Ramanan allocates RM100,000 to upgrade school facilities in Sungai Buloh

KUALA LUMPUR: Sungai Buloh Member of Parliament Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, who is also Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, has allocated RM100,000 under the Mesra Rakyat Project (PMR) to upgrade facilities at two secondary schools in his constituency.
The allocation involves SMK Sierramas and SMK Seksyen 4 Kota Damansara, each receiving RM50,000 for the construction of covered walkways, new classrooms, canteen repairs and other basic facilities that are in urgent need of maintenance.
"We want the children of Sungai Buloh to have access to the best education. Their schools must be equipped with safe, student-friendly facilities. This is an investment in the nation's future," said Ramanan, who is also PKR vice president, when officiating the programme on Saturday (June 14).
During the event, he also announced that over 10 outstanding SPM 2024 students from both schools would receive Special Education Incentives from Yayasan Bank Rakyat next week in recognition of their academic achievements.
Ramanan also personally contributed RM6,000 to SPM Excellence Award recipients from SMK Seksyen 4 Kota Damansara. – Bernama

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad are also expected to attend. The day's activities include a public health forum titled War on Sugar, healthy cooking demonstrations by the Health Ministry and financial literacy sessions under the Let's Save with NUR@PETRA initiative. Cybersecurity awareness is also on the agenda, with talks on scam prevention and a Kahoot-based quiz challenge. Cultural performances from traditional troupe Selendang Perak, buskers and prize giveaways round out the day's programme. Perak is the second state to host the large-scale PMR event, organised by the Prime Minister's Department's Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU) in collaboration with the Higher Education Ministry. The first edition was held in Tawau, Sabah from May 9 to 11.

PETALING JAYA: Dr Wee has congratulated SPM top students from Ayer Hitam. "Congratulations to the 152 students and their parents from the Ayer Hitam constituency (88 students from the Yong Peng state constituency and 64 students from the Semarang state constituency) who achieved excellent results in the SPM examination. "Among them, 25 students achieved Straight As. Well done to the parents for playing their parts in encouraging and supporting their children in their studies," said the Ayer Hitam MP and MCA president. Dr Wee and Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tian Soon presented incentives and certificates worth more than RM30,000 to the students for their outstanding academic achievements. "Wishing you all the best for a bright future ahead," said Dr Wee.
