Olympic champion 'attacks boyfriend' in leaked airport video

Olympic gold medallist Sha'Carri Richardson was caught on CCTV footage seemingly having a heated altercation with her boyfriend, leading to her arrest last month.
The leaked video captures the moment the USA's Paris 4×100m relay champion appears to forcefully grab and push her partner, fellow American sprinter Christian Coleman. The pair are seen walking along when Richardson, 25, suddenly reaches for Coleman's backpack from behind.
During what looks like a fiery exchange, Richardson is seen shoving her 29-year-old partner against a pillar.
Onlookers start to notice the commotion as the couple momentarily disappear from view. When they re-emerge, they're seen heading towards security, with Richardson continuing to be physical with Coleman. A different camera angle seems to show Richardson throwing an object at Coleman before she walks off in a huff. Subsequently, Coleman is observed speaking with a group of police officers, as reported by the Daily Star.
Richardson, who secured gold with Team USA in the 4x100m relay, landed in trouble after being arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, resulting in a 18-hour stay in custody before being let go. Coleman later stated he had no intention of pressing charges.
Port of Seattle Police received information from Richardson that the argument kicked off over Coleman taking her headphones. "Richardson advised she did not assault him in any way and the dispute was only a verbal argument," the police report noted.
Coleman stepped up to defend Richardson amidst the controversy, as Citius Mag reported his words: "For me personally, I feel like it was a sucky situation all round," he said.
"I don't feel like she should have been arrested. I'm the type of guy who's in the business of extending grace, and mercy and love. It didn't affect me. She's a human being and a great person, and I feel like you know, we've been able to be really good team-mates all year. We're just two dominant personalities. To me, she's the best female athlete in the world.
"She's just had a lot of things going on, lot of emotions and forces going on inside of her that not only I can't understand, but nobody can. She's one-of-one. I know it's been a tough journey for her this year."
"But she's gonna bounce back because she's the best female athlete in the world. I see it every day. She's gonna be just fine. She gonna be good, and I'm gonna be good too."

Mexico transfers 26 more cartel members to US

Mexico has sent more than two dozen suspected cartel members to the US, amid rising pressure from President Donald Trump on Mexico to dismantle the country's powerful drug organisations. Authorities shipped 26 prisoners wanted in the US for ties to drug-trafficking groups, Mexico's attorney general's office and security ministry said in a joint statement. Mexico said the US Department of Justice had requested their extradition and that it would not seek the death penalty for the accused cartel members. The transfer is the second of its kind this year. In February, Mexican authorities sent 29 alleged cartel leaders to the US, sparking a debate about the political and legal grounds for such a move. That Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum permitting yet another large-scale extradition of Mexican nationals underscores the balancing act she faces to appease Mr Trump while also avoiding unilateral US military action in Mexico. In a statement, the US Embassy said among those extradited were key figures in the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and the Sinaloa Cartel, which are Mexico's two dominant-organised crime groups. "This transfer is yet another example of what is possible when two governments unite against violence and impunity," US Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson said in a statement. "These fugitives will now face justice in American courts, and the citizens of both our nations will be safer." Mr Trump has tied tariffs on Mexico to the deadly fentanyl trade, claiming the country hasn't tackled drug cartels aggressively enough. Last week, he directed the Pentagon to prepare operations against Mexican drug gangs that have been designated global terrorist organisations. Ms Sheinbaum has said the US and Mexico are nearing a security agreement to expand cooperation in the fight against cartels. However, she has flatly rejected suggestions by the Trump administration that it could carry out unilateral military operations in Mexico.

US sprinter Fred Kerley provisionally suspended for whereabouts failures

Olympic 100 metres silver and bronze medallist Fred Kerley has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit for whereabouts failures, the organisation said on Tuesday. American Kerley, the 100m world champion in 2022, plans to contest the allegation that he violated anti-doping rules. "He strongly believes that one or more of his alleged missed tests should be set aside either because he was not negligent or because the Doping Control Officer did not do what was reasonable under the circumstances to locate him at his designated location," an attorney for Kerley said in a statement posted on his X account. He withdrew from the U.S. track and field trials late last month, writing on social media that he was: "Taking some time out to get back on track." "The 100m should be a straight sprint. 2025 has presented many hurdles," he wrote on X. "Thanks to all my supporters." He last competed a month ago at the Grand Sprint Series in Norwalk, California.

Callum Walsh next fight confirmed as Irishman to appear on huge September card

Callum Walsh will return to the ring next month as part of the undercard for the huge fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford. Corkman Walsh will take on Fernando Vargas Jr in a Super-Lightweight clash at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on September 13th. 'King' Callum holds a perfect record of 14-0, with 11 wins coming by knockout. He had his first fight of the year in March, knocking out Dean Sutherland in quick fashion. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Terence Crawford His second fight of 2025 took place in June against Elias Espadas. Walsh suffered a nasty cut and was deemed unable to continue, however, as the fight had reached the fifth round, the judges scorecards were used to determine the winner, with Walsh being awarded the victory via technical decision. In Vargas Jr (17-0), he takes on by far the toughest test of his career as he steps into the ring with the undefeated Mexican, whose father, Fernando Vargas Sr, was a two-time World champion and fought fighters of the calibre of Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya. It's a major achievement for the Dana White backed Walsh to secure the undercard for Canelo v Crawford, which will be broadcast around the world live on Netflix. Katie Taylor (Image:for Netflix) Crawford is moving up two weight classes to take on Canelo for the Mexican icon's Undisputed super-middleweight crown. Should the American win, he will become the first boxer to become a three-weight undisputed champion in the four belt (WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF) era of the sport. Only 11 men have been undisputed champion and none have been outright champion of more than two weight classes. Claressa Shields has achieved this feat in the female game (WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO), while Ireland's Katie Taylor has held all four titles in the lightweight division, and currently is undisputed at super-lightweight (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and IBO.)
