Sabrina Carpenter fans threaten to 'leave' gig after 'truly British' moment

Daily Mirror09-07-2025
Fans of Sabrina Carpenter were left horrified before she came on stage at her recent BST gig, and some people said that if they were there and witnessed what happened, they would've 'left'
Sabrina Carpenter played BST Hyde Park in London at the weekend (July 5 and 6), and fans were given a real treat. From high-energy singing to the costume changes, it looked like a night to remember - for all the right reasons. However, there was something that left fans gobsmacked before the 'Espresso' singer even took to the stage.
Sabrina, 26, has caused quite a stir recently after unveiling the cover art for her upcoming album, 'Man's Best Friend'. The controversial image, which depicts Sabrina on all fours as her hair is gripped by a faceless figure in a suit, has a debate among fans. But that didn't stop them turning out in their thousands to see her, decked in adorable outfits.

However, TikToker Celina Stephenson was left gobsmacked when she turned up to see the petite pop princess and something kicked off, and some fans said they would've "crashed out and gone home".

Celina could be seen under an umbrella, screaming, with rain pouring down around her, coming around the umbrella as she looked amused, but also unimpressed that her cute outfit was potentially going to be ruined by the 'Great British summer'.
Gig-goers could be seen walking around in short shorts and cowboy boots, borrowing their friends' hoodies instead of using umbrellas, desperately trying to shelter from the huge downpour as the heavens opened.

"I'm not walking," Celina fumed as she stayed put under her umbrella, filming the field, which was swiftly becoming muddier by the second.
Water started to pool in the grass as brave fans ran through the mud, and some even danced in the rain near the stage as everyone else took shelter.
Celina filmed herself wading through the water, which appeared to reach her calves - meaning she was probably grateful to be wearing knee high boots and a short skirt, so she was able to dry off fairly quickly when the weather finally returned to normal.

In the comments, people who went to Sabrina's first night were left mortified, writing: "Wait I'm so confused when was this because I was there and it wasn't like this at all?? Did she do a second night and I didn't know?"
Someone clarified that this was the "second night, during Amber Mark's set".
"Please, please, please, stop raining," a fan joked, playing on Sabrina's song 'Please, Please, Please'.

Somebody who was there on the rainy night penned: "The thunderstorm warning that came after telling us to seek shelter in the middle of Hyde Park was so funny, not gonna lie".
Another wrote: "If this isn't a true representation of British weather I dunno what is. There were videos of everyone vibing in the sun yesterday".
"And I'd be right there too in the trenches, I know that's right," somebody said.
A TikTok user said that the weather was "perfect" for them the day before, and they were questioning why it wasn't "rescheduled" because of the downpour. But others said that the rain soon cleared up and fans were able to enjoy the show when Sabrina came on at 9.07pm.

TikTok user @brunarobertson shared: "Nothing can hurt me... I will never forget how my cake lady nearly ruined the most important day of my life, this cake cost me £300.... She delivered it late & in 3 pieces and just told us to 'put it together...' "This is how she delivered... I still cry looking at these pictures because I had an image of our cake & us cutting it, to me it was the most important part of the ceremony and she absolutely ruined it. 'When I got to the venue and I saw the cake, my heart literally sunk and I wanted to cry, it was too late to do anything about it as the guests were walking in - she really ruined the cake part. 'Every time I walked past that cake I felt rage and sadness, like that cake put me in a foul mood on my wedding day!' The bride said her aunt had tried her best to 'fix' the cake - which reminded her of the Leaning Tower of Pisa - for the ceremony, and admitted: 'If it wasn't for her I would have been so devastated.' She continued: 'The cake is not at all what I imagined, it was falling apart! 'This woman is someone I will always carry in my heart, £300 down the drain & I was honestly shattered!" Thankfully the aunt was able to assemble the cake and add some flowers to make it look pretty for the cake cutting. However, the bride said the experience wasn't at all what she had wanted on her special day. I'm horrified by what an Etsy seller did to my beautiful wedding bouquet - people agree it looks 'awful & tacky' Many people were quick to comment on the video, with many offering support. One said: 'This is absolutely ridiculous, as a professional baker who sets up and delivers tiered cakes I cannot believe this! 'I hope you received a full refund! Shocking!' 3 People were quick to share their sympathies (file photo) Credit: Getty A second added: 'This was your wedding something you've dreamed of, you paid money and didn't receive what you asked for, people take things out of context, I'm sorry you had to deal with that.' The bride replied: 'I get that there are worse problems with the world, I fully understand that it was a privilege to have a wedding but I'm also entitled to feel upset about it.' However, one said: 'If this was 'the most important part of your wedding day' you're missing the point of getting married.'

'I made DIY Cadbury treat from 2014 with something people didn't expect'

The simple recipe brings back a treat that's been unseen for years - but some were left scratching their heads at one ingredient Cadbury chocolate fans know all too well the pain of losing a beloved limited-edition flavour, and even some long-standing classics. But, some resourceful fans are taking matters into their own hands when the chocolate bosses won't by recreating these treats at home. ‌ TikTok user Paige (@paigebakedthat) couldn't hide her disappointment when she said: "You're wrong if you don't agree that Ritz and Dairy Milk brought out the best chocolate bar, but I've had enough of waiting, so I had to make my own. Believe it or not, this chocolate bar got discontinued in 2018, and not a day goes by that I don't think about it." ‌ The keen baker and self-proclaimed 'foodie' confessed that while she's tried similar snacks, "nothing compares" to the original. However, with Ritz crackers and Dairy Milk chocolate readily available on supermarket shelves, she saw no reason why she couldn't whip up the "perfect combination" herself. ‌ Her method was simple - line a muffin tray with paper cases and sandwich melted Dairy Milk between two Ritz crackers. After letting them chill in the fridge, she was ready to enjoy a homemade version of the much-missed treat, reports the Express. Paige shared how quick and easy it was to make these delights, claiming they hit the spot for "everything [she has] been craving" since Cadbury decided to discontinue the real deal. In a plea that has now taken TikTok by storm, Paige urged Dairy Milk and Ritz to resurrect her "absolute favourite" chocolate bar, but until then, she's happy to settle with her DIY alternative. ‌ A TikTok clip showcasing Paige's unique recipe has racked up over 84,000 views and sparked a flurry of comments, with viewers doing a double-take at her choice of ingredients. One user said: "Not the cheese ones!" while another added: "I think it's supposed to be the salted ones, deffo not the cheese ones!" A third commented: "I didn't expect the cheesy ritz!" Despite the unconventional mix of cheese and chocolate, Paige stood by her creation, replying: "Honestly, it's still so good!" The culinary experiment won lots of admirers on TikTok with food fans praising the simple yet "genuis" recipe. Another viewer said: "Omg I'm so glad I've seen this, I thought I was imagining the Ritz dairy milk as nobody knew what I was talking about! I'm so going to make these!" Someone else wrote: "I bet these taste better than the real ones!" ‌ Someone else put: "NEED THESE! Why have I never thought to do this before!" And, another was thrilled: "Omg as a vegan who always wanted to try those bars this is genius. I need to try these with vegan chocolate!" The Dairy Milk Ritz collaboration, which first appeared on shelves in 2014, featured small rectangular salted Ritz crackers rather than cheese-flavoured ones, unlike Paige's homemade version. Fans were left disheartened when the sharing-sized bar was discontinued in 2018, and Cadbury confirmed on X (then Twitter) that the product had been axed. The prominent chocolate maker is known for regularly refreshing its product line-up, which often means losing out to some treats to make room for new ones. Recently, shoppers have been treated to unique flavours like Cola Fizz and S'mores, as well as an Iced Latte version. Yet, the longing for beloved but discontinued favourites never ends. A glance at Cadbury UK's social media reveals that chocoholics have been pining for a comeback of classics such as the Dream, Dairy Milk Crispies, Fuse, and Spira bars to name just a few. Besides social media, Cadbury also welcomes suggestions directly on their website via a dedicated form. Thanks to fan feedback, several chocolate bars have enjoyed nostalgic comebacks, even it was only temporary, so it's always worth making your case to Cadbury - you might not be alone in your craving!

Love Island fans clock the ‘real reason' Meg and Dejon voted for Yas and Jamie in tense villa game

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island fans say they've clocked the 'real reason' that Meg and Dejon voted for Yas and Jamie, in a tense villa game. After the Meet The Parents episode, the Islanders played the game 'couple goals' with Meg and Dejon as hosts. It turned out to be a very tense game, heightened when Meg and Dejon voted Jamie and Yas for the 'most likely to care how they're perceived' category. Dejon and Yasmin have notoriously not seen eye to eye during their time on the dating show. And now, Love Island fans have speculated that Meg and Dejon feel threatened by Yas and Jamie, as one person wrote on X: 'Meg and Dejon deffo know Yas and Jamie are strong contenders. #LoveIslandUK.' A second person added: 'Not meg and dejon going after yas and jamie now bc theyre the strongest couple.' And a third person echoed: 'It's obvious what is happening here. Meg and Dejon know Yas and Jamie are winners and they feel threatened.' Dejon's behaviour on the show has come under scrutiny from fans and, more recently, from his sister, who visited during Meet The Parents. Gene and her mum Demelza paid Dejon a visit as part of the iconic episode. Love Island's Dejon declares his love for Meg as they become boyfriend and girlfriend The duo have since faced a backlash from fans who have accused them of glossing over Dejon's flirty behaviour with bombshells in the villa and "enabling" the curt way he has spoken to some of the girls like Billykiss and Yasmin. On one occasion Dejon bluntly told Billykiss that she was after 15 minutes of fame by commenting on his relationship with Meg. He rudely rated Yas's kissing skills zero out of 10 during a challenge and didn't like it when she claimed he was acting up just to keep partner Meg happy. While on another occasion he refused to speak with Yas when she politely asked him for a conversation. Gene insisted she gave Dejon a dressing-down during her visit and called out his more controversial moments, however none of it made the cut. Speaking on TikTok, she said: "Me and mum, literally straight away, went in on him. I grilled him for five minutes straight and they didn't show any of it. Not even a single second. I just think it's crazy what they actually choose to put in the show." She continued: "I told him about himself 'the way you handle situations sometimes you should handle in a better way'... I told him there's a lot of things you have to change when you come out of the villa. "So many things in that conversation were spoken about and they showed 10 seconds of the conversation. We grilled him so much." She finished by saying that while people can believe what they want to believe, she is "not an enabler" and will tell her brother and her siblings how she really feels. There was a giveaway clue that Dejon had been on the receiving end of some home truths in the episode when he told his family: "You lot just come in to cook me or what?" Viewers of Gene's video seemed to back her version of events, with one commenting: "Tbh I believe her. I actually noticed when Shakira was having a conversation with her mum about Harry how choppy the editing felt. If you go back and watch it's very obvious at times that they cut away from her mum talking mid-sentence." Another said: "Fair enough! I'll give her the benefit of the doubt - his mum still didn't need to add that bit about apologising to Yasmin." A third said: "It's not that his family didn't say things that excused his behaviour because they did, we heard that, but I do believe they grilled him too. Dejon seemed quite shaken after. They don't always show that balance though, because it's not as entertaining."
