'Bridgerton' season 4: Everything we know so far
The moment that "Bridgerton" season 3 and all of its carriage-rattling, Lady Whistledown-revealing fun came to an end — don't worry, you can revisit the romantic adventures of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) whenever you want with a Netflix subscription — our attentions immediately turned to next season. It's on our way, but how much longer must we wait?
Yes, "Bridgerton" season 4 was announced by the streaming platform all the way back in April 2021, and we've already got burning questions about the upcoming episodes. We officially know which Bridgerton sibling will serve as this season's romantic lead (more on that in a minute), but just how faithful will the new episodes be to that character's book?
No matter how closely production sticks to the source material, the fourth season of "Bridgerton" will surely have all of the opulent costumes, sumptuous ballrooms and romantic steaminess we've come to expect from the Netflix series. Here's everything you need to know about "Bridgerton" season 4.
'Bridgerton' season 4 release date window
Bad news, Ton diehards: not only is there not yet an official release date for "Bridgerton" season 4, but it also seems like there's going to be a bit of a wait before we catch up with Benedict (Luke Thompson), Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Colin and the rest of the Bridgerton brood. Fans can expect to see a new season sometime in 2026, per an interview with "Bridgerton" showrunner Jess Brownell.
'We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language,' Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter last June. 'And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we're kind of on a two-year pace. We're trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range.'
A two-year wait isn't unprecedented for the series: The first season premiered in December 2020, with season 2 following in March 2022 and season 3 dropping in May 2024.
At least the powers that be are planning to make the wait worth your while:'I'm really excited about what we're writing. We're toward the end with the writers' room season, with the scripts. And I feel like it's some of my best work and my writers' room's best work," Brownell told THR. "We've just really gelled our collaboration, and we're firing on all cylinders, so I can't wait for fans to see what we have.
In April 2021, Netflix announced its renewal of season 3 and season 4. At the time, Netflix VP of Global TV Bela Bajaria said, 'Bridgerton swept us off our feet. The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We're planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come."
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It looks like filming on season 4 has officially wrapped up as of spring 2025, with Netflix sharing a cute behind-the-scenes video to its social-media accounts on June 20 showing various cast members heading into their respective trailers in their period costumes and stepping back out in their modern-day plainclothes. "Do join us in bidding our dear Ton a farewell as they conclude the production of the forthcoming season!" read the video's caption. "Indeed, there is much to look forward to…"
How many episodes will 'Bridgerton' season 4 be?
"Bridgerton" season 4 will reportedly consist of eight episodes, which is the same amount as the first three editions of the show. However, it's unclear if the fourth season will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and be split into two parts, or if all of the episodes will hit the streamer in go. Stay tuned!
Who is in the 'Bridgerton' season 4 cast?
Though 'Bridgerton' season 3 mainly focused on the coupling of Colin and Penelope (who — spoiler alert! — got their happily-ever-after, including a sweet giggling baby, by the season's end), it featured plenty of romantic hijinks for the rest of the Bridgerton clan, from Benedict further exploring his sexuality to Eloise leaving the Ton for a sojourn to Scotland with Francesca, her new hubby John Stirling (Victor Alli) and his beguiling cousin Michaela (Masali Baduza).
According to Tudum, Luke Thompson's Benedict and Claudia Jessie's Eloise will both be back for the new episodes, as well as Nicola Coughlan's Penelope and Luke Newton's Colin. "I love my role in the show, so I can't see myself going anywhere. I just want to finish the stories off, Newton told Teen Vogue. "I would say there's still stuff to get sorted in season 4, so yeah, that's why I'm there.' And yes, another previous "Bridgerton" main couple will join Coughlan and Newton in returning to the Ton for season 4: Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and pregnant wife Kate (Simone Ashley).
Hannah Dodd's Francesca, as well as younger Bridgerton siblings Hyacinth (Florence Hunt) and Gregory (Will Tilston) are also expected to return for season 4. And given that Bridgerton matriarch Violet, played by Ruth Gemmell, had her own fair share of romantic tension in season 3 opposite Lady Danbury's brother, Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis), we expect to see both mama and her love interest next season.
Tudum also lists the return of Penelope's mother, Philipa Featherington (Polly Walker), as well as Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, Martins Imhangbe as Will Mondrich and Emma Naomi as Alice Mondrich.
And as for new faces, there will be several, the most notable being Yerin Ha as Benedict's love interest, "the determined and captivating Sophie Baek, a victim of tragic circumstances" that the Bridgerton gent meets at Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball.
Joining season 4 will also be Katie Leung as Araminta Gun, a twice-married and twice-widowed woman with two daughters debuting on the marriage mart this season. "Fabulous, discerning, and blunt, Araminta does not respond well when anything — or anyone — threatens her standing in society," per Netflix. There's also Araminta's beautiful and vain eldest daughter Rosamund Li played by Michelle Mao, who has her sights sets on Benedict this social season, as well as her younger, kinder sister Posy Li (Isabella Wei).
Is there a 'Bridgerton' season 4 teaser trailer?
There isn't an official trailer for "Bridgerton" season 4 just yet, but Netflix has released some teasers over the past few months.
In July 2024, the streamer released a 30-second clip announcing that Luke Thompson's Benedict Bridgerton would be serving as this season's romantic lead: "Welcome to the marriage mart, Benedict!"
And as a little Valentine's Day treat, Netflix also published a behind-the-scenes teaser on February 14, 2025, spotlighting Thompson and his new onscreen leading lady Yerin Ha, with cheery cameos from the larger Bridgerton family:
And most recently, on March 14, the streamer gave fans a closer look at one of the book's most memorable moments: when Benedict Bridgerton encounters his future love Sophie Baek (changed from the novel's Beckett) at the masquerade ball:
'Bridgerton' season 4 spoilers and book story
Spoiler warning: The following contains detailed information about Julia Quinn's novels "An Offer From a Gentleman" and "Romancing Mr. Bridgerton."
While "Bridgerton" the series hasn't entirely followed Quinn's novels to the letter, seasons 1 and 2 did closely track the plot of her first two "Bridgerton" books, "The Duke and I" and "The Viscount Who Loved Me." Some storylines were shifted from later books, like the revelation of Lady Whistledown's identity.
However, season 3 diverged from the books. It did not take story cues from book 3, "An Offer From a Gentleman," which features a Cinderella-like romance between Benedict Bridgerton and a new character named Sophie Beckett. Instead, the third season skipped over Benedict's story and drew from the fourth book, "Romancing Mr. Bridgerton," which focuses on Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.
That means that season 4 will get things back on track and focus on the Bridgertons' bohemian brother, the artsy Benedict. The last we saw of Benedict in the season 3 finale, he had just rejected Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) and her proposal of a monogamous relationship, sans their recent paramour Paul Suarez (Lucas Aurelio), in favor of staying single. However, Benedict's plans are thrown for a loop when he encounters the mysterious Sophie Bae at his mother's masquerade ball, which will reportedly take place in the very first episode of the new season.
Thompson told Tulum about bringing the star-crossed lovers' story to life. 'The scripts that [showrunner] Jess [Brownell] and her team have come up with are dynamite. They're really, really, really exciting,' he said. 'The storyline is a bit of a twist on 'Cinderella.' You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them. It's really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton … It's such a great story, but it's also, I hope, really relatable.'
'What's striking about Season 4,' Thompson added, 'is that it's the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale — the romance of it — and the actual reality of the world.' Through Benedict and Sophia's relationship, season 4 will delve more deeply into both the powerful houses of the Ton and the people who keep those aristocratic lifestyles going behind the scenes. 'Both are true,' Thompson continued. 'You have to hold both of them — the romance and the reality — in your hand. In its best version, 'true love' happens in the middle of that.'Tom's Guide will keep you posted on all things "Bridgerton" season 4, including character details, new clips and trailer, and plot points. In the meantime, you can rewatch the drama's first three seasons on Netflix.

Wednesday S2: Who is the mystery woman at the end of part 1?
Wednesday season two part one has finally arrived on Netflix and while it has answered a lot of questions, such as who is Wednesday's stalker, it's also left us with some very pressing queries - namely, who is the mystery woman at the end of part one? During the fourth episode, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) uncovers a secret operation taking part in Willow Hill. It's called LOIS and was set up by one of the former teachers of Nevermore Academy and now run by his daughter Judi Spannegel (Heather Matarazzo). Wednesday, along with the ever reliable Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen), head down the basement of Willow Hill, where they discover Judi has been keeping a number of Outcasts prisoners in order to conduct test on them and transfer their powers to Normies. Wednesday and Uncle Fester liberate the prisoners, and there's one woman who intrigues Wednesday and who she makes a special effort to escort out. Given the significance of these scenes it's likely she's going to be a bigger characters in the next part of season two. But who is she? Here's all the theories we have so far. Throughout the season Wednesday's Aunt Ophelia is mentioned a lot. She's the sister of Morticia and is a massive point of contention between Wednesday and her mother. As the season progresses we come to understand that Ophelia has been missing for the past 20 years and she shares a lot of similarities to Wednesday, including their shared psychic ability. Morticia frequently points out that just like her aunt, Wednesday is struggling to master her skills and Morticia is worried this could lead to the problems and breakdown that her sister faced. When the sisters were younger Ophelia pushed her psychic abilities too far and produced the same black tears Wednesday does and so her mother Hester (Joanna Lumley) sent her away to Willow Hill. But while the family assumes she is missing, could it be that she's actually been in the basement of Willow Hill all this time? There's a lot of clues to suggest so. Firstly, that she's been missing for two decades. Maybe she hasn't been missing at all but in fact been kept prisoner, which is why she's never been seen or communicated with the family. We know for sure she was a patient at Willow Hill, with Uncle Fester also confessing to Wednesday Morticia had once asked him to break her out. However, he never did. Given how much emphasis the show has put on Aunt Ophelia as a character, the most likely explanation is she is the one who Wednesday finds and looks after at the end of season two part one. Another person some fans are theorising the mystery woman is in fact Tyler's mother. During season one we learnt that Tyler (who is also a hyde) is the son of the Detective Galpin and Francoise Galpin, who was an outcast and a hyde. After meeting Detective Galpin the pair fell in love and had Tyler. After giving birth to Tyler, Francoise went onto have post-partum depression which led to her hyde being released and she was then locked up in Willow Hill. We're then told she died in Willow Hill. However, now fans are theorising that maybe she never died and instead is the woman whom Wednesday helps. It's a very plausible theory given how much Detective Galpin was investigating LOIS. Perhaps he was suspicious of what happened to his wife all those years ago and then when he got close to the truth that's why he was killed off by Judi and her crows. The series also puts a lot of emphasis on Tyler rejecting Miss Thornhill as a mother figure, with one of the final scenes between them being when Tyler says to her: "You're not my mother, you're my master", and maybe this is to open up the chance to reunite Tyler with his mother. There's also a small possibility that the mystery woman is neither of the characters, and is simply a red herring to throw the audience off. However, with everything being so intentionally thought out in Wednesday, we're doubtful she's a character who doesn't hold some significance to the overall plot. I'm going back on reality TV. Here's what it costs me to look camera-ready.
Three "Perfect Match" stars detail their beauty routines and estimate what they spent to prepare for Season 3 of the Netflix reality series. Poreless skin. Gleaming white teeth. Glossy hair. Turn on a reality television show this summer, and it's likely the women staring back at you from the screen will have all three, plus an enviable collection of Day-Glo beachwear. But anyone who's a fan of the genre knows that none of these enviably gorgeous people wake up like this. It takes a lot of work (and money) to look that good. Getting ready for a reality show is a multilayered effort, and often, the contestants onscreen have less time to gear up than viewers might think. The logistical sprint that ensues after they hear a 'yes' from production is its own learning process, and repeat stars get better at figuring out their travel hacks with each new season. On Netflix's Perfect Match, everyone is a seasoned pro. The show gathers alums from across the Netflix reality universe (and starting this season, the broader reality TV-dating universe) to see who can build the strongest relationships. Eleven men and 11 women pile into a swanky villa in Tulum, Mexico, where they party, hook up, trade partners and complete challenges to see who is the most compatible. Whichever pair earns the title walks away with a free couples' vacation. As the show returns for Season 3 on Aug. 8, we chatted with cast members Amber Desiree 'AD' Smith, Juliette Porter and Sandy Gallagher to find out how they prepared to be constantly camera-ready in the tropical heat. AD Smith Last seen on: Love Is Blind Season 6 Estimated cost of show preparation: $5,000 to $6,000 Hot tip: Start shopping online early. Smith stole the hearts of Love Is Blind fans as a reliable, relatable source of commentary on Season 6, and she was open to finding love again on Perfect Match. When she got the final green light to join the cast, Smith tells Yahoo, she had about two weeks to get ready to film. Then, 'it's the reality TV show, hair, nails and clothes Olympics,' she says with a laugh. Because this process can be both a marathon and a sprint, Smith usually gives herself a head start by filling her online shopping carts with items she thinks she'd need for filming around the time that producers tell her she's being 'highly considered.' Then, she does some math. 'You're like, OK, if I'm probably gonna be there for about 30 days… I need an outfit for relaxing, lunch, breakfast, dinner, dates [and] challenges.' Because Perfect Match involves a lot of pool time, that worked out to an 'unlimited' supply of bikinis, plus 'maybe 20' of everything else 'just in case.' While producers typically suggest cast members bring two suitcases for the course of filming, Smith won't take any risks. 'I've shown up to sets in these islands with three and four suitcases, and I don't feel bad about it,' she says. All told, Smith estimates that her Perfect Match preparations cost somewhere in the thousands. It costs $700 to get her hair braided to withstand the tropical climate, and then she adds clothes, shoes, accessories and cosmetics on top of that. During her first reality show appearance on Love Is Blind, she covered all of her own expenses. This time around, she reveals, 'your girl got a little bit blessed' — and brands sent her some supplies, which cut down her costs. It's not just about what you wear. Leaving the country means you have to be careful about which skin care products you bring; anything deemed oversize could be confiscated during travel, Smith says. Because of this, she got a facial ahead of the season. Knowing she'd be in a bikini all the time, she upped her usual cardio routine by spinning on her Peloton and doing Pilates. Smith has two tips for anyone considering going on reality television: Time your Botox carefully and do your own nails. 'I always get my Botox before I get cast, and then I go back to my doctor, and she's like, 'Absolutely not. I'm not giving you anything else,'' she says. 'I haven't been able to get any Botox for my shows because I didn't know I was going to be cast for them, and I got it too soon. But every time I get back [from filming], I go right to my doctor.' And as for the nails? She says just bring press-ons. Smith's biggest regret is getting a Russian manicure, which eventually grew out. She's since realized that 'you can pack your own UV light and do your own nails while you're there. Because once they grow out, it's a wrap.' Juliette Porter Last seen on: Siesta Key Season 5 Estimated spend: More than $6,000 Hot tip: Triple-check your packing list. Porter was still a teenager when Siesta Key first debuted on MTV in 2017. Her last appearance on the show came in 2022, and Perfect Match marks her first return to reality TV in three years. While preparing for the show, Porter learned an important lesson — sometimes, it's not what you spend, but how you spend it. Despite dropping $6,000 on clothes ahead of this season, Porter admits that she still showed up to the beach missing a few essentials. 'I didn't bring enough shoes,' she tells Yahoo, 'and that decision is still haunting me, because in the first episode, I'm the only one that isn't wearing heels.' Porter's expenses extended beyond her clothes. Before production started, she bought new makeup to avoid running out while filming, got hair extensions, stocked up on self-tanner, had her eyebrows laminated and sprang for a Russian manicure because she heard they were longer lasting. Sadly, the manicure did not live up to its reputation. 'One of my nails popped off on, like, day three,' she says. 'I was so mad. I begged [production] for superglue.' One thing that Porter was pleased with? Her pre-show Botox. 'I've had moments where I get Botox done, and I'm like, 'my eyebrows are lower than they're supposed to be; I'm too frozen,'' she says. 'But luckily for this, I think I got it done maybe a couple weeks before, so it set in properly.' Through the years, Porter has amended her cosmetic enhancements. She no longer gets eyelash extensions because she prefers a more natural look, and while she did not get them done for any show in particular, she's also offered fans details about her breast augmentation and non-surgical rhinoplasty on social media. In our interview, Porter calls the latter procedure 'incredible.' 'I liked my nose before, but I had a bridge on my nose, and she was able to basically give me a straight nose — kind of lift the tip up a little bit,' Porter says. 'It's all essentially an illusion, and it's painless and easy and doesn't require anything under the knife.' Sandy Gallagher Last seen on: The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 Estimated spend: Somewhere in the thousands Hot tip: Bring a portable hair straightener. Fans first met Gallagher on 2024's The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On. Coming into Perfect Match, she's the first to admit that she focused more on finding the cutest outfits and bikinis than on how much all of her preparations cost. Case in point: she brought one suitcase with just shoes. 'You know girls,' Gallagher tells Yahoo. 'We want to wear new things for every event we go to. So I was like, 'OK, I gotta get new workout clothes, new cocktail dresses, new bikinis, shoes, everything, makeup, hair.'' Gallagher tried out hair extensions for the first time ahead of this season, which factored into the cost to maintain her look onscreen. 'I had to get all these new hair products, because we're in 100-degree humidity,' she says. One particular investment she made turned out to be a godsend: her portable hair straightener. 'You spend so much time getting ready in the car, honestly — waiting for filming and production,' Gallagher says. 'I would never know that, had I not already gone through another show before.' She got the straightener for touch-ups on the go. 'I was a little more prepared this time,' she said. When it comes to skin care, Gallagher says, 'I like to keep my face and my everything looking very natural, but obviously, just enhance where we can.' For her, that included microneedling facials and around three Botox sessions per year (which cost around $500 an appointment). 'We don't want to go crazy on the fillers or different surgeries,' she says. She does her own eyebrows, so she managed to save money there. One beauty procedure she loved? Having her lips blushed last summer, which essentially gave her permanent lip liner. Like Porter, Gallagher stocked up on self-tanner ahead of filming, and to the envy of many, she also brought press-on nails and extra glue into the villa. 'I, luckily, didn't have any issues with my nails,' she says. Solve the daily Crossword

Paul Merton reveals big challenge of doing Have I Got News for You
Paul Merton is struggling to find "new things to say" on Have I Got News for You as the same topics are making top news stories. The 68-year-old comedian and the 65-year-old journalist Ian Hislop have been panellists on the BBC One comedy quiz show - which sees them and their celebrity teammate answer questions based on, and make light of, the week's top news stories - since 1990. But as they are repeatedly making jokes about subjects - including US President Donald Trump, 79 - that are constantly in the news cycle, Paul finds it tricky to produce new material. He told the new issue of Loaded magazine: "There are certain news stories that won't go away. COVID was one, Brexit was another, and of course, Donald Trump. "It's difficult to find new things to say, but if those are the major stories, you have to cover them." Paul says that the producers of the show do not mention the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia every week because people want to hear good news stories. He explained: "We sometimes cover Ukraine, but you don't want a war story every week, as I think the reason people tune in is to escape from the bad news stories. "We have to make sure we're not concentrating too much on the gloomy stuff." Paul said it was "special" that his teenage idols - the late comedians Peter Cook and Spike Milligan - appeared on Have I Got News for You in 1992 and 1995 respectively. He added: "I think when you meet someone whom you deeply admired when you were a teenager, it's something special when you meet them as an adult. "Spike Milligan and Peter Cook, for example. They would stand out as extraordinary people that you couldn't quite believe you were sharing a screen with." Paul adored the comedienne Victoria Wood - who died of oesophageal cancer at the age of 62 in 2016 - and he thinks she turned down an offer to do Have I Got News for You because she was not keen on the programme. He explained: "I was a huge fan of Victoria Wood, and it would have been lovely to have her on. "I think she was asked, but maybe it wasn't her thing? "I think most people we wanted to get on the show have been on it."
