The Tortured Poet's Department
' and '
1989 (Taylor's Version)
' are both in second and fourth position respectively.
See what you make of the Top 10 releases of the last decade:

Elsewhere, the best-selling vinyl albums of 2025 (so far) were revealed, with UK singer-songwriter Sam Fender topping the list with his third album 'People Watching'.
Not that Taylor was far behind, as her 'Lover (Live From Paris)' record came in second, an album which had a resurgence earlier this year thanks to special edition heart-shaped Valentine's Day release.
Here are the best-selling vinyl albums of 2025 so far:
Sam Fender – 'People Watching'
Taylor Swift – 'Lover (Live From Paris)'
Sabrina Carpenter – 'Short N' Sweet'
Lady Gaga – 'MAYHEM'
Chappell Roan – 'The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess'
Fontaines D.C. – 'Romance'
Kendrick Lamar – 'GNX'
Fleetwood Mac – 'Rumours'
Manic Street Preachers – 'Critical Thinking'
Billie Eilish – 'Hit Me Hard And Soft'
The most recent release in the list is Lady Gaga's 'MAYHEM'. In
our review
, we said: 'Through her varied approach to her music career, her multidisciplinary artistry, and excitingly unorthodox celebrity persona, Gaga has paved her own route to stardom. 'Mayhem' feels like the first time she's looked backwards. It's not a bad album at all, it's just not the sort of revolutionary work you hope for with a Gaga release.'
As for
Fontaines D.C.
and
Kendrick Lamar
's most recent albums,
they both made our Best Albums of 2024 list
.
Record Store Day celebrates its 18th edition this year and is celebrated globally on Saturday 12 April. Stay tuned to Euronews Culture for our preview of the must-have RSD releases of 2025.

Taylor Swift announces 12th album 'The Life of a Showgirl' for 'pre pre-order'
US popstar Taylor Swift announced her 12 th album, titled The Life of a Showgirl, for "pre pre-order" just after midnight Tuesday in posts on her website. Her online shop displayed blurred images of a record, CD and cassette tape overlaid with a glittery orange lock, explaining the album artwork would be "revealed at a later date." A disclaimer also notes that the release date has not yet been announced, and the album will ship before October 13. "So I wanted to show you something," the singer said in a video clip posted to her Instagram as she held up a vinyl album, its cover completely blurred. "This is my brand new album The Life of a Showgirl," she said in the clip from the New Heights podcast, hosted by her boyfriend, American football player Travis Kelce, and his brother, ex-NFL player Jason Kelce. "TS12!" Travis Kelce exclaimed in the video. The Life of a Showgirl is the follow-up to Swift's last studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which was released last year and sold 1.4 million copies the first day. Since 2021, she has been making good on her vow to re-record her first six studio records in a bid to own the rights to them. In May, the 14-time Grammy Award winner, who was locked in a feud with record executives since 2019 over the ownership of her music, said she had bought back the rights to her entire back catalog for an undisclosed sum. The 35-year-old songwriter shattered records with her nearly two-year-long Eras tour that ended last year. It raked in $2 billion over 149 shows around the world, making it the most lucrative tour in music history. Tickets for the tour sold for sometimes exorbitant prices, and it drew millions of fans.

Taylor Swift announces her 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl'
TS12 is a go. Following intense speculation over the last 24 hours, Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, titled 'The Life of a Showgirl'. Swift announced the album on her website shortly after a countdown timer expired at 12:12am ET (06:12 CET) this morning. This comes after Taylor Nation - an official branch of the pop superstar's marketing team - posted a TikTok slide show of 12 images with the caption 'Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…'' Swift is seen wearing orange in every image. Sensing a pattern, fans noticed that 12 minutes earlier, the popular New Heights podcast posted a teaser. The show, hosted by Swift's partner Travis Kelce, posted an orange image on social media with a mysterious silhouette. Then, a teaser video posted about her appearance showed her pulling the album from a briefcase. The actual album artwork, just as it is on her website, remains blurred for the time being. The podcast will drop at 7pm ET (1am CET) tomorrow, and it will mark her first appearance on her partner's show, despite the two being a couple since 2023. No release date has been announced, but her site says that vinyl editions of the album would ship before 13 October. You can pre-order your copy here. 'The Life of a Showgirl' follows last year's 'The Tortured Poets Department', which was announced during the 2024 Grammys and released during her record-breaking Eras Tour. The singer wrapped up the Eras Tour in December 2024, after playing 149 shows in 53 cities - a tour which raked in over $2.2 billion (approx. €1.9bn) across two years and five continents, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time. The album is also her first release since Swift regained control over her entire body of work. In May, that pop star said she purchased her catalog of recordings - originally released through Big Machine Records - from their most recent owner, the private equity firm Shamrock Capital. In recent years, Swift had been rerecording and releasing her first six albums in an attempt to regain control of her music. The albums became known as "Taylor's Versions". In our review of 'The Tortured Poets Department', we said: "Putting aside the daunting and overtaxing lore (I couldn't give a tinker's fig about which song is actually a dig at Matt Healy or Joe Alwyn, much like I prefer to listen to 'Style' or 'All Too Well' without thinking about them as missiles aimed at Harry Styles and Jake Gyllenhaal), 'The Tortured Poets Department' is rather good. It sounds like a mix of her vivid but typical ripped-from-the-diary lyrics and the synthy pop production of her previous album, 'Midnights'. (...) Sonically, it's not a leap forward or even a stylistic shift; lyrically, however, there's messy fun to be had." 'The Life of a Showgirl' - Release date: TBA.

Wax lyrical: Taylor Swift gets lucky 13 Madame Tussauds statues
In honour of Swift's lucky number, 13 of the waxwork museum's 22 branches will each receive a statue of the "Love Story" and "Blank Space" singer, in what it called the "most ambitious project" of its 250-year history. The statues were inspired by some of the 35-year-old songwriting sensation's looks from her record-shattering "Eras Tour" from 2023 to 2024. With 149 shows across the world over nearly two years, the tour raked in $2 billion, making it the most lucrative in music history to date. More than 40 artists worked for more than a year on the statues of Swift, one of the most acclaimed artists of her generation with 14 Grammy Awards. "This is the most ambitious project in Madame Tussauds' 250-year history, which only feels right to reflect the stratospheric status of Taylor Swift," said Danielle Cullen, the museum's senior figure stylist. UK-based Swifties are well served, with one waxwork slated for London and another for the northern seaside resort town of Blackpool. Another 10 will find a permanent home at the branches of Madame Tussauds in Amsterdam, Berlin, Budapest, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York, Orlando and Sydney. The thirteenth statue, which will travel around the remaining museums, will begin its worldwide walkabout with a residency at Madame Tussauds Shanghai.
