NFL rookies brought to tears after surprise videos, signed jerseys from Tom Brady and other football legends
As the 2025 NFL rookie class gets prepared for their first crack at doing just that, some of those legends surprised them thanks to Fanatics.
The genuine shock led to some strong emotions from this year's rookies.
NFL legends, including Tom Brady, Barry Sanders, Joe Montana, Peyton and Eli Manning, Tim Brown, and Jerry Rice all put together surprise videos for some of the top rookies in the draft class.
Fanatics shared the moment Tennessee Titans first overall pick, quarterback Cam Ward, saw Brady pop up on the screen to give him some wise words.
"You're gonna grow in ways you couldn't even imagine, and I'm gonna be watching, and I'm always pulling for you," Brady said.
"Just crazy for the greatest player of all time to send me a video like that," Ward responded after watching Brady's video.
Brady also dished out some advice to New England Patriots receiver Kyle Williams, who couldn't hold back his emotions when he looked under his seat and found a Brady-signed jersey — just like Ward.
Each rookie got a video and a signed jersey from either a legend that played for their team, or a current veteran who plays their position.
Take Los Angeles Rams star receiver Puka Nacua talking to fellow Hawaiian receiver, Tetairoa McMillan from the Carolina Panthers. Rice also spoke to Jacksonville Jaguars two-way star Travis Hunter.
"I wasn't the most talented guy out there, but I had my work ethic, and I wasn't going to let anyone outwork me," Rice said to Hunter.
"Way to be a top-five pick, man. We talked about it. You did it. Congratulations," Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons said to New York Giants rookie Abdul Carter, a fellow Penn State product who will be his rival now.
And Carter's new teammate, running back Cam Skattebo, couldn't hold back his tears after hearing Eddie George give him words of encouragement.
As these rookies continue grinding in training camp, they will be sponges, soaking in all the advice and information they can get to make sure they're walking the right path to reach the heights these legends got to.

World's best golfers continue to prep for Playoff opener at Southwind

World number one and a two-time major winner this year, Scottie Scheffler, the favorite at this week's FedEx St. Jude Championship, is one of the 69 golfers who have arrived in Memphis for the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Every golfer in the field knows what it means to simply be able to tee it up in Memphis this week. 'It's always where you want to be. The start the FedEx Cup playoffs. I'm in good position heading into this year and really excited to be back here,' said Corey Connors. 'Love this golf course. So it's where you want to be.' Here are our top five things to watch for during this weekend's slate. Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter playing both sides of the ball: Hunter is one of the most hyped-up rookies in recent memory, thanks to his expected attempt to play both offense and defense. Jacksonville has listed him as a starting WR and a second-string CB on its depth chart. It will be interesting to see how the Jaguars' coaching staff manages his workload. How he performs at each position will likely dictate where he gets the most snaps. Debut of Titans QB Cam Ward: Tennessee used their No. 1 overall draft pick on Ward, committing to him as the future of the franchise. He's had his ups and downs throughout training camp, but how he performs in preseason will give us a more accurate look at his abilities. Ben Johnson leads new-look Bears offense: Johnson was the hot name in this year's head coaching cycle, and he is now paired up with 2024 No. 1 overall pick QB Caleb Williams. Chicago remodeled its offensive line, and added a couple of new rookie weapons in tight end Colston Loveland and WR Luther Burden III. The pressure will be on Johnson to succeed quickly and get the most out of Williams and the Bears' offense. ESPN purchases NFL Network — what to know The NFL and ESPN have announced a non-binding agreement that ESPN will acquire NFL Network and certain other media assets owned and controlled by the NFL, including RedZone and NFL Fantasy. In exchange, the NFL will receive a 10 percent equity stake in ESPN. More terms of the agreement: NFL Network will be owned and operated by ESPN and fully integrated into ESPN DTC. NFL RedZone will still be available on NFL+, but ESPN will distribute it on traditional television. NFL Fantasy Football will merge with ESPN Fantasy Football. ESPN's platforms will license an additional three NFL games per season to air on NFL Network. The NFL will continue to own and operate its retained media businesses such as NFL Films, NFL+, the NFL Podcast Network, the NFL FAST Channel, and the official sites for the league's 32 clubs.
