Al Rayyan dominated the match and achieved a major accomplishment to add to its impressive continental and international record.
Al Rayyan officially qualified for the 2025 FIVB World Club Volleyball Championship to be held at the end of this year under the auspices of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
Al Rayyan secured their place in the final after a (22-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 17-15) victory over Japan's Suntory in the semifinals.

Al Rayyan, seven others clubs to compete in Gulf Club Champions League 2025-26
QNA Doha Eight clubs including Qatar's Al Rayyan will be participating in the Gulf Club Champions League 2025-2026, it was announced by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) on Monday. The following clubs nominated by the member national associations will be competing in the tournament: Al Rayyan of Qatar, Al Ain of the UAE, Sitra of Bahrain, Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia, Zakho of Iraq, Al Nahda of Oman, Tadamon Hadramaut of Yemen, and Al Qadisiya of Kuwait. This announcement comes as part of ongoing preparations for the launch of the second edition of the tournament, which aims to enhance football competition between Gulf clubs and provide a professional platform for exchanging technical expertise and developing the game's level in the region. Iraqi club Duhok SC had won the inaugural edition of the Gulf Club Champions League defeating Kuwait's Al Qadisiyah SC 2-1 in the second leg of the final, following a goalless draw in the first leg.

President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and First Vice-President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani held separate meetings on Monday with President of the Japanese Olympic Committee Seiko Hashimoto, HRH Vice-President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, and First Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Otabek Amrulov, on the margins of the 2025 World Aquatics Championships currently held in Singapore. Throughout these meetings, they explored ways to enhance sports cooperation between QOC and its Japanese, Saudi, and Uzbek counterparts and shared perspectives on the foremost sport issues on the Asian stage, particularly in the areas of athlete development and exchange of expertise at the technical and administrative levels. In addition, the meetings tackled the ongoing preparations for the Asian Games Nagoya 2026 and the Islamic Solidarity Games Riyadh 2025, and addressed avenues for joint cooperation to organize these events in a manner that aligns with the aspirations of the Asian sports movement.
