Good Morning Britain had the pleasure of welcoming Josie Gibson on Thursday (7 August), where she joined hosts Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls to discuss her latest television endeavour.
Josie, who is a familiar face from ITV's This Morning, has been immersed in filming her new show, Josie Gibson's Big Country Build, which follows her journey as she turns her Somerset abode into an eco-friendly sanctuary with assistance from her nearest and dearest.
GMB aired a promotional clip for the upcoming seven-part series, revealing Josie's candid experiences of embarking on such an ambitious renovation project, including how it has drained her finances. In conversation with the hosts, Josie opened up about the hurdles of working alongside family and friends during the transformation process.
Ranvir initiated the discussion by remarking, "You know what, you used to live in a caravan before all of this, and now, just a few years later, you've bought this enormous house. You're a great British success story, Josie!" To which Josie humorously responded, "Well, I'm moving back into a caravan, I don't know about that!" She elaborated on her lifelong aspiration to create an eco-conscious home that's "as off-grid as possible". The beloved television personality is collaborating with her brothers, Josh and Charlie, who deal in scrap metal, her cousin Tom, a professional builder, and a crew of local talent to bring her vision to life in Somerset.
Josie confessed on GMB that this venture brought considerable difficulties. Speaking to Ed and Ranvir, she revealed, "I've actually roped the family in. They say never to work with family or animals, and I've done just that. To say my stress levels are up here..
"They are great, they are amazing, but there are a lot of challenges, let's say.", reports the Mirror.
Nevertheless, the This Morning presenter seemed to harbour no second thoughts about embarking on such an ambitious undertaking, despite the "massive obstacles" she's encountered along the way.
"I've had a lot of sleepless nights," the mother-of-one Josie confessed. "Sometimes, you get this great big dream and you follow your dreams, but you don't realise, with those dreams, there could be quite a lot of hurdles."
Josie's upcoming ITV programme, created by MGM Alternative, is scheduled to broadcast in 2026. ITV has not yet announced a definitive launch date.
The fresh television venture comes after her four-part Channel 5 travel programme, Around the World in First Class, which debuted earlier this year. The show saw the presenter journeying to destinations including Hong Kong.

Netflix fans demand 'trigger warning' for new romcom after dark twist

The trending film has caught some viewers off-guard *Warning: Contains major spoilers for My Oxford Year* ‌ A new romantic comedy on Netflix has left viewers calling for a trigger warning over a dark twist in the storyline. ‌ My Oxford Year released on the platform on August 1 and it has already shot to the top of the streamer's most-watched films list. ‌ The film follows American student Anna (Sofia Carson) who takes on a year-long poetry course at Oxford University. While she comes to the prestigious institution with a fixed plan, it is quickly derailed by teaching assistant Jamie (Corey Mylchreest) who changes the course of her life forever. Despite being billed as a tear-jerker on Netflix, as well as bearing a warning for an "illness theme", some viewers have been caught off-guard by how the story unravels. ‌ It emerges during the film that Jamie, who has tried to avoid becoming seriously committed to Anna, is behaving that way because he has terminal cancer. He has also refused to carry on with treatment despite the objections of his family. Eventually the pair realise they can't hide from their undeniable connection and they carry on their relationship. In a heart-wrenching finale, after being struck with a severe case of pneumonia, Anna sits with Jamie and they talk about the future during his final moments. A montage plays out that shows the pair travelling the world together, but it is then revealed that this is just Anna's fantasy and she is experiencing Amsterdam, Greece, Paris and Venice entirely alone. Meanwhile Jamie has passed away beside her in the bed. ‌ The devastating scene has prompted complaints from viewers who had no idea about the cancer element of the story. "This was so sad. If I had known I wouldn't have watched it," shared one upset viewer, as a second said: "Just finished watching this and didn't quite realise what the plot was. Enjoyable film - but have tissues at the ready!" ‌ An emotional post from a third viewer read: "Netflix, this is a lovely film but I was a bit ambushed by it. I've got cancer and was looking for a nice bit of escapism only to find the complete opposite with this film. This happened only the other week with another of your films with similar content. "I appreciate why it wasn't in the synopsis for the film but do you think you could look into trigger filters." ‌ My Oxford Year was based on a novel of the same name by Julia Whelan, with the film written by Allison Burnett (Autumn in New York) and Melissa Osborne. Meanwhile The Inbetweeners writer Iain Morris was on board as director. Leading lady Carson, who also executive produced the film, explained why Morris' comedic brain was so important for the story. She told Netflix's Tudum: "Iain Morris created one of the most iconic pieces of British television, The Inbetweeners. "You simply cannot have a British romance without iconic British humor. Iain's vision of this film brought to life a sweeping, heartbreaking romance that is simultaneously grounded in laughter. In one scene, you can fall in love, have your heart broken, cry, and laugh — all in the same breath."

Emmerdale teases 'more drama' ahead as Charity and Vanessa give into passion

Emmerdale has teased the fallout to Charity Dingle and ex Vanessa Woodfield's shock kiss on Thursday night, teasing their 'old spark was burning bright' on the ITV soap There was a tease of an Emmerdale reunion for Vanity, as Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield shared a kiss on the ITV soap on Thursday night. But what happens next, and do the pair get back together? ‌ Viewers won't know until Friday's episode what happens after the pair gave into passion, years on from their split. But the soap has teased "more drama" will definitely be on the way, while remaining coy over what they mean and what it is linked to. ‌ It seems to be linked to Charity and Vanessa as it was revealed in a press release linked to the kiss on Thursday. It comes as Charity finds out she's pregnant next week, amid her agreeing to be a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah Sugden. ‌ When Charity feared the embryo hadn't taken after experiencing bleeding this week, after the transfer procedure recently, she confided in Vanessa. Feeling that she couldn't be around her husband Mackenzie Boyd or Sarah, she hit the bottle and ended up at Vanessa's home. As they opened up, Vanessa tried her best to comfort a distraught Charity who was blaming herself. As Vanessa sat down beside her on the sofa, Charity refused to leave after she suggested helping her home. ‌ Charity told her she wasn't ready to go home, and didn't want to be around her household so Vanessa said she could stay. But when she offered to make up a bed for her, Charity made her intentions clear. Declining the offer of the spare room, or Tracy's room in tis case, she said she wouldn't go in there unless Vanessa stayed with her "to keep her company". Vanessa was taken aback but before she could say anything Charity leaned in and kissed her. ‌ Vanessa appeared to kiss her back, with the soap teasing "it looked as if their old spark was still burning bright". The episode ended there before we could see what happened next and how Vanessa responded. But a teaser for the fallout released by the soap in a press release read: "Stay watching as more drama is set to unfold." So what is this in reference to, and could there be more Vanity drama on the way? With Charity featuring in more scenes next week, spoilers have not suggested a split for her and Mack or anymore scenes with Vanessa. But with it being so top secret, perhaps spoilers have been left out on purpose. Fans will just have to wait and see where the kiss leads. ITV commissions true crime series about one of Britain's 'most prolific sex attackers'

A new true crime series about the victims of 'one of the most prolific sex attackers in British history' has been commissioned by ITV. The four-part drama, Believe Me, will recount the story of three victims who were assaulted by John Worboys after he went under the cover of a licensed taxi-cab driver and later given the name Black Cab Rapist by the media. Advertisement Written by Bafta-award winning screenwriter Jeff Pope, the series features Slow Horses star Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Industry's Miriam Petche and Bloods actress Aasiya Shah, who will play the women Worboys sexually assaulted. Writer, director and producer Jeff Pope (Lucy North/PA) Worboys will be played by English actor Daniel Mays, who is best known for A Thousand Blows. Pope said: 'The series goes on an emotional journey with the victims of Worboys' attacks, showing what happened to them when they reported being raped and assaulted, the pain and indignity of the process and how this dehumanised them. 'But most shocking of all is how they felt that not being believed by the police and having the attacks recorded, essentially, as non-crimes, was as traumatising for them as the actual assaults.' Advertisement The series follows two women as they report sexual assaults by Worboys and their fight to have their allegations believed and investigated by the Metropolitan Police, leading them to take legal action against the force under the Human Rights Act. Aimee-Ffion Edwards (PA) Directed by Julia Ford, the series is filmed in Cardiff and will be produced with support from the Welsh Government via Creative Wales. Polly Hill, director of Drama at ITV, said: 'We are really proud to be working with Jeff Pope to bring this important story to screen. 'For too long, the women were not heard by the police, resulting in more victims and ultimately resulting in a landmark case brought against the Met. Advertisement 'Jeff's scripts, as always, are brilliant in bringing this difficult but important story to screen, and I am delighted that Julia Ford will be directing the piece.' The drama will air on ITV1 and STV and be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.
