'You missed': New details emerge as teens charged in Burnsville graduation night shooting
Two 18-year-olds from Bloomington and Shakopee are facing drive-by shooting charges in connection to an incident following the Burnsville High School graduation ceremony on Friday, June 6.
Abdulahi Jama Ali, of Shakopee, and Abdikani Mukhtar Abdiwahab, of Bloomington, were charged Monday in Dakota County District Court, Ali is charged with two counts of drive-by shooting and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon. Abdiwahab is facing two drive-by shooting charges and other counts for aiding an offender.
According to the criminal complaint, gunshots rang out west of Burnsville High School around 8:30 p.m., which was approximately 30 minutes after the graduation ceremony concluded.
The shots were fired after police on scene had already broken up "several physical altercations" and attempted to disperse two groups who were "flashing gang signs towards each other."
Ali and Abdiwahab were arrested after bystanders pointed police in the direction of the black Toyota Camry they were in. Abdiwahab was driving and Ali was in the front passenger seat, according to the complaint.
While arresting the duo, officers heard a bystander shout, "Ksoe, you missed. You dumb ass. You missed." The complaint claims that Ali's nickname is "Ksoe."
Further investigation revealed, allegedly, that the bystander who mocked "Ksoe" for missing was seen earlier — by witnesses in a vehicle behind the Toyota Camry — approach the Camry and talk with the duo before he "tried to punch the Camry" before the witness "saw the barrel of a gun come out of the front passenger window and open fire."
Police found a handgun with an extended magazine under the front passenger seat. They also found one bullet casing on the driver's side floorboard and two more casings on the street by the vehicle.
One bullet fragment was found lodged into the headlight of a vehicle parked nearby.
Abdiwahab allegedly waived his Miranda rights and claimed he didn't shoot a gun and didn't know anything about a gun being shot. He also said he didn't know how a gun wound up in his car.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension collected DNA samples from the gun, Ali and Abdiwahab for analysis.
No one was physically injured in the shooting.

A well-known Florida Keys charter fishing captain was fatally shot near Orlando late last week following what police say appears to be an argument with another man over traffic. Joseph Hall, Jr., 43, was pronounced dead at HCA Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford around 5:45 p.m. Thursday night. Just minutes earlier, witnesses told police they saw another man, 24-year-old Jaden Harris, running after Hall at an apartment building parking lot with a handgun and shooting at him several times. Harris told police he followed Hall to try taking a picture of his license plate. When they arrived at a Stop sign at West Seminole Boulevard and Mangoustine Avenue, Hall rolled his window down and called him an expletive for a female body part. Harris followed Hall as he made a left turn onto West Seminole Boulevard. Hall pulled into the apartment complex on Marbella Lane, Harris told police. There, Harris told police Hall blocked the parking lot exit with his Jeep and got out of the vehicle, approaching the BMW, according to the report. As Hall got closer to the BMW, Harris let him know that 'had it on him,' meaning his gun, according to the report. He said Hall 'lunged' toward the car, and that's when he fired his first shot, the report states. Per the arrest report, when the first officer arrived and found Harris standing by his car, the cop asked him if he was the one who shot Hall. He responded, 'I had to because he was blocking me in,' the report states. After detectives asked Harris to tell them more about what was said before he opened fire, he told them he wanted an attorney, so they stopped questioning him, according to the report. Based on what witnesses told police, what Harris told them, and after viewing security camera footage from the apartment building, officers arrested him on a charge of second-degree murder. The footage did not capture the shooting, but shows Harris' BMW rolling backwards before he catches up to it and puts the car in park. This corroborates what witnesses say, that he got out of the car and kept firing, according to the report. Detectives said Harris 'had several opportunities to disengage from pursuing Joseph but maliciously continued instead. Based on Jaden's post Miranda interview, he never stated that at the time of the incident he was ever in fear for his life.' Detectives also note in the report that neither Harris nor the witnesses ever said Hall was armed. 'Joseph did not cause Jaden any injury or harm to him that would justify the use of deadly force,' the report states. A judge ordered Harris held without bond until his scheduled Oct. 7 arraignment, according to Seminole County court records. News of Hall's death hit the Upper Keys community hard after his wife, Devi, with whom he shares two children, posted about it via Facebook on Saturday. 'He was full of life, laughter, and love, and I am so grateful for every moment we had together,' she wrote. Hall owned and captained the 65-foot Sailors Choice Party Fishing Boat as well as the Anglers Choice sportfishing charter boat, both based out of the mile marker 99.7 oceanside marina in Key Largo. Tributes from loyal customers, crew and colleagues have continued to pour in to the Sailors Choice Facebook page since Hall's death. 'We are so deeply sorry for your loss. Shooting in Philadelphia's East Germantown neighborhood leads to multi-vehicle crash, 2 people injured
Two people were injured in a shooting that led to a multi-vehicle crash just after midnight on Sunday in Philadelphia's East Germantown neighborhood, according to police. Investigators said that a gray Toyota Camry was turning onto 21st Street from West Conlyn Street when shots were fired and hit the car. According to police, a 21-year-old man, who was driving the Toyota Camry, was struck in the head. Police said a 20-year-old passenger in the Toyota Camry was shot in the right arm. After shots were fired, the Toyota crashed into parked cars along the 5800 block of 21st Street, according to police. The 20-year-old passenger was able to exit the car and flagged down a SEPTA bus at Kemble Avenue and Nedro Street. However, police said that the passenger was brought to Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital by a passerby driving a silver vehicle. Medics brought the 21-year-old driver to Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital in extremely critical condition, according to police. No arrests have been made, and no motive has been uncovered in the shooting, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

Two car crash in Solano County kills one person, injures several
One person was killed and several injured in a two car crash on Highway 12 in Solano County on Friday, the CHP said. The crash occurred at 5:03 p.m. when the driver of a tan Toyota Camry tried to pass a big-rig in the eastbound lanes of Highway 12 west of Highway 13 in Rio Vista, according to CHP Sgt. P. Crow. The driver swerved, lost control and entered the westbound lanes of Highway 12 where the Toyota was struck by an oncoming Nissan Pathfinder. The Toyota driver died at the scene and the passengers in the Nissan were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. KCRA-TV reported that the Nissan was carrying four occupants. The highway remained closed as the CHP investigated the crash. Lanes reopened at about 9:30 p.m.
