Chris Hemsworth's Thor 5 could be in the works, and why that is a brilliant idea
It's been three years since Thor made an independent outing on the big screen, and failed miserably with the 2022 film 'Thor: Love And Thunder'. And just when the hopes of having another Thor movie were being dimmed, a fresh report has suggested that the fifth film in the franchise could just be in the works. Don't hold your horses yet, though. It's just a report.advertisementDaniel Richtman, who's often regarded as an industry insider, especially when it comes to the Marvel cinematic universe, shared the news via his Patreon account. Now, it may or may not be true, but it's enough to keep the hope alive. Because, well, a flop outing doesn't make the entire franchise look less sparkly, especially when there's a lot to explore in the Hercules thread.Richtman, during his latest post, shared that Marvel has green-lit 'Thor 5', and while nothing much about the film has been discussed or finalised yet, director Taika Waititi is not returning to helm the fifth part - which is not a surprise considering the response that the last Thor film got, and his comments on social media that heavily upset the fans.
'Thor 5', if the report is to be believed, is going to be a part of the MCU's next saga, post-'Avengers: Secret Wars'. The latest Avengers movie - 'Avengers: Doomsday'-is already being shot for a December 16, 2026 release. 'Thor 5' will have to come way later in the pipeline. But, that's fine as long as it is happening.advertisementCurrently, in the 'Thor' universe, Loki died in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and our God of Thunder got to know about his love, Jane Foster's death in 'Thor: Love And Thunder'. Thor now has a daughter, named Love, who is the daughter of Gorr the God Butcher, but is resurrected by Eternity and taken in by Thor.
It will be interesting to see how the MCU plans a new timeline, and further new twists to appreciate all that Thor has done so far. Honestly, he is the oldest avenger with divine qualities until Wanda Maximoff entered the universe and became an avenger in 2015. It is only wise to dedicate another film to our mighty God of Thunder and give the franchise a chance to redeem itself. There's a lot that Thor is yet to explore, including navigating through Loki's death and fixing the world with his daughter. Also, if 'Thor 5' happens, Thor would become the only avenger to have five independent movies in the Avenger universe.

Scarlett Johansson says she felt cagey working with enormous Marvel cast: ‘Your identity is wrapped up in this job'
Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson opened up about challenges while working with a massive ensemble cast on the sets of Marvel films. Scarlett played Natasha Romanoff in films including The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and her solo spin-off, Black Widow. The actor said that working with an enormous cast made her feel that she wasn't doing any engaging work as an actor. (Also read: 95-year-old June Squibb gets 5-minute standing ovation at Cannes for Scarlett Johansson's Eleanor the Great) The 40-year-old actor in a conversation with Interview magazine said, "Some of the films that I did for Marvel engaged my character more than others. Like in Captain America: The Winter Soldier with Chris (Evans), we were really dynamic," she said. "In some of the other films, the cast was so enormous and there was so much plot to serve that you start to feel like you're a device to move it along. And if you're committed to five and a half months of that, it's like, 'Okay. I can't paint my nails, I can't get a haircut.' These sound like silly problems, but your identity is wrapped up in this job for a long time, and if you're not doing engaging work as an actor, you feel a little cagey sometimes," she added. Scarlett was recently lauded for her directorial debut film Eleanor The Great, which made its world premiere at the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard category. The film stars 94-year-old June Squibb in the lead role. Scarlett's other film, The Phoenician Scheme, premiered in the Main Competition. The actor's next film, Jurassic World Rebirth, is scheduled to hit the theatres on 2 July.

Scarlett Johansson wanted off Thunderbolts credits after feeling like a plot device
In a spicy tell-all convo with Thunderbolts co-star David Harbour for Interview Magazine, the Black Widow herself spilled major tea: she asked Marvel to yank her executive producer credit from Thunderbolts because, in her own words, she "was not involved." Mic drop. Scarlett Johansson has had enough of the MCU, and she is not sugarcoating it While Harbour was all praise and 'congrats' for her producer status, Johansson was quick to clarify that she wanted nothing to do with it and requested the credit be removed, hinting that the only reason it was there at all was due to a contract clause. Awkward much? Feeling like a pawn in Marvel's mega machine But the drama did not stop there. Scarlett went full no-filter mode, saying that being part of massive Marvel ensembles sometimes made her feel like nothing more than a glorified plot-mover. According to her, some projects like The Winter Soldier were creatively fulfilling, but others? Not so much. Being sidelined in overcrowded storylines for nearly half a year left her feeling 'cagey,' especially when her identity was basically glued to a red wig and spy suit. David Harbour is just as burnt out And if you thought David Harbour was going to disagree, think again. He mirrored the exhaustion, having played Hopper in Stranger Things for nearly a decade. The actor admitted that while the love was real in the early seasons, the repetitiveness eventually got to him. He just wants to take a risk again—and honestly, same. Black Widow's chapter is closed, for good Scarlett's Black Widow met her dramatic end in Avengers: Endgame, and while fans clung to hopes of a multiverse return, she has made it very clear that her chapter is closed. She told Vanity Fair that her character's arc is complete, and revisiting it would be disrespectful—to the role, and to the fans. So yeah, Scarlett Johansson has officially ghosted the MCU. And no, she is not sorry about it.

He talked about playing Hopper in the popular series 'Stranger Things' and how it can get repetitive, especially after 10 years. 'When I started, I loved it so much. Buddies of mine who'd done TV shows for many years said, 'By season three or four, you'll be running.' And I was like, 'Never! I love all these guys so much.' And then you get to a certain point where you're like, 'How much more story is there?' You're having to play a lot of the same beat, and there's a feeling where you're like, 'I want to take a risk. I want to do something that people haven't seen me do before. ' So yeah, after 10 years, it's like, 'Okay,'' said Harbour. The actor then congratulated Johansson for her role as producer on the new 'Thunderbolts' film by saying, 'It's the opening day of a movie that basically you are the seventh Thunderbolt in. Your character is all over this movie…. You are an executive producer on it. Congratulations.' The 'Black Widow' actress, however, shared that as soon as she got to know about her name being included in the film credits, she had requested its removal.
