025 is finally beginning to take shape. Borderlands 4 is the first into the breach with a launch planned for September 23. With Grand Theft Auto 6 also planned for a fall release, the window is rapidly closing for the year's other major blockbusters to find a spot.
The Borderlands 4 release date was announced by Gearbox Entertainment head Randy Pitchford in Wednesday's PlayStation State of Play alongside a trailer showing off more of the game's combat, including a bunch of dual-wielding loadouts and powers. We still don't know much about the sci-fi sequel's story or new mechanics and quality-of-life features, but it continues to look like it's very much offering the tried-and-true looter shooter formula that fans always show up for.
The lack of new details is probably because Borderlands 4 is getting its own dedicated State of Play showcase later in the year. Until then, fans can mull over the meaning of the previously revealed Timekeeper boss and how past Borderlands games, including the Pre-Sequel, will feed into the latest entry on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
I'm not being dramatic when I say that Borderlands is the only game with a firm fall 2025 release date so far. Other studios and publishers have seemingly been playing a waiting game around precisely when GTA 6's release date, which is currently slated for sometime between the end of September and the end of December, will get announced. There's been no new news about the game since its late 2023 trailer, but parent company Take-Two has been adamant that the game isn't getting delayed.
Now that we know Borderlands 4's release date, it seems like a good bet that GTA 6 will hit sometime in mid-to-late October. Good luck to everything else coming out that month.

Skateboarder hopes to tackle stigma around sport

A skateboarding coach said he hoped a two-day festival would help break down any stigma around the sport being "rough". The Two-Toed Skateboards event, which took place on Saturday and Sunday at Woodbridge Skatepark, Suffolk, included skateboarding lessons, live music and skating competitions. Advertisement The money raised throughout the weekend went towards Skatepark Respect and the Ben Raemers Foundation, a charity that ensures the skateboarding community has the resources to help people struggling with their mental health. Lewis Anderson, the founder of Two-Toed Skateboards, said: "I wanted to bring everyone together and show skating is more than just people on a skateboard." Mr Anderson founded Two-Toed Skateboards in 2017, after he qualified as a professional skateboarding coach. He said each year he tries to make the event bigger and better. "I wanted to bring everyone together and show skating is more than just people on a skateboard. It is rooted in the culture of art, in skateboard design, in graffiti, in music, in skate culture - so a skate festival just makes sense to me. Advertisement "I want to break down that stigma that skateboarding has... we're not rough, we are a community." Joe Bourne started skateboarding when he was about 13 and says it acts as an escapism [Angelle Joseph/BBC] Joe Bourne attended the event, which was held in collaboration with Woodbridge Town Council, and has been skateboarding since he was 13. He said: "It's the one thing that keeps me pushing really... it kept me out of a lot of trouble. It kept me sane at times, as my little escape from reality." He hoped the Woodbridge skate scene could be kept alive by the younger generation. "It's nice that it's still here. It used to be a bit bigger so it's a shame that it's dying out. It's good to see a lot of younger generations picking it up," he said. The event also hoped to give people the opportunity to have their say on how they would like to see the skatepark improved [Angelle Joseph/BBC] When attendees were asked what improvements could be made to the skatepark, their answers included more skating events, a graffiti wall and repairs. Advertisement Mr Anderson hopes with repairs and improvements, the skatepark will become a place where skaters can "feel a sense of ownership". Originally announced as "Project Bloom," Game Freak's upcoming action-adventure game made a formal appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase as Beast of Reincarnation. The studio describes the game as a "one-person, one-dog" RPG and it's supposed to be coming out in 2026. Based on the trailer, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic Japan that's returned to nature due to some kind of beast-born blight. As the main character "Emma the Sealer," you'll travel through the wilderness, engaging in "demanding, technical combat" alongside your dog Koo, all in the hopes of "saving humanity" from the sickness that's plaguing the land. Game Freak is best known for its work on the Pokémon games, but the developer has made an eclectic collection of other projects between mainline entries, including Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! and more recently, Pandoland . "Project Bloom" was originally supposed to be published by Take-Two's Private Division label, but when the label was sold in 2024, Game Freak's game was taken up by a new publisher called Fictions. Beast of Reincarnation is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2026. It'll also be available through Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Seth Rollins has expressed a strong desire to share the ring with John Cena one more time before the 17-time World Champion's retirement at the end of 2025. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rollins called out his former rival, referencing their heated history. This comes as Cena is in the midst of his final year as an active competitor, a heel "retirement tour" as the Undisputed WWE Champion. This has led many WWE fans to speculate about which classic rivalries Cena might revisit before he hangs up his boots for good. When asked about facing Cena again, Rollins stated, "I hope so. I hope so." He then referenced a more recent, positive experience teaming with Cena in India in September 2023. "John and I teamed a couple of years ago in India at a random show, a wonderful show there. I teamed with him and it was one of the wildest experiences I've ever had in a ring." Despite their successful team-up, Rollins made his competitive intentions clear. "I would love to face off with him one more time and get another chance to break his big old nose," Rollins declared. He immediately warned: "This knee is coming for you, John. I'd love to get one in before he hangs it up." MoreMore news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation Rollins' comment about breaking Cena's nose directly references their famous feud in 2014 and 2015. On the July 27, 2015, episode of Raw, Rollins' knee strike legitimately broke Cena's nose during a match. Their rivalry was a cornerstone of WWE programming during that era, culminating in a "Winner Take All" match at SummerSlam 2015, where Rollins defeated Cena to hold both the WWE and United States Championships. Currently, both men are top heels on their respective brands. Rollins is a leader of a new dominant faction on Raw and is a participant in this Saturday's Money in the Bank ladder match. Cena, aligned with Logan Paul, is set to face Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in a major tag team match at the same premium live event. With Cena's retirement tour ending in December, the window for a final, epic showdown between the two former rivals is closing. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
