Baseball: Dodgers' Yamamoto takes 3rd loss, Ohtani hits solo homer

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto had his worst outing of the season and designated hitter Shohei Ohtani hit a solo home run in a 5-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday.
Yamamoto (4-3) suffered his third loss after giving up two home runs, including a grand slam, in five innings of work at Chase Field.
Gabriel Moreno's grand slam to right-center broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning. Ketel Marte also homered off the Japanese right-hander to give the D-backs a 5-0 lead in the fifth.
Yamamoto, the National League Pitcher of the Month for March-April, allowed six hits while walking one and striking out four in an 88-pitch outing.
"(In the fourth) I issued a walk and hit a batter. After those basic mistakes, I surrendered a home run," said Yamamoto, whose ERA rose to 1.80 from 0.90.
"The way I loaded the bases was bad. I should reflect on that."
Brandon Pfaadt (6-2) outpitched Yamamoto with 6-1/3 scoreless innings.
Ohtani hit his 11th home run of the season with two outs in the ninth before Mookie Betts flied out for the final out of the game.
Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies leads the NL with 12 home runs.
