Urgent appeal issued to EuroMillions players after lucky punter bags huge prize

An appeal has been issued to Lotto players after one lucky punter won a life-changing amount of money in Tuesday night's special EuroMillions draw.
While there was no winner of last night's EuroMillions jackpot, worth a staggering €108,197,286, more than 43,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games, including one lucky punter who scooped a whopping €255,000.
The massive win is part of a special promotion being run throughout May, with nine lucky players guaranteed to win €250,000 across the month.
This series of special EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffles guarantees players a top up in the prize fund for all nine draws, every Tuesday and Friday, throughout the month of May.
Typically, every EuroMillions draw produces ten winners of the €5,000 Ireland Only Raffle prize, but over the next month, The National Lottery have created something extra special.
In addition to the normal Raffle prize, one winner in each draw in May will win a dazzling €250,000 on top of the usual €5,000 Raffle prize.
On Friday (May 2), a Dublin punter become the first of nine guaranteed players to take home an additional €250,000 in the EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle event.
Tuesday's draw saw another lucky punter claim the massive six-figure sum, with an online player from Co Meath r eceiving an additional prize of €250,000, i n addition to the usual €5,000 Raffle prize, bringing their total winnings to €255,000.
The winning ticket, which was purchased on the day of the draw using the player's own numbers, had the raffle number I-SBG-62584.
Lotto bosses have appealed to online players in Meath to check their accounts and see if they have won the life-changing prize.
Emma Monaghan, a spokesperson for the National Lottery, said: 'While there was no winner of the EuroMillions jackpot last night, over 43,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games.
This includes one Raffle Ticket Winner: I-SBG-62584 of the 'Ireland Only Raffle' special draw, who received €255,000.
We're now encouraging all our online players in Meath to check their accounts today to see if they're our latest big winner.
It's always exciting to see players winning life-enhancing prizes, and we can't wait to hear how this one plans to celebrate!'
The National Lottery has confirmed that a notification and an email has been sent to the online player.
The top prize winner is advised to make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize in Lottery Headquarters.

Louth lotto syndicate of 11 tradesmen wins €255,000 EuroMillions

The syndicate are 'Jacks of All Trades', made up of builders, plumbers, electricians, and engineers that have been playing together for five years. The group has stuck to a simple system: one group chat, one EuroMillions ticket each, three lines with the Plus, and everyone keeping an eye on every ticket. On this occasion, their winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased by head of the syndicate, Richard O'Brien, at Applegreen, Newfoundwell Road, Greenbatter, Drogheda, Co. Louth, on the day of the draw. That ticket held the all-important raffle number: I-SDL-14299, and Richard said he initially thought they won a modest €5,000. Typically, every EuroMillions draw produces ten winners of the €5,000 Ireland-Only Raffle prize, but last month players have the chance to win an additional €250,000. 'One of the lads said, 'check again, we've won a lot more than that. There's a special raffle on'. I thought he was pulling my leg until I looked it up. That's when I saw we'd won an extra €250,000. 'The phone was hopping with calls and texts for the rest of the night. It was madness but great excitement,' Richard said. The next morning, Richard phoned the National Lottery Claims team to confirm the win. That evening, the group met up to sign the back of the winning ticket and celebrated their win together. There are many plans for spending the winnings, with talks of holidays and sun destinations, and one winner has his heart set on buying a couch for his partner. The crew of 11 travelled to the National Lottery Headquarters today to collect and celebrate their winnings. This marks the second win in Drogheda over the last week, with €255,000 won last week. Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to good causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish language. In total, more than €6.5 billion has been raised for good causes since the National Lottery was established 37 years ago. In 2024 alone, €239.3 million was raised for local good causes in communities across Ireland.

‘Jack of all trades' group scoops final Prize in exclusive Irish EuroMillions draw

A 'jack of all trades' syndicate have been revealed as the final winners of the final bonus Ireland Only EuroMillions raffle. For the month of May, the National Lottery saw every EuroMillions draw have a special bonus draw for the Ireland-Only raffle, which would see one winner of the €5,000 prize win an extra €250,000. After several huge wins across the country, an 11 strong syndicate of tradesmen from the east of the country have been revealed as the winners of the €255,000, with the head of the syndicate Richard O'Brien purchasing the ticket at Applegreen in Newfoundwell Road, Greenbatter in Drogheda, Co Louth on the day of the draw. The 11-strong 'Jacks of All Trades' Syndicate from Co. Louth claimed a €255,000 prize in the EuroMillions Ireland-Only Raffle, celebrating their win at National Lottery HQ. Pic: McInnes Photography The syndicate, which is made of builders, plumbers, engineers and electricians, had a simple system: one group chat, one ticket each, three lines with the plus and everyone keeping an eye on every ticket — with one member of the syndicate beating Richard to the punch in checking that they had the winning raffle number of I-SDL-14299. Richard had initially thought that they won the more 'modest' €5,000 sum, but 'one of the lads said 'check again, we've won a lot more than that! There's a special raffle on.' I thought he was pulling my leg… until I looked it up. That's when I saw we won an extra €250,000! 'The phone was hopping with calls and texts for the rest of the night,' Richard added. 'It was madness but great excitement!' The syndicate were the last EuroMillions players this month to win the massive €255,000 bonus in the Ireland-Only raffle. Pic: MacInnes Photography Richard confirmed the huge win with the National Lottery the next day, with the team coming from the eastern corners of the country to Lotto HQ to sign the back of their ticket and celebrate their massive win. As for what they plan on doing, the lads have debated how to spend their massive windfall — with one set to buy a new couch for his partner, while another is helping a family member save for a house. The group chat that also won the huge windfall are now also debating where to head on holiday, with sun destination chatter heating up. The lads' plans for the money include buying a couch for a partner, as well as helping a relative save for a house. Pic: MacInnes Photography The Ireland-Only raffle win comes as a massive three EuroMillions players won huge sums after matching five numbers in Clare, Kerry and Cavan.
