The Gators are coming off their first top-10 class under Napier in the 2025 cycle after an 8-5 finish last season, the best output under Napier as he enters his fourth season at the helm in Gainesville.
Despite the promising trajectory for the program, Florida hasn't made the splash in the 2026 recruiting cycle just yet. Tuesday's news, however, is a step in the right direction, as four-star safety Kaiden Hall announced his pledge to the Gators.
Hall (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) is a two-way star Milton (Florida) High School. The highly-touted recruit received snaps at defensive back and quarterback/wide receiver as a junior last season.

Hall totaled 32 tackles (3 for loss) on defense while adding 161 rushing yards and two touchdowns with eight receptions for 80 yards on offense in seven games.

Florida was in competition for Hall with Florida State, Oklahoma and Alabama.
Before he took an official visit to the Gators over the weekend, Hall unofficially visited head coach Kalen DeBoer's Crimson Tide in March and went on to name Alabama his leader.
But it was the Gators that fought off the SEC foe and in-state rival Florida State for Hall's pledge. He ranks as the No. 6 safety, the No. 17 player in the state and the No. 125 recruit overall in his class (Rivals).
Hall joins three other Florida commits in the 2026 cycle, including four-star quarterback Will Griffin, three-star offensive lineman G'Nivre Carr and three-star defensive lineman Jamir Perez.

Broncos' Rookie RB RJ Harvey Could be Headed for Fantasy Stardom

Broncos' Rookie RB RJ Harvey Could be Headed for Fantasy Stardom originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Denver Broncos left the second round of the NFL Draft with a pick that is getting some within the fantasy football community very excited. Advertisement According to ESPN's Matt Bowen, Broncos' running back RJ Harvey is the third-ranked rookie for fantasy football heading into this season. Bowen cited Harvey's 4.40 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine, his ability to run with balance, and Sean Payton's ability to use running backs in the passing game as key reasons why. All of those factors scream similarities to a young Alvin Kamara with the New Orleans Saints. That is not to say Harvey should be expected to produce like Kamara, but he may be primed for a big role this upcoming season. Plus, according to CBS Sports' Dan Schneier, Broncos running backs had the fifth-highest target share on their team (22%) compared to the rest of the NFL. The Las Vegas Raiders' Ashton Jeanty (first) and the Los Angeles Chargers' Omarion Hampton (second). Advertisement Jeanty was the consensus top running back in the draft class, so there is no surprise there. Plus, Hampton is playing for Jim Harbaugh, who loves utilizing his running backs and pounding the rock. Still, Harvey and Hampton's values were closely aligned. Hampton was suggested as a fifth-round pick in a fantasy draft, while Bowen believed Harvey should go in the fifth or sixth round. With two backs also competing for reps, 2024 fifth-rounder Audric Estime and 2023 undrafted free agent Jaleel McLaughlin, Harvey has a path to taking over a key role in an offense that is looking for someone to emerge. Texans' C.J. Gardner-Johnson Sounds Off on Eagles DC Vic Fangio's Comments

Texans' C.J. Gardner-Johnson Sounds Off on Eagles DC Vic Fangio's Comments originally appeared on Athlon Sports. A day after Eagles Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio made comments regarding the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade decision, the Houston Texans' new defensive back took to social media to sound off. Advertisement In March, the Eagles made a stunning move when they traded safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Texans for offensive guard Kenyon Green and a 2026 fifth-round pick. Tuesday, when asked about the trade, Fangio referred to it as "a salary cap thing." "Howie (Roseman, Eagles GM) made that decision. I was fine with it,' he added. Wednesday, Gardner-Johnson clapped back at his former coordinator via an Instagram story. "Just don't do them young guys like yall Did me," Gardner-Johnson posted, including a 100 emoji and a flexed bicep emoji. Deion Sanders Ends Beef With Former NFL Player

Deion Sanders Ends Beef With Former NFL Player originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel is no stranger to stirring up controversy. The outspoken veteran recently took to social media to argue that his career achievements are among all-time greats like Deion Sanders. It was a claim that quickly ignited a debate about stats. Advertisement However, Samuel's challenge was not solely about raw statistics. It sparked an entirely new discussion on defensive techniques, notably the 'T-step' maneuver Sanders once dismissed as unnecessary. The ensuing conversation left many wondering if personal tensions had long simmered between Samuel and Sanders. The debate took center stage on Friday with Sanders making an appearance on Samuel's podcast, 'Say What Needs to Be Said,' where they expanded on the conversation. From the very start, the discussion was charged. Coach Prime recounted an incident on the NFL Network when he was asked to rank current NFL cornerbacks. He had famously described Samuel as 'the best off corner in the league.' Samuel, however, did not take kindly to the compliment, marking the moment as the start of the rift. Advertisement In the early portion of the podcast, Sanders and Samuel traded views on the evolution of the cornerback position. Samuel argued that modern defensive backs are unfairly judged by statistics such as interceptions, defensive touchdowns, and pass breakups. 'Today's players are more than just numbers on a stat sheet,' he said. It suggests that the focus on measurable production comes at the expense of evaluating overall impact. Sanders countered that his own primary goal was always to see Samuel 'travel' to cover the opposing team's best receiver regardless of alignment. A mindset he described as foundational to defensive strategy. The conversation then turned to film study and technique. Samuel revealed that his approach involved narrowing the quarterback's options by taking away his favorite side of the field, typically the left side favored by right-handed passers. Advertisement In contrast, Sanders recalled his own emphasis on physicality and the art of covering the best receiver available. The differing philosophies, though nuanced, underscored a long-standing divide in how the game should be played. It's a divide that neither man was willing to compromise on. Related: Deion Sanders found out the NFL kept receipts on Shedeur as a first-rounder As the discussion progressed, Coach Prime told stories with memories of past locker-room dynamics, including a moment when he intervened to smooth over tensions between Travis Hunter and Richard Sherman. Prime recounted how Sherman's 'bland' comment had visibly upset Hunter. 'I would never rank players anymore because they look up to me,' Prime said. His intervention was instrumental in defusing conflict, which is a duty he takes as seriously as coaching on the field. Advertisement Related: Deion Sanders Reveals He's Been Battling Health Issues During Offseason The episode also revisited the old benchmark for Hall of Fame induction among defensive backs, which is 50 career interceptions. Samuel pointed out that this marker was no longer the gold standard and noted that only seven Hall of Famers at the position ended their careers with fewer than 50 interceptions. Both Sanders and Samuel expressed concern that an overreliance on traditional stat lines has become outdated. Related: Travis Hunter Catching Attention Over Future Implications With Contract Sanders and Samuel made clear that any perceived rift between them was in the past. Coach Prime extended an invitation for Samuel to experience live gameday action in Boulder. Though Samuel hesitated to bestow a formal title on Prime, he noted that he was working toward earning 'Step Pops.' Despite differing techniques and disagreements, the old Florida boys remain united. 'We're both good,' Prime concluded. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 3, 2025, where it first appeared.
