In a separate social media post, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said aside from the pool, the Amoranto Sports Complex now has locker rooms, a dug-out, a shower area, and a warm-up pool.
Three lifeguards were also deployed to ensure the safety of pool users.
The pool is open every day to individual or group swimmers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be an entrance fee of P100 per head and P1,500 for 15 pax.
If over 15 pax, there will be an additional P100 per pax (maximum of 20 pax per group)
Quezon City student residents will have a 20% discount.
In his State of the Nation Address last July 28, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed concern over the growing number of overweight Filipino adults, calling for a nationwide shift to healthier, more active lifestyles through accessible community-based fitness initiatives.
Marcos then announced that the Philippine Sports Commission will open its facilities to the public for free.
"Simula ngayon, bubuksan ng Philippine Sports Commission sa publiko ang kanilang mga track and field oval sa Pasig, Maynila, at Baguio, upang makapag-jogging na kayo nang libre," he said.

Marcos forms task force for PH hosting of FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup 2025

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the creation of an Inter-Agency Task Force that will lead the country's preparation for hosting the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup (FFWWC) 2025. The Philippines is set to host the FFWWC for the first time from Nov. 21 to Dec. 7, where Pasig City and Victorias City in Negros Occidental will serve as host venues for the 16 top women's national teams. Signed on July 30 by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Administrative Order (AO) No. 35 stated that the task force will serve as the central coordinating body for concerned government agencies, local government units (LGUs), and private units in planning, organizing, and executing the international futsal tournament. Marcos directed the Philippine Sports Commission to be the chair and secretariat of the task force, while the Department of the Interior and Local Government will serve as the vice chair. Meanwhile, the following are among the agencies tasked to be members of the task force: the Department of Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Finance, Department of Budget and Management, Department of Health, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Transportation, Presidential Communications Office, the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Immigration, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. The task force is directed to plan, implement, and procure materials for the tournament. It is also tasked with coordinating plans and activities and forming an executive committee, if needed, to oversee operations. The task force is authorized to accept donations, contributions, grants, and gifts from domestic and international sources, in accordance with existing laws and regulations. All national government agencies, state universities and colleges, and government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs) are directed to provide support and assistance to the task force. Meanwhile, LGUs and private sector partners are urged to support the initiative. The funds for the implementation of the event will come from the available budgets of the concerned agencies, following existing financial laws and regulations. 'The hosting of the FFWWC 2025 aims to advance the development of futsal in the country, inspire greater sports engagement among Filipinos, elevate the Philippines' standing in the international sports arena, and generate economic and tourism opportunities through a globally recognized event,' the AO read. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/KG, GMA Integrated News
