Cyclist dead after collision during GrandFondo ride: RCMP
Mounties say one cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after they were struck by a car on White Lake Road near St. Andrew's Drive during the annual Okanagan GrandFondo ride.
They say two other cyclists sustained serious injuries and have been taken to hospital.
In a social media post by GrandFondo, organizers say they are heartbroken over the fatality and their prayers are with everyone impacted.
White Lake Road remains closed while the investigation into the collision continues.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

New lawyer, jury trial to come for accused in Chipman double-murder case
One of two men accused of murder after two bodies were found in a burning vehicle near Chipman has acquired a new lawyer and waived a preliminary hearing. Corey Agnew is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Robert Waugh, 47, and Victoria King, 23. Their bodies were found on Nov. 25 in a vehicle in the Grand Lake community about 60 kilometres northeast of Fredericton. His new lawyer, T.J. Burke, told provincial court Judge Mélanie Poirier LeBlanc on Thursday that a preliminary hearing was not necessary and requested going right to jury trial. The Crown agreed. Agnew, from the Minto area of Grand Lake, was previously represented by lawyer Nathan Gorham. But last month, a Crown prosecutor told court he believed Gorham's firm was in a conflict of interest representing Agnew. The Crown did not say exactly why. Agnew, who was 35 when charged in January, appeared in court remotely from custody on Thursday, and Burke told the judge that Gorham had asked to be removed from the file. Poirier LeBlanc said the case now goes to the Court of King's Bench, and no next date has been assigned yet. On Jan. 20, RCMP announced Mark Elley had been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, and two days later, Agnew was charged.

Four arrested following ‘dangerous incidents involving stolen vehicles' in Moncton area
Three teens and a 20-year-old man have been arrested following 'dangerous incidents involving stolen vehicles' in the Moncton area. RCMP officers responded to a report late Tuesday afternoon that two vehicles located in a Salisbury business parking lot may have been stolen. 'As police approached with their emergency equipment activated, both vehicles fled at a high rate of speed towards the Homestead Road. Shortly after, one of the vehicles was disabled on Route 126,' said Cpl. Marc Belliveau, in a news release from the New Brunswick RCMP. Police say the driver, a 20-year-old Moncton man, and the passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Riverside-Albert, were arrested. The second vehicle continued fleeing but was intercepted on Catamount Road in Indian Mountain, according to the RCMP. The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Moncton, and the passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Moncton, were arrested. The 16-year-old girl from Riverside-Albert was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The two Moncton teens and the 20-year-old man all appeared in Moncton provincial court Wednesday. Nathaniel Beatty-Gratto, 20, was charged with: possession of property obtained by crime dangerous operation of a motor vehicle flight from a peace officer resisting a peace officer failure to comply with a probation order He was released from custody and is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 5. The 17-year-old boy was charged with: possession of property obtained by crime dangerous operation of a motor vehicle flight from police possession of weapons contrary to order failure to comply with conditions of a previous release order He was released from custody and is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 6. The 17-year-old girl was charged with: possession of property obtained by crime theft of a vehicle resisting a peace officer failure to comply with conditions of previous release orders She was released from custody and will return to court on Aug. 1.
