Cisco projects upbeat quarterly revenue as AI fuels networking equipment demand

Reuters Cisco Systems forecast first-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates on Wednesday, as the artificial intelligence boom boosted demand for its networking equipment from cloud customers. Hyperscale cloud investments are healthy and driving IT infrastructure financing, which sets up a good backdrop for Cisco. "Within the enterprise spending environment, there is incremental spending to beef up the infrastructure to accommodate AI, so that could potentially be another growth driver, especially with Cisco having such a big presence in the traditional enterprise market," Edward Jones analyst David Heger said. Big tech firms such as Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet are ramping up spending to ease capacity shortages that have limited their ability to meet AI demand, even after several quarters of multi-billion-dollar outlays. Cisco's AI infrastructure orders exceeded $800 million in the fourth quarter, bringing the total for fiscal 2025 to over $2 billion, more than double its original target, CEO Chuck Robbins said on a post-earnings call. The company has not seen any pull-forward in demand for products, but did note a small impact from tariffs in the quarter and during the fiscal year, he added. "We expect the sovereign AI opportunity to build momentum in the second half of fiscal 2026. Cisco will be a core system provider for these significant AI training and inference cluster build outs and integral to their development and eventual hyperscaling." Cisco has partnered with Humain, Saudi Arabia's state-backed AI company, and it will provide digital solutions for Bahrain's government information and telecommunications infrastructure. The company expects revenue to be between $14.65 billion and $14.85 billion for the first quarter, compared with analysts' average estimate of $14.62 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG. Its revenue for the fourth quarter ended July 26 came in at $14.67 billion, compared with estimates of $14.62 billion. Networking product orders grew in the double digits during the quarter, driven by webscale infrastructure, switching, enterprise routing, industrial IoT and servers. Arjun Tendulkar gets engaged: Who is Saaniya Chandhok, the cricketer's fiancée and granddaughter of business tycoon Ravi Ghai?

Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, got engaged to Saaniya Chandhok on Wednesday in a private ceremony, Indian Today reported. The 25-year-old Arjun currently plays for Goa in domestic cricket after making a move from Mumbai. He is also a part of the Mumbai Indians squad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In 17 first-class matches, Arjun has taken 37 wickets, including a five-wicket haul, and scored 532 runs. He has one century and two fifties to his name. In IPL, he has taken three wickets in five matches at an economy of 9.36. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Who is Saaniya Chandhok, Arjun Tendulkar's fiancée? Meanwhile, Saaniya Chandhok is reportedly the daughter of Mumbai businessman Gaurav Ghai and the granddaughter of tycoon Ravi Ghai, who heads the Graviss Group, a hospitality, frozen food and real estate conglomerate. The Graviss Group runs the Baskin Robbins' India operations. As per the Economic Times, Graviss Food Solutions Private Limited posted a revenue of Rs 624 crore in FY23-24, a 20% rise from the previous year. Its authorised capital stands at ₹2.23 crore, with a paid-up capital of Rs 90,100. While it's not known if Saaniya Chandhok is also involved with the Graviss Group, it has been reported that she runs the Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP, a pet grooming and care business based out of Mumbai since 2022. Family feud in Ghai family As per a report in the Free Press Journal, the relationship between Ravi and his son Gaurav is not very good. Ravi, in July 2025, filed a complaint at Mumbai's Marine Drive Police Station against his son, accusing him of forgery and taking control of the Graviss Group by fraud. Ravi claimed that the forgery took place when he was recovering from a cancer treatment, as his son created a supplementary Family Settlement Agreement using his forged signature and took full control of the company. He also stopped Ravi's monthly allowance of Rs 12.5 lakh. 'Whenever I returned to India after receiving treatment, Gaurav and his wife Sumita would come to me and ask for my signatures on various documents, stating that they were necessary for the business. Since I was distressed due to my illness and had no reason to suspect my son, I would sign the documents brought by my son and daughter-in-law without thoroughly examining them. During this period, Gaurav used to give me Rs 12.5 lakh per month for my expenses," his complaint read. 'I did not suspect my son or his wife, nor did I have the physical or mental condition to suspect what was happening. After that, in January 2025, I did not get any money from Gaurav. When I asked, he said, 'Wait a bit, the money will come'. Till April I did not receive any money. My chief financial officer Farangilal Baburam Goyal told me that he has come to know that Gaurav has made himself the self-proclaimed chairman of the company and has taken full control of my company." STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The police, however, did not file the FIR and have referred the matter for arbitration.

Tehran Movie Review: A Gutsy, Bold And Gripping Geo-Political Thriller

Director – Arun Gopalan Starring – John Abraham, Manushi Chhillar, Neeru Bajwa, Hadi Khajanpour Rating – 4 Running Time – 118 Minutes In the world of commercial action thrillers and blockbuster formulaic mega movie, Tehran comes as a breath of fresh air, this one isn't just an intelligent and well-crafted piece of cinema, its bold, raw, real, and doesn't mince words when it comes to hitting the audience with truth and dirty tactics of geo-politics, and hardworking honest operative, who wants nothing but the best for their own country. Arun Gopalan handles the feud of two nations, Israel and Iran, which trickled onto the streets of India, with care, brilliance and well thought out narrative and where it will end. In 2012, when an diplomat of Israel gets bombed by an Iranian radical on India soil, it opens up a whole can of worms about international conflicts, espionage, warring nations, killing of innocents and vested interest of bureaucrats. The film doesn't hold back anything and present a gripping narrative of how things are, rather than what media presents. Bombing in Delhi results in many being injured, but one innocent flower vendor girl dying, John Abraham as Rajeev Kumar, DCP special cell, who is a force to reckon with, and doesn't need permission to right by an innocent, is called to solve the bombing. As it happens, he knew the little girl. Surprisingly, John Abraham taps into his more mature side, and delivers a controlled and yet powering performance. He doesn't go into over the hill action routine, but keep it nuanced, contained and his silence doesn't the talking. He is a hard man, but with a heart of gold, but who understands greater good, and sacrifice that comes with responsibility. This could very well be the most real and saw performance by John Abraham. Tehran also features Manushi Chhillar as SI Divya Rana, this is first ever action thriller for her, and she has handled her role with grim grip. Whether it's a chase, shooting or hand combat, she is prefect in every blow. Established and seasoned actress Neeru Bajwa as Sheilaja has a certain duality to her role, she is someone who is a prefect field operative, and yet she can handle international espionage and diplomacy with ease, she delivers a stellar performance. Now the real star of the movie, Hadi Khajanpour as Asraf Khan, he is the villain every hero needs, he is merciless and relentless with his believes. The moment he walks on the screen, you know he is an evil man, his performance is that good. The script is penned by Ritesh Shah, Bindni Karia and Ashish Verma, the trio has crafted a brilliant and well researched story which tackles the complexity of feuding nations, international politics, diplomacy, and the tightrope Indian government plays which tackling tricky overseas issues. The best thing about the film is, it's not preachy. Ketan Sodha has scored the music, and he has done a marvellous job. Akshara Prabhakar editing skill maintain the much needed pace for the narrative. Arun Gopalan had crafted every character with details, and he has allowed them to develop on-screen, they all have their own purpose, reason, backstories, and objective, which makes it a complete and wholesome watch. The filmmaker has kept the action quotient in-accordance to the narrative, so it's real and epic, every explosion, chase, and showdown is needed and take the narrative forward. The film is visually stunning, the colour palette is varied and diverse, ranging from rusty dark lanes of Delhi to barren landscapes of Abu Dhabi, the scale of the film is epic! The first half is amazingly crafted, but it's the second half where plot see a unexpected twist and its starts rushing to an epic climax. The once sanctioned operation soon turns unsanctioned for Rajeev, who is now hunted by Iran and Israel, and abandoned by his own government, he still finds the resources and resolve to do the right thing. Produced by Maddock Films and Bake My Cake Films, Tehran is packed with enough power that it fires on every cylinder – a rooted and realistic thriller!!
