GABRIEL says Arsenal will hit 'new heights' this season following another agonising year as the Premier League's nearly men.
The Gunners have posted THREE consecutive second-placed finishes in the league under boss Mikel Arteta – finishing ten points off Arne Slot's champions Liverpool last term.

And after a heartbreaking Champions League semi-final defeat to eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain, it is now FIVE years without a trophy for the North Londoners.
But Brazilian centre back Gabriel, 27 – who signed a new four-year deal last month – is confident they can finally shake off the tag of top-flight bridesmaids.
He said: 'I only have one thing to say, and Mikel says it: We are ready to reach new heights this season.
'I've been at the club for five years now and I've seen how much the club has grown. I am here to win big titles and I do believe that this season will be different.

'We have let a couple of titles slip through our fingers recently. We almost won but this year, things will be different. I have a lot of faith in that.'
Arteta was left to rue key injuries that hampered Arsenal's title charge last campaign with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Ben White, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus suffering long-term lay-offs at crucial times.
Gabriel was also ruled out for the remainder of the season in April, requiring hamstring surgery – with attackers Saka and Havertz undergoing the same procedure.
He is back and raring to go with the club now out in Singapore for their pre-season tour, facing AC Milan on Wednesday and Newcastle on the weekend, before travelling to Hong Kong to take on fierce rivals Tottenham.
Gabriel added: 'I don't think we can give excuses; we did everything we could in the last three years.
'I feel like we had a little bit of bad luck sometimes.

'But we all believe that we can win big titles. The pre-season has started.
'We're focused on what our manager is telling us to do, and what we have to do, and what we have to improve.
'This year will be different.'

Arsenal have suffered a setback in their pre-season after they were unable to train on the first day of their tour of Asia. The Gunners began their preparations for the new season with an optional training camp in Marbella before jetting to Singapore to formally start pre-season. Arsenal are set to play AC Milan and Newcastle at the National Stadium on July 23 and 27 respectively, before travelling to Hong Kong for the first north London derby match held outside the UK when they face rivals Tottenham at Kai Tak Stadium on July 31. Mikel Arteta named a 30-player travelling squad which included new signings Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard and when asked about Arsenal's pre-season preparations after arriving in Singapore, the Gunners boss said: "A very good period in Spain. "Trained really hard with the new signings. Super exited to be here. An incredible welcome from our supporters here, they are so passionate. And adapting to the context, the weather we were unable to train today. We have to adapt to those situations too and very excited to have a successful tour." Arteta also addressed Arsenal's transfer business, with Noni Madueke not joining the squad in Asia after featuring for Chelsea at the Club World Cup and deals for striker Viktor Gyokeres and defender Cristhian Mosquera yet to be finalised. When asked about the new signings, Arteta added: "It's like shaking the tree again. Bringing new faces, they bring new excitement, new energy as well. We signed very important players as well. I think everybody feels that the heights have to go to different level and it's what we are seeking. "It was a long process [signing Zubimendi] and he had a lot of opportunities to decide about whether he wanted to come. The good news is that this club is amazing and everyone wants to come to it. He left some very good opportunities to come to us. "We are all very impressed about what we have seen over the last 7-10 days. Because once you have the player daily and you see his character, his personality, his character and how much he is going to bring to the team. Very excited about it. "There's still a long time in the window and we are seeking still, in terms of numbers, we are short and we have to improve the depth and quality of the squad. We are constantly looking in the market. Until that happens, focus on the players we have and focus on them and I'm very pleased with what I have seen in the last 10-15 days. Alexander Isak's agent addresses transfer speculation after Celtic omission
Alexander Isak 's agent has addressed the rumours over his client's future amid transfer interest in the Newcastle United forward from Premier League rivals Liverpool fc. Isak was left out of the squad for the Magpies pre-season friendly against Celtic with manager Eddie Howe admitting he wanted to remove him from 'scrutiny' due to the speculation he may leave the club. Reports have previously said that Liverpool are willing to spend big money - in advance of £125m though perhaps closer to £150m - for Isak this summer as they look to strengthen under manager Arne Slot. Howe is adamant that Isak is not for sale and is confident that he will start the season at St. James' Park. However, Isak's agent, Gonzalo Gaitan, has cast doubt on that stance. Gaitan spoke to Saudi Arabian newspaper Arriyadiyah and revealed that Isak's camp are 'analysing all options'. He said: 'We are indeed studying and analysing all options, and we may be close to finalising the next step for the player. Without revealing any details regarding whether Isak will transfer or stay with Newcastle.' Following Newcastle's defeat to Celtic at the weekend Howe explained that his club want to 'treasure' Isak as one of their best players but admits he doesn't have 100% clarity on whether the striker will remain at the club. 'I chose to send him home. The last thing Alex wants if he is not playing is to be sat in the stand and under that scrutiny, then if he wasn't going to play today, we mutually agreed he shouldn't be here,' said Howe. 'It was my decision. He travelled back to Glasgow with us, but I decided to send him home due to the speculation around him. I've had discussions with him, but that's not abnormal.
