Ashlee Simpson Shares Update on Sister Jessica Simpson Amid Eric Johnson Separation: ‘So Proud'

Yahoo12-02-2025

Ashlee Simpson Ross is cheering on her big sister, Jessica Simpson, amid her separation from estranged husband Eric Johnson.
The 'Pieces of Me' singer, 40, said that Jessica, 44, was in the 'best, best spirits' during an interview with Us Weekly published on Thursday, February 6.
'I just did an interview with her today. She has music coming, and it was so exciting. And I'm so proud of her,' Ashlee continued. 'We are strong little ladies, and, you know, I think that's a cool thing about life is just always growing and finding yourself, wherever that's supposed to be.'
Ashlee's words of encouragement came a little less than a month after the 'I Wanna Love You Forever' singer confirmed that she and Eric, 46, were separating.
'Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage,' Jessica told People in a statement published on January 13. 'Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.'
Rumors of trouble in the Dukes of Hazzard star's marriage began when she failed to acknowledge Eric's birthday in September of last year on social media. Instead, she shared a clip of a preacher talking about forgiveness.
'Forgiveness doesn't change the person who hurt you. Are you listening to me?' the preacher said. 'Forgiveness doesn't change that person. Forgiveness changes you. Guess what forgiveness does not do? Forgiveness does not mean you forget. One of the most crazy theories is that you forgive and forget. You don't forget, but you do have the opportunity to forgive every time you remember.'
Jessica was later spotted without her wedding ring, and she continued to fuel the speculation when she posted a cryptic message via Instagram about her return to music on November 11, 2024.
'Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,' Jessica wrote alongside a photo of herself in a white dress and black over-the-knee boots. 'This comeback is personal, it's an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.'
The following day, a source exclusively revealed to Life & Style that Jessica and the former NFL player's marriage was essentially over.
'Jessica has been reevaluating her happiness, her marriage and her business empire, and she is ready to start fresh,' the insider explained on November 12, 2024. 'It's pretty much over between her and Eric; it's only a matter of time before she files for divorce.'
Almost two weeks later, a separate source told Life & Style that Jessica had turned to Ashlee for advice about what to do regarding her crumbling relationship.
'Jessica's needing advice and support, and Ashlee's being there for her, picking up the phone when Jessica calls, taking Jessica shopping, and volunteering to look after the kids,' the insider said at the time. 'Ashlee has that street-smart edge, and she knows a few things. Ashlee is listening but she's also reminding Jessica of Eric's good qualities and giving Jessica a lot of food for thought.'

Julianne Hough Shares Intimate Video of Her 'Egg-Freezing Journey': 'Navigating Fertility Is Never Simple'

Julianne Hough shared a video on Instagram revealing that she's undergoing her third round of egg freezing "Here we go. All in the name of having a little baby," the Dancing with the Stars alum said in the clip Hough described the process as "one of the most vulnerable experiences… physically, emotionally, and for sure hormonally"Julianne Hough is sharing her journey to becoming a mother one day. The Dancing with the Stars alum revealed that she was freezing her eggs in a video offering an intimate look at the process, which she shared on her Instagram on Saturday, June 7. 'Here we go,' Hough said in the video that she dubbed her "egg freezing journey," noting it was 'all in the name of having a little baby.' The video takes viewers through the course of 10 days, where Hough is seen smiling and dancing while she injects herself. She is also seen going to doctor's appointments. Everything is happening.' is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! Hough went into greater detail in a lengthy caption accompanying the video, thanking Dr. Carolyn Alexander and her team at Southeast Crescent Regional Commission, which specializes in fertility care and helping to create families, according to its website. 'Navigating fertility is never simple, especially with endometriosis and my own personal timeline and hopes around having children… but with them, I've always felt safe, supported and fully informed,' she wrote, adding that this was now her third round of egg freezing.'I know it's not always the most comfortable thing to talk about, let alone share publicly. But I've realized how important it is to open up about these things,' she continued. 'Women all over the world are quietly walking into doctors' offices, making huge, brave decisions about their bodies and their futures.' Hough described the process as "one of the most vulnerable experiences… physically, emotionally, and for sure hormonally." She further reflected on why she wanted to be so transparent with her fans. 'If sharing just a small piece of my journey helps someone feel less alone, or inspires them to ask questions and explore what's right for them, then I feel like it's worth it,' she wrote. In a 2020 interview with Women's Health, Hough shared that her endometriosis — which is a reproductive condition in which uterine tissue grows outside of the uterus, causing cramping and chronic pain — made her want to freeze her eggs. 'I think the healthier I am from the inside out — as far as my beliefs, my energy, what I'm putting into my body — the better prepared I'll be when the time comes,' she said at the time, when she was married to Brooks Laich. 'We never actually tried to get pregnant. It was more of a precautionary measure: Let's do our due diligence for the future by freezing eggs.' Hough ended her June 7 post by once again thanking her medical team for their unwavering care. 'I truly couldn't be more grateful for this team who's been with me since my second endometriosis laparoscopy surgery back in 2017… they've been like family ever since 💛,' she wrote. Her post received an overwhelming amount of support from celebrities and fans alike, who applauded her for being so open.
