
Woman charged after train collision
A woman has been charged after colliding with a train in Blandford-Blenheim Township on June 7.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., police responded to a collision involving a car and a train. The driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old female was charged with dangerous operation and operation while impaired.
She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and has been released from custody.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Woodstock on July 15.

Brantford Police arrest Toronto man after disturbance involving a firearm

Police said the disturbance happened at around 9:30 p.m. at an Icomm Drive skate park. Police did not specify what happened but said the suspect had a loaded restricted firearm at the time. No one was hurt. Police said the suspect did not want to identify himself to officers. After further investigation, police believed the man was wanted by a police service in a neighbouring area. They said he was in violation of multiple probation orders. Police arrested a 25-year-old man from Toronto. He was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized firearm possession, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, non-compliance with a prohibition order, possession of a firearm or weapon contrary to a prohibition order, failure to comply with a judicial release order and obstruction of a peace officer.
