On second day of his trip on 30 May, at around 11 AM, Modi will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth over ₹ 48,520 crore in Karakat, Bihar. He will also address a public function.
Thereafter, Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth around ₹ 20,900 crore at Kanpur Nagar at around 2:45 PM. He will also address a public function.
Marking 50 years of Sikkim statehood, Prime Minister will participate in Sikkim@50: Where Progress meets purpose and nature nurtures growth today. He will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects in Sikkim. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts of West Bengal.
The project, worth over ₹ 1010 crore, aims to provide Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to more than 2.5 Lakh households, over 100 commercial establishments and industries besides providing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to vehicular traffic by establishing around 19 CNG stations in line with the Minimum Work Program (MWP) targets stipulated by the Government.
It will provide convenient, reliable, environment-friendly and cost-effective fuel supply and create employment opportunities in the region, according to a government statement.
Modi will today inaugurate the newly constructed passenger terminal of Patna Airport. The new terminal built at a cost of around ₹ 1200 crore can handle 1 crore passengers per year. He will also lay the foundation stone of the new civil enclave of Bihta Airport worth over ₹ 1410 crore.
The Bihta airport will serve the town which is rapidly emerging as an educational hub near Patna, housing IIT Patna and the proposed NIT Patna campus.
On 30 May, Modi will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth over ₹ 48,520 crore in Karakat.
Modi will also lay the foundation stone for various road projects including the Four-Laning of the Patna–Arrah–Sasaram section of NH-119A, and the Six-Laning of the Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata highway (NH-319B) and Ramnagar–Kacchi Dargah stretch (NH-119D), and construction of a new Ganga bridge between Buxar and Bharauli.
The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the 3rd Rail Line between Son Nagar – Mohammad Ganj worth over ₹ 1330 crore, among others, the statement said.
Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects aimed at boosting the region's infrastructure and connectivity. He will inaugurate the Chunniganj Metro Station to Kanpur Central Metro Station section of Kanpur Metro Rail Project worth over ₹ 2,120 crore.
The PM will lay the foundation stone of a 220 kV substation in Sector 28 at Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Gautam Buddh Nagar to meet the growing energy demands of the region. He will also inaugurate 132 kV Substations worth over ₹ 320 crore at Ecotech-8 and Ecotech-10 in Greater Noida.

New Delhi: In a clear and stern warning to Pakistan from the ramparts of Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said terrorists and those providing them safe haven will be treated alike and that Indian armed forces will deliver a "crushing" response to the enemy in case of any future misadventure. Delivering his address on the country's 79th Independence Day, Modi, referring to Operation Sindoor, said the Indian military punished the enemies beyond their imagination and that India will no longer tolerate Islamabad's "nuclear blackmail" and will respond appropriately. The remarks came days after Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir's threat of using nuclear weapons. The prime minister also justified New Delhi's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) following the Pahalgam terror attack as he described the over six-decade-old pact as "unjust and one-sided", asserting that "blood and water" will not flow together. Explaining the impact of Operation Sindoor, Modi said Pakistan is still "sleepless" and that the devastation in that country has been so huge that every day brings new revelations and fresh information. India responded to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 with several punitive diplomatic and economic measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. On May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor to target terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, triggering four days of hostilities that ended with an understanding between the two sides on May 10. "Our nation has endured terrorism for many decades. The heart of the country has been pierced time and again. Now, we have established a new normal: those who nurture and harbour terrorism, and those who empower terrorists, will no longer be seen as separate," he said during his 103-minute address. "They are all equal enemies of humanity, with no distinction between them." Highlighting India's "new normal" in dealing with cross-border terrorism, Modi said the armed forces accomplished something that had not happened in decades as they reduced terrorist headquarters to dust and turned terror infrastructure into ruins in response to the Pahalgam attack. "I feel great pride that today I have the opportunity to salute the brave warriors of Operation Sindoor from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Our courageous soldiers punished the enemies beyond anything they could have imagined." "On April 22, terrorists crossed the border and committed a massacre in Pahalgam, killing people after asking their religion, shooting husbands in front of their wives, and executing fathers in front of their children. Modi breaks Indira's record, next is Nehru
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday broke Indira Gandhi's record by delivering 12 consecutive speeches from the ramparts of Red Fort to stand next only to Jawaharlal Nehru who delivered 17 Independence Day addresses in a row. Indira Gandhi held the office between January 1966 and March 1977, and then between January 1980 till her assassination in October 1984. In total, she delivered 16 addresses as prime minister on August 15 with 11 of them being consecutive. Nehru, India's longest-serving prime minister (1947-63), addressed the nation 17 times from the Red Fort. India's second prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri delivered speeches from the Red Fort ramparts for two Independence Days in 1964 and 1965. Post-emergency, Morarji Desai delivered the prime minister's address twice at Red Fort. Chaudhari Charan Singh gave an Independence Day speech only once in 1979. After the assassination of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi carried out the honours of the prime minister's speech five times from Red Fort.
