Comedian Zakir Khan opens up about meeting BTS; claims he thought K-Pop superstars were 'behind-the-scenes team'
The comedian recently shared how he met the members from the popular K-pop group, but sadly, at the time, he 'didn't know who they were'.
In a recent interview with Lallantop, he recalled that he had to travel all the way to South Korea for an interview with a popular Korean celebrity that had been planned.
He, however, was late to the venue and was grouped alongside BTS, who had also been in line to meet the celebrity.
At the time, they were sharing the room, and while the comedian had taken notice of them, he did not know who they were. To make conversation, he had even ended up asking them about who they were, and the answer 'BTS' did not ring any bells for him.
"I thought that the Korean organising team was called for a behind-the-scenes team. I was totally unaware of the fact that they are famous people," he admitted.
Unknowingly,
Zakir
ended up spending almost 45 minutes in the same room with the superstars. He also delved into how he only found out about their popularity levels when he shared the incident with other people around him. He shared, "Later, when I told people that for 45 minutes I was in the same room as them, they fainted'.

Blackpink's Rose is in disbelief over 8 solo VMA 2025 nominations: ‘I am beyond shocked..'
The 2025 MTV Video Music Award nominations just dropped, and among the standout names is Blackpink's Rose, who has officially made her mark as a solo artist. The K-pop singer-songwriter earned an eye-popping eight solo nominations, and her reaction? Total disbelief. Blackpink's Rose is in disbelief over 8 solo VMA 2025 nominations 'So I've just heard that I've received eight VMA nominations,' Rose said in a video posted to her Instagram Stories, clearly stunned and emotional. 'I am beyond shocked and I just don't know what to say. I'm absolutely speechless! This is a crazy day! Whoa! It's really, really wild! What's happening?!' She followed the video with a screenshot of her nominations and a caption that read simply: 'waaaahhh???' This marks Rosé's first time being nominated as a solo act at the VMAs, and her nods cover some of the night's biggest categories. She's up for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Visual Effects — all for APT., her Billboard Hot 100 No. 3 smash with Bruno Mars. She's also competing in Best K-pop for her solo single Toxic Til the End, the third track from her debut solo album Rosie. Her impressive nomination haul puts her on par with the most nominated artists of the year, tied with Sabrina Carpenter at eight. Only Lady Gaga (12), Bruno Mars (11), and Kendrick Lamar (10) have more, while Ariana Grande and The Weeknd follow closely with seven each. And Rosé isn't the only Blackpink member in the spotlight this year. Jennie's Like JENNIE, Jisoo's Earthquake, and Lisa's Born Again (a collab with Doja Cat and RAYE) have all received nominations for Best K-pop, marking Jennie and Jisoo's first solo nods outside of Blackpink. The 2025 MTV VMAs will air live on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 8 p.m. ET from the UBS Arena in New York.

BTS J-Hope's Sister Jung Ji-woo Slams ‘Pregnancy' Rumours: ‘Getting Out Of Hand'
Ji-woo, who has been married since 2021, has previously shared that she and her husband are planning to start a family. BTS member J-Hope's sister, Jung Ji-woo, has taken a strong stand against invasive and inappropriate social media comments regarding her personal life. The influencer and entrepreneur recently called out a section of internet users for spreading baseless rumours about her pregnancy and questioning her choices, calling the situation 'out of hand." In a pointed message shared via Instagram Stories, Ji-woo highlighted one particularly offensive comment that read in Korean, 'Aren't you pregnant? Or you lost the baby? There is no bump and you are wearing tight clothes and doing exercise," accompanied by a sad emoji. Shocked by the unsolicited speculation, she responded, '…? Was about to reply, but the comment disappeared. We're trying for a baby, but there's nothing to share yet. Still, I'm honestly shocked that someone I don't even know could ask such a personal and inappropriate question about our private life. Even my close friends wouldn't go there." She continued to express her frustration at the baseless rumours swirling around her. 'When did I ever say 'I'm pregnant'? I've said nothing, but some people here are making up stories like they're confirmed facts. Now it's gone from 'she's pregnant' to 'she had a miscarriage' to 'she's out drinking'? Seriously?" Ji-woo added, 'I've been ignoring it because it's so far from the truth, but it's getting out of hand. Show some respect, please." Ji-woo, who has been married since 2021, has previously shared that she and her husband are planning to start a family. In a March 2025 chat with her younger brother J-Hope, she openly talked about wanting a baby, a moment that was met with warmth and excitement. J-Hope had said at the time, 'If it's a nephew, I anticipate having so much fun with him," and added that he'd spoil a niece with gifts. BigHit Music launches new boy group CORTIS ahead of BTS' comeback — here's all you need to know
BigHit Music is officially stepping into its next chapter, and the timing couldn't be more perfect. With TXT continuing to grow and BTS gradually preparing for a full-group comeback, the label is ready to introduce something brand new. Their next project? A fifth-generation boy group that promises to shake things up in a major way. From music and lyrics to choreography and visuals, these boys are said to be hands-on from the start. Meet CORTIS: BigHit's new boy group of multi-talented teens The new group is called CORTIS, and it features five members: Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho. All teenagers but already involved in some major projects behind the scenes, including their work for TXT and ENHYPEN. It's clear BigHit isn't just introducing pretty faces - they're debuting producers, writers, and performers all rolled into one. The company calls them a "young creator crew," and from the sound of it, they won't be following the usual path. No set positions, no fixed formulas. Instead, CORTIS is being built around shared creativity and flexibility, letting each member shine where they're strongest. From whispers to the spotlight: How the debut came together Fans have been speculating for months about BigHit's next boy group. It all started back in April when reports had first surfaced about a new team that was in the works. By June, rumours turned into confirmations - people in the industry were already buzzing about a group in final prep stages. Then came mid-July, when BigHit finally pulled back the curtain and introduced the members, along with a confirmed debut date: August 18, 2025. It's been six years since TXT's debut, so naturally, excitement is sky-high. 🎼CORTIS🔗 #코르티스 BigHit's trio of boy groups is now complete With the arrival of CORTIS, BigHit Music officially has three active boy groups under its name. There's BTS, the global trailblazers who redefined what it means to be a K-pop group. Then TXT, who carved out their own identity with youth-driven narratives and a genre-bending discography. Now, CORTIS enters the scene, not as the younger sibling, but as a new creative experiment. Each group represents a different stage of BigHit's growth - and together, they form a powerful trio. What's interesting is how distinct each of them feels. Where BTS commands arenas, and TXT captures emotion through storytelling, CORTIS seems ready to turn the whole process inside out. What to expect from CORTIS' debut So what exactly will CORTIS bring on August 18? While full details are still under wraps, we know this much: the boys aren't here to play it safe. Some of them have already been credited on major releases. Martin and James, for example, helped shape tracks like Deja Vu and Outside. That's no small feat. It means they're walking in with real-world experience and creative confidence. The group's debut is being hyped as a mix of self-written songs, bold concepts, and choreography that comes from the members themselves - not outsourced professionals. It's rare to see a debut group given this much control, but BigHit seems ready to take that risk. – hello! this is a new acc dedicated to bighit new boygroup 'CORTIS' (Color Outside The Lines' 🎸 ; updating news info pic vids etc. please kindly show your love and support by RT and fav on our tweets, thank you! 📢#CORTIS #코르티스#BIGHITNBG #BIGHIT_NEW_BOYGROUP Meanwhile, BTS is getting ready to return As the industry buzzes over CORTIS, there's another reason fans are paying close attention to BigHit right now - BTS. With all members having completed their military service, whispers of a group comeback have only gotten louder. The latest word is that they're eyeing a spring 2026 comeback. The group is rumoured to be working with several producers in Los Angeles. Since their hiatus in 2022, they've each grown so much in their solo work, and fans are expecting their return to be more than just nostalgic, as it promises to be a new chapter, backed by years of experience, reflection, and evolution.
