Fan Shares 'Worst Seat Ever' From MLB Speedway Classic

More than 85,000 packed the stands for the first ever MLB Speedway Classic on Saturday night before the baseball gods seemingly had other ideas.
The historic game was delayed by two hours after the skies opened up above iconic Bristol Motor Speedway and another suspension came down with just one out in the bottom of the first inning.
A lot was made of the experience for fans in the lead-up to first pitch but not everyone who bought a ticket was happy with the final product — especially those who were seated behind the home plate press box.
"Great view," a fan tagged MLB. "#SpeedwayClassic."
Others reacted to the brutally obstructed view on X.
"Selling seats like this to get the record smh," a user facepalmed.
"Wait… there's actually people who are sitting here? And paid for it???" another asked.
"That's criminal they sold tickets for those seats," a fan said.
"I know they're getting roasted for the logistics of this, but I give them credit for at least trying something different/original," another person posted.
"SHRINK THE GAME. Only thing cool about this game is the hat," another user exclaimed.
"MLB should be embarrassed by this," an account shared. "What a disaster."
"Weather aside, the more photos and videos I see of this event the more it confirms my opinion that this game was a horrible idea, stupid venue, and unless you were in the temporary stands right on the field your seats sucked and this is an awful way to watch baseball," another fan commented.
"Lmao ain no way."
"This looks joyous," a friend pointed out.
"Rob Manfred is so bad at his job it never ceases to amaze," a viewer replied.
According to the fan, all tickets were sold with an "obstructed view" tag but had no computer generated visualization of what they might be in for. So unfortunately for them they were just as surprised as the rest of the internet when they took their seats.
The game between the Braves and Reds is set to resume at 1 PM ET today and all tickets from last night will reportedly be honored for this afternoon as well. Here's to hoping for better weather (and a better view) on Sunday.Fan Shares 'Worst Seat Ever' From MLB Speedway Classic first appeared on The Spun on Aug 3, 2025
