Another customer experienced difficulties with the fit and explained: "Beautiful item, but material is not forgiving and whilst I've bought numerous products in my size, this was way too small". However, one customer was so enamoured with the product that they bought another. They shared: "Absolutely love this longline jacket. I've purchased the navy one first and when this came up in sale, I just had to get it too." There's a coyote couple living in Central Park and we're obsessed with them
You wouldn't initially think it, but New York wildlife is far more exotic than just humdrum pigeons and park squirrels. We've seen superstar owl kings get their own exhibits at The New-York Historical Society, flashy Mandarin ducks inspire Bette Midler-penned kids' books and actual seahorses bobbing around the Hudson River. And now we can add two more unexpected creatures that have captured local hearts: the Central Park coyotes. Yes, coyotes do exist in New York City—the howlers "have been present in New York since the 1930s, and have been firmly established throughout the state since the 1970s," popping up in urban areas including parks and residential neighborhoods, per the City of New York. The site details that "Eastern coyotes, like many New York City residents, are naturally curious and adaptable" and can "explore as much as 10 miles of open space in a single day—that's roughly the distance from Wall Street to the top of Central Park." And two members of the proverbial pack have been doing exactly that: A coyote couple affectionately known as Romeo and Juliet—BRB, swooning—has been gaining attention throughout NYC thanks to their romantic nighttime visits to the Delacorte Theater (somebody get them Shakespeare in the Park tickets, STAT) and woodsy cuddles in the Bramble. View this post on Instagram A post shared by JacquelineUWS (@jacquelineuws) Local wildlife photographers David Lei and Jaqueline Emery—who similarly gave a spotlight to the dearly departed Flaco with their photography book Finding Flaco: Our Year with New York City's Beloved Owl — revealed that they have been lovingly trailing the furry canine duo for six years in a recent profile in Smithsonian magazine. Per the photogs, Romeo and Juliet have been coupled up since 2023 and were even spotted, ahem, celebrating Valentine's Day together this year. (Seriously, our hearts can't take anymore.) As of yet, the twosome are happily DINKS (that is, double income, no kids), having not yet produced any pups. But coyotes are monogamous and mate for life, so the pair have plenty of time to expand their fuzzy fam. View this post on Instagram A post shared by JacquelineUWS (@jacquelineuws) Now, as delighted as we are by this adorable coyote coupling, it's important to remember that wild canines such as Romeo and Juliet are very much predators and should be respected as such. Per the NYC Parks Department: "Seeing a coyote for the first time can be an exhilarating or an alarming experience. If you see a coyote, do not panic. Most coyotes are not dangerous to people. Nationwide, only a handful of coyote bites are reported each year." As for coexisting safely and peacefully with the likes of Romeo and Juliet? Don't feed them ("Keeping coyotes wild is the key to coexistence," stresses the Parks Department), mind your own pets (again, these guys are professional hunters), don't leave food or garbage behind in the park (which is good advice whether or not a coyote is involved), and if you do encounter one IRL, "act big and make loud noises until the coyote retreats." Basically, do to the coyotes as you would any other New Yorkers—mind your damn business! In the meantime, we'll be here crushing on these cuties from the safety of our Instagram accounts. Damson Madder's flattering midi dress gets me so many compliments and is now 50% off
Damson Madder's leopard print midi dress is so flattering that I tracked it down after spotting it on someone in the street - it got me so many compliments and it's now 50% off If you've ever spotted an outfit 'in the wild' and thought to yourself 'I have to have that' then welcome to the club. When I spotted someone wearing Damson Madder's leopard print Persephone Midi Dress on the street in London, I was so taken by how flattering and effortlessly cool it was that I immediately had to track it down. So imagine my joy when I discovered that not only was it still in stock, but it had a huge 50% discount, taking the price from £95 to £48. It went straight into my basket, and I've never been so happy with a purchase. I wore the Persephone Midi Dress the very next day for dinner and drinks with a friend, and I can't remember the last time a dress got me so many compliments. From strangers to friends to people on Instagram, everyone raved about how flattering, unusual and fun the dress was, with its drop waist and bow details. It has a fitted bodice with a square neckline and thin spaghetti straps that are fully adjustable, and a shirred back which gives you some movement whilst still keeping its fitted silhouette. Whilst I wasn't sure if the drop waist would suit my body type – I'm petite at 5ft 4' and a curvy size 14 – I was pleasantly surprised by how much taller and proportionate it made me look. I did size up from my usual size and I'm glad I did, as it kept the Persephone Midi Dress form-fitting but didn't feel too restrictive and tight. The fabric has minimal stretch apart from the shirring and is made from a fairly structured material, so I felt a size up hung a little nicer and didn't highlight any lumps and bumps. You can pick up the Damson Madder dress in sizes six to 20, and currently only the size 8 is out of stock in the leopard print. If animal print isn't your thing, you can also get it in a black and white gingham check, which has contrasting black bows on the hips and an even bigger discount, currently reduced to £38. What I loved most about the Persephone Midi Dress is that it's effortless enough to wear for both day and evening. A pair of ballet flats, sandals or even trainers make it laid back enough for brunch, picnics in the park or even sightseeing on holiday, whilst a simple swap to some kitten heels and a clutch would give it some drama for evenings out. If you prefer a more minimalist silhouette, River Island's Beige Long Sleeve Leopard Print Midi Dress is now £15 down from £32, and has a fitted design with long sleeves. Alternatively, New Look's £44 Gini London Grey Animal Print Ruched Jersey Dress has a similar effortless look with a high neck and sleeveless shape.
