Comedian Milton Jones says he is ‘cancer free' after undergoing surgery
A statement from Jones to the PA news agency said: 'A few months ago, I had to stop my tour Ha!Milton because I needed treatment for prostate cancer.
'I'm glad to say I've had that treatment and am now cancer free!
'So, many thanks to all the doctors and nurses who helped me get better – I couldn't do their job (I tried, but apparently you have to be qualified).
'A big thank you to my family, friends, all those who helped reschedule things and the many others who have been so nice to me.
'Along with all those who have kept hold of their tickets for the shows that have been rescheduled and apologies to those whose shows we were unable to move.
'I have to admit there were a few dark moments when I wondered if anyone would ever see me again, but then I realised that I was leaning against the light switch.
'Thankfully I'm now in a completely different place, and if you look at my website, you'll see that very soon I'll be in lots of other different places on tour too – miltonjones.co.uk I hope to see you there.'
In April, Jones announced his diagnosis in an Instagram post where he explained he would be needing time to recover after undergoing surgery.
In the comments, Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, who has incurable stage four prostate cancer, said: 'Really sorry to hear it mate, best of luck.'

The comedian rescheduled some of his summer gigs and has now announced more than 20 new dates to take place across September, October and November in cities and towns that include Exeter, Guildford, St Albans, Newbury, Crewe, Wrexham and Bury St Edmunds.
His stand-up show, Ha!Milton, which is currently scheduled to end in November, is a play on words, making reference to the hit musical of the same name.
The NHS says prostate cancer develops slowly, so there may be no signs for years, but says symptoms may include an increased need to urinate, straining while urinating and a feeling that the bladder has not fully emptied.
Jones's career has seen him perform on Live At The Apollo, Lee Mack's All Star Cast and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow.

Speaking to the Special Forces staff on the show, an emotional Adam explains how he was diagnosed with depression. He struggles to get his words out before saying: "One of them was with my erm lost it was really close to getting there a second time and telling everyone." As the tears fall, the staff clarify that he's talking about a miscarriage and Adam nods. He adds: "I think I was proud of the fact that I was excited for it, which I didn't think I ever would be. "And when it got taken away, and it was 10 times worse for her, I think it hit us like a tonne of bricks. "We just really, really went to a bit of a bad place. And to be honest, in front of her I pretended I was cool, and pretended I was absolutely fine." Later in the episode, the tears flow again as the celebrities are tasked with reading out their 'death letters', which they were asked to write to their loved ones. As Adam stands up to read his out, he pays tribute to Laura and how much he is thinking of her, before saying: "The last few months have been really tough, but nowhere near as tough as you. What is miscarriage and why do pregnancies fail? MISCARRIAGE is generally the death of an unborn baby in the first 24 weeks – approximately six months – of pregnancy. Miscarriages may not be spoken about a lot but they are very common. Baby loss charity Tommy's estimates there are at least 250,000 per year in the UK and that one in every five pregnancies ends in miscarriage. It may not be clear why a miscarriage happens but they are rarely caused by anything done by the mother or father. Usually the embryo has a random genetic defect that means it cannot develop properly. Most women can go on to successfully have healthy babies in the future. The NHS says most miscarriages cannot be prevented but avoiding smoking, alcohol and drugs while pregnant can reduce the risk. Some of the other most common reasons for a pregnancy to fail in the first 24 weeks are ectopic pregnancy and molar pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is where a fertilised egg implants somewhere outside of the womb, usually in a fallopian tube. It cannot survive and grow there so either dies naturally or must be terminated. Molar pregnancy is rarer but happens when a fertilised egg and/or placenta does not develop properly at the start of a pregnancy. There is no single reason why it happens and cannot be prevented, though it may be more common in very young or old mothers. A baby who dies after 24 weeks is considered a stillbirth. ITV Coronation Street icon 'lined up' for I'm A Celebrity 2025 stint after quitting soap
A Coronation Street star could be going on a brand new adventure after leaving their beloved soap role behind A popular Coronation Street actor is rumoured to be joining the line-up for this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Adam Hussain, who plays Aadi Alahan, has been a fixture on the cobbles since his debut in 2006, alongside his twin sister Asha (Tanisha Gorey). Originally portrayed by Zennon Ditchett, Adam took over the role in 2020 - and it's safe to say Aadi's been embroiled in some serious drama. Particularly recently, as he inadvertently spiked Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) at a party last month. In an attempt to resolve financial problems arising from managing his father Dev's (Jimmi Harkishin) business, Aadi staged a fake robbery. When Dev discovered the truth, he was furious and demanded that Aadi leave the cobbles to live in India. Recognising it's time for a fresh start, Aadi agrees and decides to depart the cobbles, reports the Daily Star. Fans have been bracing for Aadi's exit since April, when actor Adam Hussain announced his departure from the ITV soap. On Instagram, he posted: "Over the five years I've spent there, I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little." Now, Adam is being tipped for a spot on a major reality show. Bookmakers Betway are confident he will enter the I'm A Celebrity jungle later this year, with spokesperson Mike Reading stating: "Adam Hussain looks set for a brand new adventure beyond Coronation Street." The Irish pop star and boyband heartthrob hasn't performed live in 10 months, having wrapped up his The Show world tour in Bogota, Colombia, last autumn before embarking on a hiatus. That same month, Niall and his One Direction bandmates – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik – were left heartbroken when Liam Payne died at the tender age of 31. Niall had spent time with Payne just weeks earlier when the Strip That Down hitmaker attended his concert in Argentina, not long before his fatal fall from a hotel balcony on October 16. Having taken some time away from the music scene following his late friend's funeral, Niall, 31, came back with a bang last night, stepping out onto a stage he's performed countless times: London's O2 Arena. He was a special guest for long-time friend and fellow music superstar Shawn Mendes, 27, who brought his On The Road Again tour to the capital. Celebrating hits from his decade in the industry, the Grammy-nominated Canadian songwriter was met with deafening screams upon introducing Niall to the crowd. The circumstances surrounding his death have been investigated intently by police in recent months, resulting in five individuals being arrested in connection, among whom were a friend of Payne, the hotel manager, two employees, and a waiter.
