Four people arrested in Brantford drug bust
Four people are facing drug trafficking charges after a joint investigation by Six Nations Police and the Brantford Police Service.
Investigators were looking into suspected drug trafficking on Six Nations and the City of Brantford, leading to the search of a Colborne Street East home on Thursday.
Four people were arrested at the residence and police said they seized approximately 245.9 grams of fentanyl, 99.4 grams of methamphetamine, 14 grams of cocaine, a replica firearm, a stolen utility trailer, bulk prescription medication, currency, drug packaging, digital scales and cell phones.
Four people from Brantford, between the ages of 35 and 45, have been charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Dilaudid for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000 and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Gatineau, Que. police officer charged with assault, uttering threats

The Gatineau Police Service (SPVG) says its professional standards section was informed that an officer might have committed a crime during a police response on June 9. The professional standards section investigated and forwarded its findings to Quebec's director of criminal and penal prosecutions, which charged officer Jonathan Lévesque last Thursday with assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. The charges have not been proven in court. 'The SPVG maintains high expectations for the professionalism and exemplary conduct of its police officers and confirms that these allegations are being taken seriously,' the police service said in a news release, translated from French. Gatineau police say Lévesque has been suspended with pay since the outset of the investigation and will remain suspended from duty until the proceedings are completed.
