Chris Hemsworth's heartfelt Thor tribute fuels speculation of MCU Exit
Although it's now official that Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as 'Thor' in Avengers: Doomsday, the actor has released a video called "Thank You! The Legacy of Thor," which has sparked rumours that he could be nearing the end of his MCU Wednesday, the star took to his YouTube channel to release a one-minute and fifty-six-second video that features a mix of clips, behind-the-scenes footage and interview moments from Chris Hemsworth's time as the MCU's 'God of Thunder,' including scenes from all four Thor films and ensemble entries like Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War and also shared a message saying "Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday!".While his heartfelt note feels like he's bidding goodbye to the iconic character, it's also widely assumed that Hemsworth will now appear in Avengers: Secret Wars—unless, of course, the Mighty Asgardian is destined to join his ancestors in Valhalla during this is not the first time; in the past also, Hemsworth suggested that it might be time to kill off the character."I feel like we'd probably have to close the book if I ever did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like it probably warrants that. I think it'd probably be the finale, but that's not based on anything anyone's told me or any plans. You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero, and I don't know... am I at that stage? Who knows?"Both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars have recently faced major delays, with Doomsday now scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars following on December 17, Russo brothers are set to direct both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, marking their first MCU projects since directing The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame.

Chris Hemsworth's Thor tribute fuels MCU exit rumors ahead of ‘Avengers: Doomsday'
Chris Hemsworth has shared a video tribute reflecting on his 15-year run as Thor, prompting speculation that his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be nearing its end. The video, titled 'Thank You! The Legacy of Thor,' was released shortly after Marvel confirmed Hemsworth will return as the God of Thunder in Avengers: Doomsday. The tribute includes a mix of scenes from Hemsworth's appearances across the MCU, including all four Thor films and ensemble titles like Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. It also features behind-the-scenes footage and personal reflections from the actor. 'Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life,' Hemsworth wrote in a message accompanying the video. 'For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you... Next up, Doomsday!' While the post does not confirm an exit, its tone has led many fans to believe Hemsworth may be preparing to conclude his role. The actor previously indicated that any future appearance as Thor might need to serve as a conclusion to the character's story. 'I feel like we'd probably have to close the book if I ever did it again... You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero... am I at that stage? Who knows?' he said in an earlier interview. Marvel Studios has not commented on whether Avengers: Doomsday will be Hemsworth's final appearance, though speculation has also centered around whether Thor might return for Avengers: Secret Wars, currently set for release in 2027. Both films have recently faced delays. Avengers: Doomsday is now scheduled for December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars is slated for December 17, 2027. The Russo brothers, who directed previous major MCU titles including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, are set to return to direct both projects.

Bryan Cranston in talks for Professor X role in Marvel's mutant saga
Marvel Studios is reportedly interested in casting Bryan Cranston as Professor Charles Xavier in its upcoming X-Men reboot, sources reveal. The potential casting is part of Marvel's broader plan to relaunch the mutant saga within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), set to unfold after the events of 'Avengers: Secret Wars.' Although no official offer has been made, insiders indicate that Marvel has approached Cranston for the iconic role of Professor X. Cranston, known for his dynamic acting range, has previously expressed interest in joining the MCU as a complex antagonist. He has specifically mentioned a desire to portray Mister Sinister, emphasizing his preference for characters that have not yet appeared in live-action adaptations to avoid direct comparisons. The forthcoming MCU film 'Avengers: Doomsday,' scheduled for December 18, 2026, is expected to feature returning original X-Men cast members, including Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto. This ensemble cast will unite with the Avengers to battle the villain Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. While Cranston's involvement remains unofficial, Marvel's casting decisions for the X-Men reboot are anticipated soon after the release of 'Avengers: Doomsday.' Fans of the franchise eagerly await official announcements as Marvel Studios continues to build its mutant universe within the MCU. This potential casting marks a significant step in Marvel's strategy to integrate the X-Men characters into the MCU, setting the stage for new storylines and epic collaborations in upcoming films.

Disney delays next two Marvel 'Avengers' movies
Walt Disney's movie studio has postponed the release of the next two installments in Marvel's blockbuster "Avengers" series, the company said on Thursday. "Avengers: Doomsday" now will come out on December 18, 2026, about seven months later than its previous date of May 1. "Doomsday" will bring Robert Downey Jr. back to the franchise as the villain, Doctor Doom. Disney also moved "Avengers: Secret Wars" to December 17, 2027 from May 2, 2027. The new schedule was chosen to give the filmmakers more time to complete the superhero movies, which are among the biggest Disney has ever made, a source familiar with the matter said. "Doomsday" is already in production. "Avengers: Endgame," released in 2019, is the second-highest grossing movie of all time with $2.8 billion in global ticket sales, behind "Avatar" with $2.9 billion. —REUTERS
