At least 4 students injured in shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas
A 17-year-old was shot in the leg, according to reporting by FOX 4 Dallas.
Two other students were shot and one was grazed, according to the report. Their ages range from 15 to 18.
One of the victims has "serious injuries" and the others' injuries are not life-threatening, according to FOX 4.
The Dallas Independent School District (DISD) said the school was "secured" in an update shared just after 2 p.m.
Police said during a news conference the suspect was identified, but had not yet been taken into custody.
Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins said someone "opened the door" to the suspect.
The shooting happened at about 1:25 p.m., according to a statement from DISD.
During the news conference, DISD Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde said an officer assigned to the school responded within two minutes, followed by additional law enforcement agencies.
Parents and guardians were allowed to reunite with students at Eagles Stadium, which is adjacent to campus, according to the school district.
All students were picked up by their families as of 6:40 p.m.
"We understand this is a difficult time and ask for your patience," the district wrote in an X post. "Counselors are on site and available."
Video showed a number of first responders, including police, firefighters and paramedics at the school.
Elizalde said she spoke with Gov. Greg Abbott, who offered any resources the district needs.
Abbott posted to X, saying "our hearts go out to the victims of the senseless act of violence at Wilmer-Hutchins High School."
"We'll provide law enforcement the tools needed to arrest & bring the criminals to justice," he wrote. "… Cecilia and I ask our fellow Texans to join us in praying for the victims' swift recovery and for the entire Wilmer-Hutchins High School community."
Abbott added that since becoming governor, Texas has provided more than $3 billion in school safety funding.
"This session, I am seeking an additional $500 million to further safeguard schools across the state," he wrote.
There was a shooting at the high school nearly a year ago, prompting the use of metal detectors and clear backpacks, according to FOX 4.
Wilmer-Hutchins High School will be closed for the remainder of the week, and additional officers will be stationed at other district schools, Elizalde said.
DISD did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Texas GOP seeks to ‘domesticate' rogue Dems for breaking quorum through nationwide civil arrest warrants
Texas Republicans, Attorney General Ken Paxton and House Speaker Dustin Burrows are seeking nationwide civil arrest warrants for the Texas House Democrats who broke quorum when they fled the state for Illinois and California. In the latest escalation of the redistricting debate taking national politics by storm, Paxton and Burrows are seeking to "domesticate" civil arrest warrants in Illinois and California for the Texas Democrats who fled the Lone Star State to block a Republican-led redistricting plan that could protect Republicans' slim U.S. House majority. "We are pursuing every legal remedy at our disposal to hold these rogue legislators accountable," Paxton said in a statement. "Texas deserves representatives who do their jobs instead of running away at the behest of their billionaire handlers. If there's one thing Texans can't stand more than losers, it's cowards." Burrows emphasized that "all options are on the table" to ensure House members return home to Texas to "fulfill their constitutional obligations." "The State has no choice but to pursue additional legal remedies to compel their return from other states. Our full focus is on stopping this dereliction of duty and restoring quorum in the Texas House as soon as possible so we may return our time, attention and resources where they most matter—on the critical issues of the special session call," the Republican House Speaker said. Burrows issued arrest warrants on Aug. 4 for the Democrats who fled Texas, under Article III, Section 10 of the Texas Constitution and Rule 5, Section 8, of the Rules of the Texas House of Representatives. According to the attorney general's office, it allows for "[a]ll absentees for whom no sufficient excuse is made may, by order of a majority of those present, be sent for and arrested, wherever they may be found." More than a week later, as Democrats have yet to return, Paxton and Burrows are seeking to implement their warrants in Illinois and California, through the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the U.S. Constitution. While the Texas Republicans argue that other states are obligated to adhere to official acts by the state of Texas, both Govs. J.B. Pritzker of Illinois and Gavin Newsom of California have come out in support of the rogue Texas Democrats, as their home states float their own redistricting plans to balance the scales if Texas Republicans are successful. The Democrats will not be detained and escorted back to Texas unless a state court in Illinois and California accepts Texas' civil arrest warrants. Once lawmakers leave the state, they are beyond the legal jurisdiction of Texas authorities who can compel their return, according to GovFacts, a nonpartisan educational resource that explains U.S. government legalities. However, if they were to return to Texas, the Texas Constitution would allow legislative leaders to "physically compel the attendance" of missing members through civil arrest warrants, allowing law enforcement to find the missing Democrats and return them to the Capitol. Paxton has also filed a lawsuit with the Texas Supreme Court, requesting that 13 House Democrats' seats are declared vacant because they fled the state to avoid the Trump-backed redistricting vote. The conservative attorney general also filed a lawsuit against former U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-Texas, for allegedly conspiring to aid and abet Democrats' effort to break the quorum. According to the Courthouse News Service, Republican Tarrant County Judge Megan Fay issued a temporary restraining order against O'Rourke and his Super PAC, Powered by People, hours after the suit was filed "to stop using funds to pay for Democrats' travel expenses and conduct fundraising to pay for such expenses in the future." When reached for comment, a Pritzker spokesperson pointed to his past comments, addressing the threat of nationwide civil arrests, in which he said Illinois law enforcement will protect "everybody" in Illinois. Woman hospitalized, Chihuahua killed in off-leash dog attack at Lawrence park
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lawrence police are investigating a dog attack after a woman was injured and her Chihuahua was killed by an unleashed dog on Sunday. According to a , at about 2 p.m., officers were called to Centennial Skate Park on reports of a dog attack. The other two dogs were not harmed. When police arrived, they found the woman suffering from a severe bite wound to her arm, a broken finger, and several other minor wounds. Her pet Chihuahua was killed in the attack. Police said they found the attack dog pinned down by men who had been witnesses to the attack. Officers then created a makeshift muzzle to control the dog and took it away from the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital with one of her dogs, police said. The other dog had run off during the attack but was later found by law enforcement and returned home. The dog that initiated the attack was taken to the Humane Society, as well as the deceased Chihuahua. Investigations are ongoing, police said. How to prevent, stop a dog attack FOX4 spoke with Dr. Melia Washington, chief veterinarian at Pet Resource Center of KC. She shared the following tips to prevent and stop a dog attack: Loud noise/auditory stimulus (yelling in a deep voice, clapping, foghorn) Bite stick Pepper spray 'The first step would be obviously getting their attention,' she said. 'You can do that in various ways…yelling, clapping. 'We always had milk jugs with rocks in them. So just like shaking something, just a weird sound.' She also said the tone of your voice makes a huge difference, so you want to yell in a deep and assertive tone. Bite sticks are also a great way to stop a dog attack. 'The other thing is a bite stick,' Dr. Washington said. 'You can use the bite stick to stick in their mouth and pry their mouth open.' Pepper spray is also good to carry, she said.
