From Friday to Sunday, the greens were alive with exciting play as teams battled it out for top honours.

In the individual team standings, Dianne Ahrens from the Port Elizabeth District shone brightly as her side secured the top spot.
Sunday proved decisive, with the Port Elizabeth District putting in a dominant performance by winning all their matches.
This final push saw them lift the overall trophy, while Ahrens and her unbeaten team claimed Individual Team Gold.
Port Elizabeth also secured the individual team silver, capping a remarkable weekend for the district.
Despite their strong start, Eastern Areas District had to settle for the overall silver medal, while the other districts showcased excellent skill and spirit throughout.
The event was praised for its smooth organisation by the Eastern Areas Bowling Association, with participants commending the committee and Port Alfred Bowling Club for hosting a well-run, competitive tournament. — EP Bowls

Handre Pollard back to steady shaky Bok ship
Experienced playmaker Handre Pollard has been recalled to steady the ship after the Springboks were on the receiving end of a savage beating at the hands of the Wallabies in Johannesburg last week. Pollard takes the place of Manie Libbok for a crunch Rugby Championship rematch between the sides in Cape Town on Saturday (kickoff 5.10pm). Erasmus said the changes were made because of injuries and strategic adjustments. 'We lost four players to injury last weekend, which obviously had an impact on a few of our selections,' he said. 'But we also know where we went wrong against Australia last week, so we made a few changes that we believe will offer us what we need for this game. 'Damian and Cheslin have also recovered from their injuries, and with their experience and knowledge of the Wallabies, it was a logical choice to recall them. 'We are determined to get things right this week. 'Prop Boan Venter got a taste of what it's like to face Australia last week, and Ruan Nortje did well against them last year. 'It will be good for a few other guys to experience playing against one of the top teams in the world, especially as we continue to build our squad depth. 'We are pleased with this squad, and we are all aligned on what we have to do to lift our standards this week.' Erasmus said he expected another physical battle against the Wallabies, who will have momentum on their side. 'There's no doubt they'll take a lot of confidence from their victory last week, and especially since that marked their first victory at Ellis Park against us in the professional era,' he said. On-loan Mosele has Chippa on his mind
Chippa United on-loan player Goodman Mosele says his focus is on helping the club reach its target of finishing in a decent position in the league and being competitive in cup competitions. He was not overly concerned about the midfield competition at his parent club, Orlando Pirates, and how he could eventually break into its starting line-up, he said. The 25-year-old has struggled to secure a place in the Pirates squad since joining from Baroka FC in 2021 . Following minimal playing time at the Sea Robbers, he was loaned to the Chilli Boys for the 2023/2024 season . He found his rhythm at Chippa, participating in 25 matches throughout all competitions and netting one goal. That form earned him a place back at the Buccaneers, but a long-term injury set him back and he only played about 200 minutes for Pirates, scoring one goal. Now he finds himself back at the Eastern Cape-based outfit. 'It has been hard since the injury. I'm still working towards being the old Goodman that was at the peak of his game,' Mosele said at training in East London this week. 'It will take time before I get there, I know, and I'm pushing hard, I know I will get there. 'Pirates is my home, I know, but it is not on my mind currently. I want to help Chippa get a top eight in the league.' The last time he was at Chippa, he worked with Siphelele Luthuli, Brooklyn Poggenpoel, Ronaldo Maarman, Craig Martin and Sinoxolo Kwayiba in midfield. All of them have since departed the club, as well as the coaching staff of Kwanele Kopo and Thabo September. He has had to work with new faces. That comes with learning a new philosophy and building a clear understanding among his midfield compatriots, something Mosele, who has played more than 170 Premier Soccer League games, said he was familiarising himself with. 'What I like about the group is that there are no egos. 'We are helping each other to find what ticks for which individual and that helps when you want to build something special as a team. 'I don't consider myself an experienced player. 'For example, in the group, though I might have more caps than some other players, we all work together.
