Assessing Terrance Ferguson's performance at the 2024 NFL Combine
The 2025 NFL Combine continued for the Oregon Ducks on Thursday, with senior tight end Terrance Ferguson leading the way, hitting the field for some drills and getting his measurables taken.
Ferguson was among the biggest winners of the day for the tight ends who took the field, turning heads in just about every drill. On Thursday, Ferguson stated that he knew his 40-yard dash time was going to be quick, so the expectations were set pretty high going into Friday's drill.
Ferguson lived up to those expectations, posting the fastest time among all TE's.
In the end, Ferguson received a combine score of 6.0, with a tag of "traits or talents to be an above average backup," according to NFL.com.
Here's a look at all of Ferguson's numbers from the day:
Measurables
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 247 pounds
Hand Size: 9 1/4 inches
Arm Length: 32 7/8 inches
40-yard Dash
Time: 4.63 seconds
Rank at Position: 1st of 14 Players
Terrance Ferguson turned some heads in the 40-yard dash on Friday, running a 4.64u in his first attempt, which was the fastest of the group. He bettered that with his second attempt, clocking a 4.63, which stood as the fastest among all TE's to run.
The second fastest was South Carolina's Joshua Simon at 4.65.
10-Yard Split
Official Split Time: 1.55 seconds
Rank at Position: T1st of 14 Players
Ferguson was tied for the fastest 10-yard split in the 40-yard dash at 1.55 seconds, along with Notre Dames Mitchell Evans.
Vertical Jump
Official Measurement: 39.0"
Rank at Position: 1st of 15 players
The vertical jump is another drill where Ferguson dominated, jumping higher than any other TE in the field at the combine. The second-highest jump was, again, from South Carolina's Joshua Simon at 38.0."
Broad Jump
Official Measurement: 10'2"
Rank at Position: 3rd of 14 players
While Ferguson didn't have the farthest broad jump in the group, 10'2" is nothing to be disappointed by, and he was 3rd among all tight ends.
Nebraska's Thomas Fidone II had the longest jump at 10'6."

Collin Murray-Boyles clarifies viral moment after No. 9 pick

The post Collin Murray-Boyles clarifies viral moment after No. 9 pick appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Toronto Raptors used their lottery pick at No. 9 to select Collin Murray-Boyles in the 2025 NBA Draft. Coming into draft night, the Raptors reportedly offered the No. 9 pick to the Boston Celtics for Derrick White, but it appears as if those talks did not progress any further. As they held onto their pick, Murray-Boyles is the newest member of the Raptors. Following a viral moment after the announcement of the pick, the former South Carolina standout clarified what actually happened, as per Michael Grange of Sportsnet. Advertisement When it was announced that the Raptors had selected Collin Murray-Boyles in the first round of the NBA Draft, he was caught on camera seemingly mouthing an expletive. But when asked about the moment, Murray-Boyles reassured Raptors fans that his reaction was nothing bad. 'What I said was not a bad thing by any means,' Murray-Boyles said. 'Just a crazy moment, obviously thankful for the opportunity. . .and ready to take it full on and do whatever they need me to do.' Murray-Boyles took a big leap in his sophomore season at South Carolina. He became a permanent fixture in the starting lineup and saw his playing time jump from 22.8 minutes per game to 30.6 minutes. He averaged 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds. 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocked shots with splits of 58.6 percent shooting from the field, 26.5 percent shooting from the three-point line and 70.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line. The young forward joins an intriguing young core with the Raptors including budding star Scottie Barnes. Murray-Boyles will certainly give the team additional depth at forward. But it will be interesting to see where he fits considering the Raptors' current depth at forward. Barnes plays forward, and the team is also expecting the debut of Brandon Ingram in the 2025-26 season. Advertisement Promising youngster Jonathan Mogbo plays forward and veteran RJ Barrett can shift between positions as well. Heading into the offseason, the Raptors have been a team that has reportedly had multiple trade talks. Dawn Staley Is Being Mentioned For NBA Coaching Job

Dawn Staley Is Being Mentioned For NBA Coaching Job originally appeared on The Spun. Dawn Staley has suddenly emerged as a potential candidate for one of the most intriguing jobs in the NBA. Since taking over South Carolina's basketball team in 2008, Staley has proven herself as an elite coach. She has won three national titles and has made it to the Final Four a whopping seven times over the past decade alone. Advertisement Even though Staley hasn't shown any interest in leaving South Carolina, she's apparently on the New York Knicks' radar. This was first reported by Knicks Fan TV on Saturday. "According to league sources, both Taylor Jenkins and Mike Brown are headed for a second round of interviews. Micah Nori is still being considered. The Knicks have also reached out to South Carolina HC Dawn Staley about the job," Knicks Fan TV wrote. Staley has no NBA coaching experience, but her résumé warrants an interview at the minimum. (Photo by)Interestingly enough, Staley wouldn't owe South Carolina any money if she were to accept a coaching job from an NBA team. Advertisement "It was important for me to have a guaranteed contract, but to have a guaranteed contract you have to give them something," Staley said, via Greenville News. "I will never leave here to coach another college job. I have the best of the best here." Back in 2021, Staley talked about the pressure the first-ever female NBA head coach would face. "A lot of people would be out there, just waiting for you to make a mistake, waiting for you to be wrong," Staley said. "There's a whole dynamic that men, white or Black, just don't have to think about. It's a female thing. The expectation will be so much greater than the male coach. So much greater." If Staley were to become the next head coach of the Knicks, there'd be even more pressure on her shoulders since the team is built to contend for a title. Basketball Fans React To Dawn Staley, New York Knicks Rumor

Basketball Fans React To Dawn Staley, New York Knicks Rumor originally appeared on The Spun. As the New York Knicks continue their coaching search, the team is allegedly taking an interesting detour involving South Carolina head women's basketball coach Dawn Staley. Advertisement It was the popular Knicks news account Knicks Fan TV that reported on Saturday that Staley is one of several candidates that the team has reached out to regarding their coaching position. "Knicks News: According to league sources, both Taylor Jenkins and Mike Brown are headed for a second round of interviews. Micah Nori is still being considered. The Knicks have also reached out to South Carolina HC Dawn Staley about the job," the outlet reported. Staley ranks among the greatest women's basketball players and coaches of all-time. As head coach of South Carolina, she has won three national titles and has recently led the Gamecocks to five straight Final Four appearances. Advertisement But despite her stellar resume in women's basketball, the reaction to this report has been mixed at best. Some fans believe that the Knicks are trying to make a bold, splashy hire while others believe that the team's attempt to reach out to Staley is just them having no idea what they're doing at all. "Lmao ok this run is over. Leon wants out it's clear. I will never witness a championship in my life," one user remarked. "Can Adam Silver force Jim Dolan to sell the team?" another asked. "Love Staley but that's really unserious at this point in the game," wrote another. "Plz no. We don't need a woman HC. I'm not trying to be the laughing stock of the league when (expletive) hits the fan." Advertisement "Even considering Dawn Staley has me ill." COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA - DECEMBER 11: Head coach Dawn Staley of the South Carolina Gamecocks looks on in the second quarter during their game against the Liberty Lady Flames at Colonial Life Arena on December 11, 2022 in Columbia, South Carolina. (Photo by)"If there is ever a female Head Coach in the NBA the Knicks are not the team to start that trend." "It's sad how desperate they are. Terrible job by Dolan over stepping and getting rid of tibs. He has to learn you can't have the players call the shots. It never works. They will waste the prime of JB and some others and hope and pray in another 3 or 4 years #Knicks." That's a lot of negativity being directed at the Knicks over the Staley rumor. The Knicks haven't made any decisions yet and it's not even clear if the interest is mutual. But if there was ever a women's basketball coach qualified to coach in the NBA, it would probably be Staley.
