German Shepherd and Retriever have puppies and not everyone happy with result
An Instagram reel has gone viral, amassing over 2.4 million views, 82 thousand likes, and 766 comments at last count.
A content creator's rescue dogs are causing quite the stir, igniting both adoration and lively discussion amongst canine enthusiasts.
The Instagram account @lifewithgoldenshepherds regularly posts reels featuring their two rescue pups, Bear and Nala, much to the delight of online viewers.
The dogs, referred to as Golden Shepherds, are a charming mix of a golden retriever father and German shepherd mother, as explained in the clip.
"They are a perfect combination of loyal, alert, protective and sweet!", proclaims the text overlay, adding, "and that's my life with Golden Shepherds.", reports the Express.
The caption accompanying the viral footage states: "Meet our Golden Shepherd: loyal like a German Shepherd, loving like a Golden Retriever. You get the fluff, the smarts, and the snuggles in one perfect package. Tag someone who needs to know about this amazing breed!".
The digital creator's post has been flooded with glowing remarks and affection for the pair, with one Instagram user commenting: "That's gotta be the best mix ever. Loving and derpy like goldens but smart and trainable like shepherds!".
Meanwhile, another user shared: "I have a golden shepherd as well except she's gold with the pointy ears. Seriously the best of both breeds!" One dog lover playfully commented: "I feel like mine, who I adopted when he was 9 months old, got the hyper energy of a Shepard, the intelligence of the golden and the bravery of a chicken. Also he would sell all our secrets for a bone."
Another user gushed: "Omg golden fluffy protecting sweethearts? ! I think I want one."
However, not everyone was pleased with the creator's choice of words in referring to their dog as a 'breed', with one user writing: "Breed? This is a MUTT. stop purposefully breeding dogs and calling them their own breeds. Adopt don't shop, anyone breeding dogs like this should be ashamed of themselves."
Another individual wrote: "Not a breed, only breed this is backyard breed. Ethical breeders don't make mutts."
While one argued: "Absolutely nothing wrong with loving your pups but let's not promote unethical breeding practices."
And a fourth disgruntled user said: "Stop glorifying mixed breeds. If you want one, go to a shelter. This rubbish will just give backyard breeders more ideas on what mutts they can exploit next.
"Glad they are rescues," one user commented, "But humans being disgusting and greedy as they are, I can see someone intentionally seeking out a designer mutt."
The reel's comment section points to a wider dialogue in the pet community about ethical breeding and the importance of adopting pets versus buying them from breeders.

Love Island fans convinced show couple have secretly SPLIT after spotting tell-tale sign
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island fans have been left convinced that one show couple have already split as the show comes to an end. Eagle-eyed viewers think it is all over for one recently rekindled pair who were dumped from the ITV2 show just days before the final. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 4 Love Island fans think Conor and Megan have already split Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 4 Conor failed to acknowledge Megan in his thank you post after the villa Credit: Instagram Megan and Conor managed to rekindle their connection after the Irish stunner re-entered the villa for a second time this series. In a telling move, Conor failed to acknowledge or thank his villa partner Megan in his post-villa social media message. Taking to Instagram after being booted and just moments before the final, Conor wrote: "The craziest 8 weeks of my life. Thank you so much for all the support. "Hope I did all you guys proud, especially my Irish people." Conor went on to share a series of snaps with his fellow axed Islanders but failed to post a photo with Megan. He further congratulated winners Toni and Cach in another social media snub to Megan. Viewers watching along at home were also left trying to spot them together in the audience with many claiming they could not be seen - fuelling further speculation that the pair could have secretly split over the weekend. One fan wrote online: "I havent seen Conor and Megan together all night!!" As another added: "Anyone spotted that Conor and Megan were sat apart?!" Elsewhere, when Megan was brought up to the sofa to be interviewed by Maya, she was not joined by Conor. Love Island champs Toni and Cach reveal how they'll spend £50k winnings as they beat Shakira and Harry Fellow couples Tommy and Lucy and Ben and Andrada were featured together in the segment. Megan and Conor were dumped from the villa just days before the final after failing to be voted as one of the most compatible couples in the villa. Following their show axe, fans noticed how Megan and Conor did also tellingly not return for the show's final vote - which resulted in the axe of Dejon and Meg. On Sunday night, 18 former Islanders returned to the villa to vote out one couple from the new bottom two, which comprised of Angel & Ty and Meg & Dejon. Fans quickly noticed the couple's absence and questioned why they did not take part despite still being in Spain and appearing on After Sun. The Sun can now reveal the real reason why Megan and Conor were absent from casting a vote with the other Islanders. "They were dumped as part of the public vote that also decided who was in the bottom two couples - so it wouldn't have been fair to let them vote," a source told the The Sun. "The vote was only for people who had been axed in previous dumpings, not the current one." 4 Megan was not joined by Conor in her first screen interview Credit: Shutterstock Editorial

Supernanny star Jo Frost says 'you need to hear this' as she issues advice to all parents
Jo Frost, who shot to Channel 4 fame as Supernanny in the early 2000s, has issued advice she claims all parents 'need to hear today' in order to help combat a 'drip-fed' bad habit Jo Frost became a household name in the early 2000s as a result of her Channel 4 series, Supernanny, in which she spent time with parents struggling with the behaviour of their troublesome children. Today, the 55-year old issues advice via social media and her latest post is something she claims all parents and carers "need to hear" today. "Social media didn't barge into your home... it crept in drip by drip," Jo began in an Instagram video. "And now it is quietly causing chaos." But what does the expert mean by this? Describing it as a "smart drug", she went on to explain how social media has resulted in particular in the downfall of families talking over dinner. "Teens live in a state of FOMO [fear of missing out] instead of JOHO [joy of hanging out]," she continued. However, Jo pointed out that the lack of interactions amongst family members isn't solely down the behaviour of children. "Parents scrolling past bedtime stories... past real connection," she said. "And partners? They're strangers on the same sofa. We say it's not that bad, but our nervous systems are screaming, 'I can't take it anymore!'" According to Jo, the "truth" is the mobile phone has become the "socially accepted vice" and we have become "functioning social media addicts". Despite this, there is "good news". The television star elaborated: "We can change it if you care enough to try. Put down the phone. Talk. Listen. Feel Awkward. Reconnect. "Because while you're numbing out, those tech companies are cashing in on the collapse of your family's foundations. Self discipline isn't sexy? Oh hell yeah it is. And it saves lives." So what can families to do to eradicate the bad habit over mobile phone over usage? "Use it as a tool, don't let it use you," she declared. "It needed to be said." Proving Jo's advice has the potential to work, one Instagram user penned in response: "I started putting down my phone as I realised everything will still be there and started organising many things and my mind feels so free and in control." A second person praised: "Thank you, Jo for sharing the message that we're all thinking and struggling to deal with." A third individual suggested: "Talks in schools from Jo Frost, that's what we need. She should be on the curriculum as well as in our homes and our hearts." Whilst a fourth Instagram user shared: "I am a mum of twins and I make a conscious effort to not be on my phone in front of them. It is always nearby, for photos but I limit my social media use to nap times and once they are in bed! "They are the only children I plan to have and I don't want them growing up remembering me looking at my phone all the time. I want to be a present figure in their lives, I want to watch them grow up."
