Lee Chang-dong to return with Netflixs Possible Love

Agency: PTI Last Updated: Seoul, Aug 5 (PTI) Acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Lee Chang-dong is returning to the director's chair after eight years with 'Possible Love", a new movie from streaming service Netflix. The film, which is Lee's first project since 2018's 'Burning", follows the lives of two married couples living starkly contrasting lives. As the couples' worlds begin to collide, the drama explores themes of love, conflict and the quiet unravelling of ordinary existence, Netflix stated in a press release. Jeon will play Mi-ok, opposite Sul as her husband Ho-seok. The second couple – Sang-woo and Ye-ji – will be portrayed by Zo and Cho, respectively. The project reunites Lee with screenplay writer Oh Jung-mi, with whom he collaborated on 'Burning". The film is being produced by Pinehouse Film, alongside Anonymous Content and NOWFILM Co Ltd, and will be distributed by Netflix. Lee has carved a unique niche in world cinema with internationally acclaimed films such as 'Green Fish" (1997), 'Oasis" (2002), and 'Poetry" (2010). He won the Silver Lion for best direction at Venice Film Festival for 'Oasis" and a best screenplay award at Cannes for 'Poetry". The King of Pop and the Kings of K-pop, the rumors of a surprise collaboration between Michael Jackson and BTS became the hottest news in town on August 4. It was reported by The Irish Sun, after an interview with Grouse Lodge studio owner Paddy Dunning, that the septet has recorded an unreleased song, but now, the Korean act has come ahead and denied any such involvement in the upcoming tribute album and vowed to ensure a stop to the spread of misinformation. BTS is not working on a new song, originally written by Michael Jackson? Know what happened In an update on BTS' agency BIGHIT MUSIC's official X account, a notice was shared in Korean and English, addressing the reports making the rounds from the previous day. It denied being a part of the project or recording an unreleased song by visiting the famed Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland. The team is known to be in the USA currently, secluded in Los Angeles and away from prying eyes to work on their next album. Here's what was in the agency's statement. 'Hello! This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We would like to address recent media reports concerning BTS' alleged participation in a Michael Jackson tribute album. BTS has neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor taken part in any recording sessions at the location for the mentioned project. The group is not involved in the tribute album in any capacity. We are continuing to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of inaccurate information. We express our sincere gratitude to fans for continuously showing support for BTS. We remain fully committed to supporting the artists and their endeavors. Thank you.' Believed to have been planned during Michael Jackson's stay in Ireland in 2006 in an upcycled cow shed, the said unreleased tracks sat in the archives for about 2 decades. Early last year, reports of there being a tribute album, involving countless superstars from around the world, began making the rounds. The latest update coming from the studio owner himself seems to be more of a wish than reality, bumming out the fans of the two artists.

Comedian Zakir Khan opens up about meeting BTS; claims he thought K-Pop superstars were 'behind-the-scenes team'

Comedian Zakir Khan has shared a hilarious story from when he unknowingly got the chance to meet and spend time with K-Pop superstars BTS. The comedian recently shared how he met the members from the popular K-pop group, but sadly, at the time, he 'didn't know who they were'. In a recent interview with Lallantop, he recalled that he had to travel all the way to South Korea for an interview with a popular Korean celebrity that had been planned. He, however, was late to the venue and was grouped alongside BTS, who had also been in line to meet the celebrity. At the time, they were sharing the room, and while the comedian had taken notice of them, he did not know who they were. To make conversation, he had even ended up asking them about who they were, and the answer 'BTS' did not ring any bells for him. "I thought that the Korean organising team was called for a behind-the-scenes team. I was totally unaware of the fact that they are famous people," he admitted. Unknowingly, Zakir ended up spending almost 45 minutes in the same room with the superstars. He also delved into how he only found out about their popularity levels when he shared the incident with other people around him. He shared, "Later, when I told people that for 45 minutes I was in the same room as them, they fainted'.
