Avengers: Doomsday Fans Think Thor Actor Will Return After New Photo

Yahoo2 days ago

A prominent cast member of the MCU's Thor movies and WandaVision shared a photo with an extremely well-known Marvel prop, leading to speculations that she might be in Avengers: Doomsday. The highly anticipated superhero feature already has well over 25 confirmed main cast members and will likely add more as production continues.
Actress Kat Dennings, who plays Darcy Lewis in the MCU, shared a photo of herself with Captain America's shield on social media. 'Don't get excited, I was just sampling the hardware,' the 2 Broke Girls actress wrote in the caption. Notably, Dennings has portrayed Darcy in Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), WandaVision (2021), and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). She has also voiced the character in What If…?
Although Dennings' post advised fans not to get excited, they have already started speculating about whether her character would appear in Avengers: Doomsday. In the comment section of the post, one asked whether this photo was taken on the Doomsday set. Another wrote, 'Captain Lewis! Darcy best come back soon enough!'
Dennings indicated in the caption of her post that she was not part of the Doomsday cast. However, Marvel has historically kept significant details about the cast and plot of its projects secret, sometimes until their release. The Doomsday cast is still incomplete, so Dennings and others could be announced later.
Avengers: Doomsday premieres in U.S. theaters on December 18, 2026. Chris Hemsworth, Dennings' co-star from the Thor movies, is reprising his role as the MCU Norse God of Thunder in the feature. Accordingly, there could even be a subplot in Doomsday around Darcy and Thor.
The Russo brothers are directing Doomsday. Some of the other cast members are Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Clip Teases a Tragic Origin, Galactus, and a Whole Lot of Multiverse Mayhem — GeekTyrant

Some Marvel fans got a surprise taste of The Fantastic Four: First Steps over the weekend, thanks to a clip from the Marvel movie that screened during CCXP in Mexico and may have revealed a major piece of the MCU's bigger puzzle. According to Inverse (translating coverage from Omelete), the scene shows Marvel's First Family escaping a crumbling planet, one that's apparently in the process of being devoured by none other than Galactus. As the Silver Surfer chases down their ship, Sue Storm goes into labor, and Johnny Storm fights off the Silver Surfer as Reed Richards steps help his wife deliver the baby. As this is all going on, Ben Grimm pilots the ship into a black hole. Some fans seem to think that the scene could also confirm a theory that's been making the rounds since we all saw Thunderbolts* post-credits stinger. The theory is that the Fantastic Four team couldn't protect their world from being destroyed by Galactus, which forces them to find a new home, and this is where Earth-616 enters the picture. Of course, that's all speculation. It's just as likely they're trying to stop Galactus from reaching Earth by intercepting him early. This would place the clip as a second-act low point, where our heroes get a taste of what they're up against, barely escape, and live to fight another day. It's also worth noting that Marvel chose this scene to showcase at a fan convention. That suggests it's not some big third-act spoiler. More likely, it's a midpoint moment that sets the emotional and cosmic stakes moving forward. The new Fantastic Four movie unfolds in a slick, retro-futuristic alternate universe that riffs on the 1960s, which is an era where the Fantastic Four are the only known superheroes. Marvel's been pretty open about that setup, and they've confirmed that Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will reprise their roles in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars . It's clear The Fantastic Four: First Steps is aiming for something big, epic stakes with emotional core, all powered by that team chemistry we've seen teased so far.

Marvel closed out PlayStation's State of Play livestream event in a big way Wednesday with the surprise announcement of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. The title, which hails from acclaimed developer Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, Dragon Ball FighterZ) along with PlayStation Studios and Marvel Games, is an anime-inspired fighting game with four vs. four tag team battles. Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Storm, Ghost Rider, Doctor Doom and Ms. Marvel are the first characters confirmed for the game, with more on the way.
