While romantic couple getaways and action-packed family holidays have their charms, nothing compares to the soul-nourishing joy of travelling with the women who mean the most to you.
Whether it's your mom, your daughter, your favourite aunt or your ride-or-die bestie, an all-women's overseas trip brings endless laughs, shared inside jokes, heartfelt chats and the simple pleasure of doing what you love with people who just get you.
Even better, exploring a new culture together - from sampling its food and soaking up its scenery to meeting new people and embracing its traditions - creates a special kind of bond that lasts long after you return home.
If you're planning a girls-only trip abroad, booking an organised tour can make the experience even more enjoyable.
With safety, logistics and must-see highlights all taken care of, you're free to simply relax and make memories.
Kelly Jackson, managing director of TTC Tour Brands EMEA, reveals her top recommendations for an ideal women's travel experience. These include everything from sandy beaches and fairy-tale markets to ancient ruins and Mediterranean sunsets.
Mother-daughter magic in Spain and Portugal
Travelling with your mom or daughter is the perfect way to reconnect away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
A mother-daughter holiday lets you step outside your usual roles and simply enjoy each other's company as two women sharing an adventure.
On a Spain and Portugal tour, there's something for all ages: savour mouth-watering tapas in Barcelona, marvel at centuries-old art, stroll past architectural masterpieces in Madrid, and relax along the golden shores of Costa del Sol with sangria in hand.
These sun-drenched moments and unhurried conversations are what turn a trip into a treasured memory.

Multi-generational meanderings at European Christmas Markets
Travelling with multiple generations - from grandmothers and aunts to moms and daughters - creates a unique tapestry of perspectives and stories.
You see the world differently through each other's eyes, and that's the magic.
A Christmas markets tour through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland offers slow-paced festive fun for all ages.
Picture cobbled streets lined with twinkling lights, steaming mugs of mulled wine, handcrafted ornaments, and the sweet scent of roasted chestnuts in the air.
It's the perfect excuse to tick off some holiday shopping while enjoying the charm of chocolate-box villages and winter wonderlands.
Besties forever on a best of Italy tour
Your best friend has been there through the highs, the lows, and the questionable life choices - which makes them the perfect travel partner for an Italian adventure.
From the historic streets of Rome and the Renaissance beauty of Florence to the glamorous shores of Capri, every moment in Italy is a celebration.
Wander the ruins of Pompeii, savour gelato by Lake Como, and sip Aperol Spritzes as you people-watch in Venice's St. Mark's Square.
Between the art, the food, the wine, and the endless 'remember when' moments, this is the trip that cements your legendary friendship.
From Parga to Crete, enjoy island hopping adventures in Greece.

Girlfriend getaway in the Greek Islands
If your idea of the perfect girls' trip is a mix of sunshine, adventure, and vibrant nightlife, island-hopping in Greece ticks every box.
From the party vibe of Mykonos and Ios to the romantic sunsets of Santorini and the historic charm of Crete, each island offers its own personality.
Spend your days swimming in turquoise waters, exploring ancient ruins, or simply soaking up the views from a cliffside taverna.
Nights are for dancing under the stars, tasting fresh seafood, and toasting your friendship with ouzo.
The beauty of a Greek island-hopping trip is its flexibility - stay longer where you fall in love, move on when you're ready, and maybe even meet a few new friends along the way.
A women's overseas trip isn't just a holiday - it's a celebration of connection, laughter, and shared adventure.
Whether you're sipping sangria in Spain, browsing Christmas markets in Austria, indulging in gelato in Italy, or watching the sun melt into the Aegean Sea, these moments with the women you love will become the stories you tell for years to come.

Kim Jayde shares how to experience Cannes on a budget

South African media personality and fashion enthusiast Kim Jayde has returned from the prestigious Cannes International Festival of Creativity. She has returned with some fresh insider's guide for South Africans keen to explore the allure of the French Riviera. Partnering with Air France, she shares her top tips to make your trip to Cannes unforgettable. Kim praises Air France as the perfect start to any French adventure. 'The moment you step onto an Air France flight, you experience French hospitality and culture,' she says. Every Business Class passenger is welcomed with a glass of champagne, and even economy passengers are treated to champagne served on board. 'It's a luxurious touch that sets the tone for the journey,' explains Kim. Onboard, she enjoyed classic French documentaries alongside fine red wine and steak, adding to the authentic experience. For accommodation, Kim recommends venturing just 15 minutes outside Cannes to the charming town of Antibes, according to Urban Lifestyle SA. 'It offers beautiful, more affordable options like two-bedroom Airbnbs,' she says. This option is perfect for travellers on a budget wanting to mingle with the C-suite elite visiting Cannes. Given that €1 roughly converts to about R 20, she notes that a train ticket from Antibes to Cannes costs approximately R 140. This is compared to Uber rides ranging between R 520 and R 980. 'Europe's trains are efficient, clean, and air-conditioned, making them a smart choice to navigate,' she advises. Food lovers should not miss the local boulangeries. 'Carry cash for the family-owned bakeries where fresh bread, cheese and cold meats are perfected by the French,' Kim says. She highlights Banana Blue, a quaint restaurant hidden from the main beach strip, famous for its fresh pizza and pasta. 'The French know how to enjoy life, no stress, no rush,' she adds. Beach days in Cannes are a must, with La Plage's Mediterranean waters warming to a pleasant 23°C in summer. Kim suggests visiting the beach around 4 pm when it's cooler, then enjoying sundowners and dinner at nearby cafés as the sun sets as late as 9 pm. When packing, Kim encourages lightweight, breathable fabrics. 'Leave your suits and jeans behind. Think cool linens, cotton shirts, flowy dresses and shorts,' she advises. On the language front, she stresses the importance of polite French greetings. 'Try to greet people in French, and they appreciate the effort,' she says, noting many locals will respond with a smile and helpfully switch to English or suggest Google Translate. Reflecting on her trip, Kim jokes, 'This was my first visit to France, and I fell in love with Cannes. From the food and energy to the safety and the lack of load-shedding or water cuts!' She has already marked her calendar for a 2026 return. Kim concludes, 'Cannes is a magical destination, definitely add it to your bucket list.'
