
UAE Cabinet approves six-year National Investment Strategy
The plan was unveiled on Monday during a cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed said the strategy aims to increase annual FDI inflows from AED 112 billion in 2023 to AED 240 billion by 2031.
Additionally, the plan seeks to grow the FDI stock from AED 800 billion to AED 2.2 trillion, with a focus on key sectors such as industry, logistics, finance, renewable energy and IT.

The Cabinet approved a National Policy for Combating Health Risks, designed to establish national response scenarios, enhance preparedness, and develop recovery and control plans for health crises and emergencies.
The Executive Regulations for Organ and Human Tissue Donation and Transplantation was also approved, ensuring better access to life-saving treatments for individuals suffering from conditions that can only be addressed through organ transplants.
The UAE now has more than 13 licensed transplant centres, with a 30 per cent increase in transplant procedures.
The Cabinet also reviewed the UAE's successful strategic partnerships with African nations, which have led to an 87 per cent increase in trade with Sub-Saharan Africa over five years.
Other significant announcements include the launch of the National Green Certificates Programme for sustainable buildings; and the Remote Work System from Outside the Country in the Federal Government, designed to leverage global talent and expertise outside the UAE to execute specialized job tasks and conduct studies relevant to government operations.
The Cabinet approved 28 international agreements, including economic partnerships with Malaysia, New Zealand and Kenya, plus security, logistics and governmental cooperation deals.
The National Digital Economy Strategy was also reviewed as the UAE targets an increase in the digital economy's GDP contribution from 9.7 per cent to 19.4 per cent.

We cannot allow governance failures to erode the public's confidence in our skills development system. These administrators have a clear mandate to restore integrity, enforce consequence management where necessary, and ensure that learners and workers are not prejudiced by institutional weaknesses. Our goal is to reposition SETAs so they can contribute effectively to the fight against unemployment, poverty, and inequality,' said Minister Buti Manamela. Brief biographies of the administrators Mr Matjie Lehlogonolo Alfred Masoga is a seasoned public leader with extensive experience in governance, economic development, and strategic management. He is the former CEO of the Musina-Makhado Special Economic Zone (MMSEZ SOC), Group Executive at the Limpopo Economic Development Agency, and former Deputy Speaker of the Limpopo Legislature. He holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including a Master of Management in Governance and Public Leadership, and is currently a PhD candidate in Public Affairs. Mr Dithabe Oupa Nkoane has more than 20 years' experience in public administration, governance, and infrastructure development. He has served as Municipal Manager and Section 139 Administrator at Emfuleni Municipality, Acting City Manager of Tshwane, Head of City Planning in Ekurhuleni, and CEO of the Municipal Demarcation Board. He holds a Master's degree in Town and Regional Planning and has extensive experience in financial recovery, organisational turnaround, and spatial development. Mr Zukile Christopher Mvalo is the current Deputy Director-General for Skills Development at the Department of Higher Education and Training, with direct oversight of all 22 SETAs, the National Skills Authority, and the QCTO since 2013. He has a strong legal background, holding an LLM, LLB, and Postgraduate Diploma in Employment Law, alongside a Master's in Public Administration. He has also held senior executive roles in local government and corporate services. Egypt: USD/EGP exchange rates slightly up on Wednesday
Arab Finance: The US dollar slightly rose against the EGP at the Egyptian banks on Wednesday, with the exchange rate recording EGP 48.55 for buying and EGP 48.65 for selling at Banque Misr at 2:10 PM. Likewise, the USD hit EGP 48.55 for purchasing and EGP 48.65 for selling at the Commercial International Bank Egypt (CIB) and the National Bank of Egypt (NBE).
