I'm a beauty writer and found a way to get Medik8 £45 anti-ageing retinal for £4.50
The edit contains 11 dermatological skincare formulas each boasting high-performance ingredients, from brands including Medik8, Augustinus Bader and more
This Medik8 Crystal Retinal is worth £49 alone
Over the past year, I've found myself gradually moving away from trend-led skincare and leaning more into dermatological, science-backed formulas . As someone who has tested beauty products for a decade, I would apply almost any product to my face without a second thought - but over time, it's not been kind to my skin barrier, which has led me to a long-term skin health journey that focuses on clinical backing and proven ingredients.
Dermatological Skincare seems to be a growing trend for 2025, with retailers like Boots even having dedicated sections in store for such edits. Like many people, I've grown more aware of how ingredients impact the skin, particularly as I start to notice early signs of ageing and want to focus on prevention rather than short-term benefits.
One product I've been using as part of my nightly routine is the Medik8 Crystal Retinal 1, which is a potent retinal formula which is said to be 11x more powerful than regular retinol. The product is a firm favourite with This Morning beauty expert Nadine Baggott, who has worked her way up the various strengths of the product and claims it to be the secret behind her age-defying skin.

I received the sensitive-friendly, beginner version of the formula in a beauty Easter Egg earlier this year and as I approached the end of my tube, I was looking to purchase the next strength up. But at £49, I knew I - a self-confessed bargain hunter - would want to find some way to save a few quid on it. So when I spotted LookFantastic's Dermatological Edit containing the exact product I'd had my eye on, I knew it was worth a closer look.
The edit contains 11 dermatological skincare formulas each boasting high-performance ingredients. The haul is worth £170, but is priced at £50 , which is only £1 more than what I would have paid for the Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3 on its own.

LookFantastic Buy here Product Description
Discover everything you need to enter your best skin ever era, with 11 science-backed skincare heroes, formulated to target skin concerns.
I loved how the Crystal Retinal 1 gently introduced vitamin A into my routine without any irritation. I could have probably gone straight in with the Crystal Retinal 3, which is suited to 'beginners', but as I mentioned earlier, my skin barrier has had a bit of a tough time of late so I wanted to start super slowly and when I was ready to level up to strength 3, this box offered the most cost-effective way to do it.
Medik8's Crystal Retinal 3 delivers all the radiance and firmness I've come to expect, while remaining gentle on my skin, which is a big win. I apply it in the evening, follow with a moisturiser, and wake up to visibly smoother, more refreshed skin. And while I'd have happily paid £50 for the LookFantastic Edit solely for this formula, it's not the only impressive product tucked inside, with some of the most trusted names in derm-grade beauty - including La Roche-Posay, Augustinus Bader, Bioderma, and First Aid Beauty - also featured.
Augustinus Bader is a brand famously used by celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Aniston. A 15ml vial of their eye cream would usually set shoppers back £160, but the edit contains a mini version worth £32, allowing for a taste of luxury I'd have otherwise never afforded. I must admit, it's an incredibly indulgent cream that works wonders on my puffy under eyes, but it's not something I'd ever be able to justify rebuying. Maybe that's the downside to curated edits offering insane value like this, because I get hooked on products that my bank balance won't stretch to when I run out.
Augustinus Bader's eye cream - this mini version is worth £32
I was also impressed by the Bioderma Sebium Kerato+ Anti-Blemish Gel-Cream, worth £18, which has been formulated for blemish-prone skin and works to improve skin texture and refine pore visibility. Meanwhile, the Cetaphil Daily Defence Cream SPF50 with UVA/UVB filters, has become a daily essential, not just for when the sun peeks out, but to help prevent early signs of ageing.
I wasn't a fan of every single product inside the edit, though. The [coat]s Purifying Hydrating Clay Cleanser is a dual-action formula that removes excess oil and de-clogs pores, revealing refreshed, balanced skin. However, as someone with already quite dry skin, this wasn't suitable for me, but at least it didn't go to waste as I was able to give it to my sister, who does have more combination skin than me.
Everything inside the LookFantastic Dermatological Skincare Edit, £50
LookFantastic aren't the only retailer to be offering beauty buffs amazing value with a curated haul of products, though. That said, they were the only ones I could find offering a dermatological-specific edit.
Elsewhere, Boots has launched a Self Care Beauty Box that is valued at £137, but costs £34. Designed to promote daily self care and pampering, the edit features a handpicked selection of 12 skincare, haircare and body care goodies from brands like Estee Lauder, No7 and Wella. More than half of the contents are full sizes, too, each working out at £2.83 as part of the offer. By comparison, the items in the LookFantastic edit work out at £4.55 each.

Space NK has also got a fun haul, inspired by the viral TikTok trend, o f 'the everything shower' . The luxury edit of bath, body, and haircare costs £70 and is worth £165, boasting names like Sol de Janeiro, Living Proof and Alpha-H.

Beauty therapist hails Medik8's hyaluronic acid serum ‘unbelievable' for anti-ageing
If you're looking for skincare to hydrate your skin and get rid of signs of ageing, Medik8's hyaluronic acid serum checks all the boxes, with shoppers hailing it 'worth the money' When it comes to skincare, there are two things we almost always want from our routine; to leave our skin hydrated, and to help keep the signs of ageing at bay for as long as possible. If that sounds familiar, then Medik8's Hydr8 B5 Intense might be exactly what your skincare routine has been missing. The hyaluronic acid serum is a super-charged version of the brand's best-selling Hdry8 B5, with added ingredients to give your skin an instant boost of moisture within 24 hours. You can pick up a full size 30ml bottle for £59, or a travel-friendly 8ml size for £20, with shoppers praising it as 'definitely worth the money' in reviews. The main ingredient in the Hydr8 B5 Intense serum is multi-weight hyaluronic acid, which helps to attract and retain more than 1000 times its own weight in water. It draws moisture from the lower layers into the upper ones, creating a nourished, supple and hydrated glow. What sets this apart from other hyaluronic acid serums is the addition of other ingredients, including vitamin B5 which helps your skin to retain moisture and regenerate new cells for a plumper look. It's also charged with Natural Moisturising Factors (NMFs) like glycerin, five different amino acids, lactic acid and creatine to maximise hydration. You'll also find plenty of other antioxidant ingredients which help encourage collagen production and prevent moisture from breaking down in your skin. To get the most out of the Hydr8 B5 Intense serum, Medik8 recommends applying six drops to freshly cleansed skin morning and night – and don't forget your neck and décolletage. If you're not quite ready to spend £50 on the Medik8 serum, you could also snap up the La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum with Hyaluronic Acid instead. The serum is £45 for a 30ml bottle, and contains both hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 to hydrate and plump skin. Alternatively, The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (with Ceramides) is perfect for anyone on a tight budget, with a 30ml bottle priced at just £8.80, whilst a larger 60ml bottle is £15.50. It contains five forms of hyaluronic acid to help visibly plump and smooth skin, with pro-vitamin B5 to lock in moisture and ceramides to boost your skin barrier. However, Medik8 shoppers seem pretty convinced that the Hydr8 B5 Intense serum is worth splashing out on, with one saying: 'From a beauty therapist of 40 years, this product is unbelievable. So nourishing & anti aging, your skin will glow.' Another agreed: 'I Couldn't live without this serum! It has become a staple in my routine and the immediate effects are phenomenal. I love how quickly it absorbs into the skin leaving it hydrated, feeling firm, plump and glowy! I've had no dry skin since using this serum and it's one of my favourite medik8 products. Highly recommended and definitely worth the money.' Whilst a third said: 'Lovely, easy to apply product that has kept my skin calm and hydrated. Feels beautiful on the skin and settles quickly for the rest of the routine to be applied.' However, the Hydr8 B5 Intense serum wasn't such a big hit with everyone, with one writing: 'I think this is a MID products compare to others from Medik8. I didn't see lots of improvement and I finished all the bottle. I think you can find better hydration serums for less less money.' With a second chiming in: 'The feel of this serum is lovely but it doesn't seem to do that much for me. I do have quite dry tight skin in the winter so it was quite good for layering but I wouldn't repurchase.' However others can't get enough. One happy reviewer wrote: 'I have used this for a year or more and can see definite improvement on fine lines. It's light and silky does not linger on the skin so quickly absorbed, would highly recommend.' Another agreed: 'My skin has become more elastic and smooth, it glows and has a beautiful healthy look.'

Amazon's £30 anti-ageing tool shoppers say 'tightens sagging skin' for 'lifted' look
Amazon shoppers have found a budget-friendly option that helps to "tighten sagging skin" without the need for needles While there's no doubt that ageing is a privilege, it can often lead to changes in the skin's elasticity, which in turn can knock confidence. However shoppers have found an affordable device on Amazon that helps to 'tighten sagging skin' without the need to go under the needle. The VRAIKO Lily Neck Face Massager is usually £34.99, but it's currently reduced on Amazon. For a limited time, shoppers can pick it up for £27.99, saving £7 on the price tag. The device harnesses the power of triple action LEDs, with different coloured lights offering different skincare benefits. LED light therapy masks are very popular among celebrities and beauty buffs, with the Face Sculpting Tool implementing similar technology. 'I'm trying to cut down my alcohol intake and this 99p low-calorie drink converted me' Harrods beauty advent calendar returns after fragrance one sold out in 48 hours Designed to be used in conjunction with serums, firming creams or facial oils, the anti-ageing device is said to help skincare deliver '2x better results' compared to using them solo. As well as LED therapy, it also has three temperature modes, with the warmth said to 'boost the absorption of skincare products' while offering a spa-like experience at home. The wand vibrates on three different settings, also, providing a massage to the skin as users apply the device along the contours of their neck and face. According to the brand, between two and five minutes of use a day is enough to be effective. Anti-ageing face sculpting tool £34.99 £27.99 Amazon Buy here Product Description These kinds of tools are nothing new in the beauty world, with plenty of other options on offer, too. At LookFantastic, shoppers can pick up the StylPro Neck and Face Massager for £29.99. The neck and face massager works to visibly enhance the skin's firmness and suppleness. For something a little more professional, though, there's the TheraFace PRO by Therabody Facial Toning Device with Percussive Therapy, which retails at £375. TheraFace PRO is the all-in-one facial toning device with eight professional-grade treatments for a youthful, glowing complexion. It's said to reduce fine lines and wrinkles; contour, smooth and tone skin; reduce puffiness; reveal cleaner, clearer skin; and so much more. However, the budget-friendly Amazon device has earned an impressive 4.3-star rating based on more than 3,500 reviews, with some hailing it as a 'game changer'. One said: 'I love this face and neck massager. It's easy to use, and the warmth combined with LED and vibration makes my skin feel firmer and more refreshed. After a couple of weeks, I've noticed a real difference in the tightness of my skin. A great tool for self-care and anti-ageing.' Another added: 'The VRAIKO Lily Neck & Face Massager is a game-changer. After just a few uses, my skin feels firmer, smoother, and more lifted. The combination of heat, LED light, and gentle vibration creates a relaxing, spa-like experience right at home. It's easy to use, comfortable to hold, and the white design looks so elegant. I've seen noticeable improvement in my jawline and neck area – perfect for anyone looking to tighten sagging skin and fight signs of ageing.' Some have been left disappointed by its battery life, though, writing: 'Was given this as a gift at Christmas and was excited to use it. Fed up having to recharge it, sometimes it only lasts one use and needs recharging. I have another one which I got on here, which was cheaper and has batteries.' Meanwhile, a fourth penned: 'The face massager has really surprised me. It's become a relaxing part of my nightly routine. The warmth feels amazing, especially on tired skin, and the gentle vibration actually makes my skincare sink in better. I've been using it for just over a week, and I'm already noticing a subtle lift around my jaw and less puffiness in the morning. It's super easy to use, holds a charge well, and looks quite pretty.' But for those looking for a budget-friendly anti-ageing solution, or who want to try out a more affordable option before investing in a pricier model, the Amazon Face Sculpting Tool could be the perfect choice.

Alternatively, LookFantastic has slashed the price of MyProtein's Gut Gummies by 48 percent, bringing them down to £16.99. These chewable tablets provide a convenient way to boost digestive health, packed with one billion live cultures and 40mg of vitamin C. Meanwhile, customer reviews for Dr Vegan's Gut Works are mainly positive, boasting a 4.3-star rating based on over 300 reviews. Customers have reported a range of benefits, including alleviated IBS symptoms and bloating, as well as weight loss and improved mood. One thrilled customer, who gave her name as Joanne, shared: "IBS symptoms and life changed forever. My gastroenterologist advised me to consider this type of product, stating that if I took it every day without fail, my symptoms would likely improve. I came across this product and decided to give it a try. He was right. I could not visit friends for dinner, had trouble on holiday and my social life was controlled by my stomach... not any more. Life changing." Another buyer, Conal, added to the rave reviews: "Excellent product. My stomach feels less bloated, and with a change of eating habits, I have started to lose weight. I will continue to take Gut Works from now on." Sheila also shared encouraging results from her trial: "I'm very impressed. My bloating has stopped/disappeared, and I've lost 4lb." A further satisfied customer branded the supplement as life-altering: "Gut Works is quite simply magic. I had been suffering with IBS and tummy issues for years. Gut Works has really changed my life. I didn't think anything could help me but Gut Works has." However, not all feedback was entirely glowing, highlighting how individual gut health reactions can differ. Whilst some praised it as miraculous, others didn't experience the same level of transformation. One user, however, had a different experience and saw no benefits: "Didn't work for me. It was easy to swallow, though, and I liked that it was taken once a day. I've just received a lovely note from the company though and they have refunded me." Despite occasional negative reviews, overall customer sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive. Another delighted customer shared a five-star review, stating: "Since taking Gut Works, my tummy is so much better. Flatter and my trousers fit. I haven't changed my diet, so it's all down to Gut Work." Those interested in trying the Gut Works supplements can buy them from their website, with the opportunity to use the promotional code GUT50 for a 50 percent discount on an initial order from Dr Vegan.
