Tina O'Brien and Jorgie Porter suffer awkward blunder on British Soap Awards red carpet
Coronation Street's Tina O'Brien and Hollyoaks Jorgie Porter have suffered an awkward outfit clash at the annual soap awards event.
Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien and Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter suffered an uncomfortable blunder at the British Soap Awards. The actresses joined their co-stars on the red carpet for the annual event, which is taking place tonight.
The world of soap's most famous faces have come together to honour the stars who've found themselves at the centre of some of the biggest storylines of the past year. The 2025 categories include Best on-screen Partnership, Best Newcomer, Best Storyline, Best Young Performer, Scene of the Year, Outstanding Achievement Award and the Tony Warren Award.
However, Tina and Jorgie suffered an extremely awkward moment when they both rocked up on the red carpet wearing the exact same gown. Jorgie, 37, looked gorgeous as she stepped out in a sheer gold dress. The actress posed for snaps in the gown, which showed off her toned physique and left very little to imagination.
She completed her look with minimal jewellery, including a silver diamonté bracelet and a silver watch, the Mirror reports.
Her signature blonde hair was slicked back in a tight bun style, completing her classy look.
Meanwhile, 41-year-old Tina, who is best known for playing Sarah Platt in Coronation Street, looked equally as beautiful at the star-studded event where she was snapped alongside her daughter, Scarlett Thomas.
Similarly to Jorgie, Tina kept her accessories to a minimum, wearing only a small pair of earrings.
However, she did go for a very different hairstyle, with her long blonde locks styled into voluminous waves which cascaded freely down her shoulders and rested on her chest.
The two soap stars appeared on the red carpet just ten minutes apart, which thankfully prevented an awkward run in had they arrived at the same time in the same outfit.
Coronation Street and Hollyoaks are set to go head-to-head in the Best British Soap category, while Tina's on-screen family, The Platts, are nominated for Best Family.
They will be competing against the likes of EastEnders' The Slaters, The Dingles from Emmerdale and The Osbornes from Hollyoaks.
Taking to social media to comment on the awkward situation, one fan remarked: "Not Tina O'Brien and Jorgie Porter wearing the same dress."
However, while fans eagerly wait in anticipation to find out who will be crowned the winners, many have been left disappointed that the event isn't airing live on TV.
The awards ceremony is airing on Thursday night instead to make way for the Britain's Got Talent finale on ITV tonight on Saturday May 31.
Taking to X to complain about the delay in broadcast, one fan fumed: "It's ridiculous that the British Soap Awards isn't live… there's more hype for the soap stars arriving outside for something not even airing on tv for another week than there is the Britain's Got Talent final… sort it out for next year please @itv."
A second echoed: "Soap Awards getting spoiled because ITV thinks people would rather watch BGT instead."
A third angry fan chimed in: "The soap awards not being aired live is such a let down, who at ITV thought that was a good idea? There isn't any point watching it now... #BritishSoapAwards."

Gorgeous moment Danny Dyer saw daughter Dani in wedding dress for first time
Danny Dyer's daughter, Dani Dyer, said she'd had the 'best day of her life' when she married footballer, Jarrod Bowen, on Saturday, at a lavish bash in Buckinghamshire Dani Dyer has shared the adorable moment her proud dad, Danny, saw her in her wedding dress for the first time when she got married to Jarrod Bowen on Saturday. The Love Island star, 28, said she'd had the 'best day of her life' at the lavish nuptials in Buckinghamshire at which EastEnders star Danny, 47, played a very important role. In a gorgeous montage of snaps of the big day shared on Instagram, Danny can be seen waiting in anticipation for his firstborn to reveal her stunning wedding dress as she prepared to become Mrs Bowen. As Dani turns round, sporting a beautiful off-the-shoulder white silk gown, with her hair tied into an elegant bun, Danny's eyes fill with tears as he gives his daughter a huge hug. Danny walked Dani, who has now changed her name to Dani Dyer-Bowen, down the aisle at the wedding at the five-star Langley Hotel while the Love Island star's two-year-old twin daughters, Summer and Star, were flower girls. The Football Factory star also gave a speech during the reception, which was reportedly 'toned down' before the big day by Dani's mum, Jo. After the newlyweds said 'I do', Danny couldn't resist injecting a bit of football banter into the proceedings. In videos shared on social media, he can be heard encouraging guests to sing 'Bowen's On Fire - and he's married Dani Dyer ' to the tune of pop star Gala's hit Freed from Desire, as guests could be seen waving white napkins in the air. Speaking about how important it was for Danny to give Dani a wedding she'd 'never forget', a source told the Mirror: "Family is everything to Dani and Danny is the same way. He pulled out all of the stops to make sure it's a wedding no one would forget for his little girl – the best day of her life. "He adores her and actually says he's got her to thank for some things because Dani winning Love Island boosted his career too. Dani feels she has found her soulmate in Jarrod and it's a relief after she's had so many ups and downs. "Everyone else loves him too. Jarrod and Danny get on so well, which was important to Dani, so it was always going to be a wonderful celebration for the family.' Hammers fan Danny is also a huge fan of his son-in-law, who plays for his beloved West Ham football team. Speaking about his daughter's relationships, Danny told the Mirror: "I have gone from the lying scum, and I hate them, to a man who I would not mind tonguing myself! "A strong man. If he lent in I would put my lips on this geezer. He is just, as a father and joking aside, he took her on with a 14 month old son and that says a lot about a man I will tell you." He added: 'He is amazing. I can't wait to give her away. What a touch. But if he was to make a move on me before… I think I'm in love with him, slightly.'

Rochelle Humes has moved on from music - what she's doing now might surprise you
Rochelle Humes is still getting used to Zoom quirks – 'I start every conversation muted,' she laughs – but that's about the only part of her day-to-day that's not polished to a shine. As a presenter, entrepreneur, brand founder, and now podcast host, Humes has become a widely recognised force in British media after leaving pop groups S Club Juniors and The Saturdays. Now, she's turning her attention to a new kind of stage: UK House, where she'll host a Ladies Who Launched lunch on June 3 as part of a three-day celebration of British creativity and entrepreneurship. 'I'm so passionate about connecting women in business, that's why the podcast exists,' Humes tells Metro, referring to her new podcast, Ladies Who Launched, which came out on January 1st this year. 'It's built a community really organically. And I know that's such a buzzword now, but what I love is that it's real. Women are arranging to meet up, sharing ideas and supporting each other.' This spirit of connection is core to Humes' vision, and a thread that runs through her many projects. Humes rose to fame as a member of The Saturdays, the girl group that dominated UK charts in the late 2000s. But her pivot into television and later entrepreneurship has defined the last decade of her life – leaving music in the rearview mirror. 'Music feels like forever ago,' she reflects. 'We called it a day when my eldest, Alaia, was one – she's just turned 12 now. Since then, I've built a career in television, and then gradually started building my own brand.' Humes says music is a closed chapter she can't imagine herself revisiting: 'I've got so many fond memories, but I really love what I do now.' Now, her focus includes My Little Coco, her award-winning children's skincare and lifestyle line, which launched in 2020. 'It's my baby, outside of my actual babies,' she jokes. 'It's what gets me out of bed in the morning. It's also my main stress!' The transition from music to media, to business and now podcasting may seem like a sharp turn, but for Humes, it has always felt natural. 'I've always been one for a pivot,' she says. 'There was a time when people would frown at that, like 'Oh, of course they've left pop and now they're trying TV.' But I think it's different now. Creatives are much more fluid. Singers become actors, actors become presenters, influencers become founders.' Now, she says, that kind of cross-platform approach is not only accepted, it's expected. 'Social media has changed everything,' she says. 'That's great in some ways, especially for creators building their platforms, but I'm also cautious, especially as a mum. My kids aren't on social media, and I'm not rushing that.' It's motherhood, and the constant, imperfect balancing act it brings, that underpins Humes' work today. 'I've made peace with the fact that something always has to give,' she says. 'Some weeks, I'm a great mum – I've hosted playdates, I've been to everything. But that probably means I've missed meetings and fallen behind on emails. Then the next week, I've smashed deadlines, but I haven't made it to netball practice.' She pushes back against the myth of perfect balance. 'You can have it all, but not all at the same time. Society sells us this version of balance that's not really attainable. It's okay to be stronger at different things at different times.' But this year's UK House isn't just about startups and stories. It also coincides with the debut of SXSW London and a two-night showcase from the British Music Embassy, spotlighting some of the UK's most exciting new music talent. Taking place just around the corner from UK House at Devonshire Square on June 2 and 3, the BME event will feature performances from Beth McCarthy, Charlotte OC, Master Peace, Joviale and more. As with UK House, it's all about collaboration and cross-industry energy, bringing together the best of the UK's creative economy. More Trending It's a perfect event for Rochelle to be a part of, she notes, as it's all about the fluid relationship between business and creative industries. As for advice to artists and business people alike, Humes thinks storytelling is a common thread. 'You've got to really know who you're speaking to. You can have a big following, but if they're not engaged in what you're doing, it's not the same. Community isn't about numbers, it's about alignment. Be clear on who you are and what you bring, and the right people will come along for the ride.' With everything Rochelle Humes is building, her music career may soon become a footnote in a much bigger story. Got a story? She had such a quiet grace on screen — Catch Us If You Can was a core memory from my childhood. Rest easy, Dinah." Another echoed: 'RIP to Barbara Ferris - unforgettable in The Krays. That voice, that presence. We were lucky to have her, even if briefly.' And someone else wrote: "Barbara was one of the kindest, most generous actors I ever worked with. Her laughter lit up every set we shared. It was an honour just to be around her." Ferris, who passed away on May 23, 2025, led a life touched by both quiet stardom and personal devotion. Her younger sister, Liz, achieved athletic acclaim, becoming a springboard diving champion and taking home bronze at the 1960 Rome Olympics. That same year, Ferris married film producer John Quested. But the newlyweds had little time to celebrate - their honeymoon was a single night at The Dorchester, cut short by Ferris's imminent professional stage debut. Ferris is survived by her husband and their three children: Nicholas, Christopher, and Catherine.
