Suki stunned in EastEnders early BBC iPlayer release as Avani makes her choice

Metro3 days ago
This article contains spoilers for tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed now on iPlayer.
Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) has made her own decision regarding her pregnancy, leaving grandmother Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) shocked to the core.
As viewers have seen so far, a troubled Avani confided in best mate Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) about her pregnancy fears.
She was terrified by the prospect of raising twisted Joel Marshall's (Max Murray) child, and knew that she'd have to take a test to confirm whether or not she was expecting.
In the office at Harry's Barn, her worst nightmare was confirmed – the test was positive.
Avani immediately made plans to terminate the pregnancy, asking Barney to help her source abortion pills online. He told her she'd have to use legal methods – so she set about doing some research.
Suki noticed her looking at a clinic online, and came up with an alternative solution.
She noted that it could be Avani's only chance to have a child, and she didn't want her to regret it. The teen remained firm on her decision, and was prepared to open up to mum Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) and dad Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) about her ordeal.
At the abortion clinic, Suki convinced Avani that it might be best if she were to raise the child as her own alongside wife Eve (Heather Peace) – who she hadn't consulted.
When Eve found out, she was under the belief that Avani had purposely got pregnant in order to provide a child for Suki.
As tensions began to rise, she branded the situation as abuse.
Suki was incredulous to see her wife escalating the row, comparing her attitude to wicked ex-husband Nish (Navin Chowdhry).
This week, Eve could see how much the pregnancy was already starting to have an impact on Avani's physical and mental health. She was suffering from morning sickness and body confidence issues, hiding away in the corner at Amy Mitchell's (Ellie Dadd) hot tub party.
Sitting the teen down, she insisted that considered herself and what she wanted before anyone else.
It became immediately clear that Avani didn't want to upset Suki, and actually wanted an abortion.
In today's episode, the two created a fake story, saying that they were spending the day together working and would be heading to the suppliers. Suki was suspicious, but didn't think that they would go as far to betray her wishes.
At the clinic, Eve spoke openly about the abandonment issues with her family, and Avani considered whether she'll be on her own when the news of her 'baby loss' was revealed.

Eve reassured her that everything would be ok, unaware that back in Albert Square, Suki had decided to come clean to Ravi and Priya without their knowledge. More Trending
However, in a killer twist, Avani and Eve managed to reach them before she did, and as Suki walked into the room, she discovered that there was no longer a baby.
A furious Ravi stood in the corner of the room, clearly ready to unleash his inner anger.

Nicola struggles over emotional death in EastEnders as resident offers support

EastEnders' Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) may have a tough exterior, but she struggles with her emotions as a difficult day arrives next week – and she soon finds comfort in the arms of a local resident. Forthcoming scenes on the BBC soap will see the Harry's Barn owner wrestling with her feelings as the anniversary of her late father's death arrives. Nicola's ex-husband Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) advises recent fling George Knight (Colin Salmon) to give her a wide berth, but he ignores the warning. George and Nicola later compare notes about their difficult relationships with their fathers, and the spark between them is reignited. While they recently agreed to keep their relationship professional after sleeping together last month, they end up giving in to passion once again. However, they soon find themselves at odds after George's brother Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) is arrested. As fans of the BBC soap know, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) has been forcing Nicola's son Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) to deal drugs after Kojo innocently flushed a stash he'd found in the boot of Ravi's car at The Arches. Ravi, Harry and their associate Okie have also been using Kojo's flat – where Harry is living with Kojo – for their illegal activities, and next week Okie gives Kojo a pill to stop him talking when he walks in on him in the middle of a deal. Devastating new scenes confirmed for Debbie in Corrie as an ambulance is called

There's concern for Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) in Coronation Street as she dramatically collapses at number 13 and is rushed to hospital. Debbie was diagnosed with dementia after going to the doctor with symptoms she assumed to be due to the menopause. She'd been becoming increasingly forgetful, mislaying things and missing meetings. Added to this were mood swings and then, most alarmingly, blackouts. The doctor told Debbie that the blackouts were probably due to mini-strokes and warned her that this could happen again, and said that her symptoms were due to dementia. At first Debbie kept her diagnosis a secret. Her brother Kevin (Michael Le Vell) had his own health struggles as he was dealing with cancer and Debbie didn't want to give him more to worry about. She also pushed away long-term partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), feeling she didn't want to be a burden on him. Eventually she opened up about her health to her close friends and family. Insisting she wanted to carry on as normally as possible, she also reconciled with Ronnie and recently proposed to him at Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove)'s wedding. Things take a turn for the worse in upcoming episodes, however, when Debbie lets herself into Kevin's house to do a spot of cleaning while she thinks Kevin and the family are away on holiday. What she doesn't realise is that Abi (Sally Carman) has faked losing her passport so she can stay behind and spend time with her new lover – Kevin and Debbie's brother, Carl (Jonathan Howard). As Debbie lets herself into the house she's unaware that Carl is upstairs, while Abi has popped out to buy some lager. More Trending It's just as well Carl is there, as it turns out, because Debbie is suddenly overcome by dizziness and collapses. Carl hears the commotion and goes down to investigate, and finds his sister in a bad way. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Emmerdale confirms major Charity and Ross twist as the baby might not be Sarah's

Last week, ITV soap Emmerdale delivered a massive storyline twist. In tonight's episode, they did the exact same thing again. The plot development last Thursday saw Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) kiss her ex Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick). Prior to this, Charity decided to get drunk in the pub following a massive row with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). She then ended up back at Vanessa's, who wanted to help Charity sober up. Charity kissed Vanessa, but we didn't see what happened next. In the episode last Friday and then the ones that have aired this week so far, it was just sort of suggested that their kiss should be left in the past and was considered a mistake. In tonight's episode, Charity headed to the hospital with Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), Mack and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant). They went for another scan, with Charity under the impression her first embryo transfer hadn't worked. In the room, the doctor confirmed that Charity is pregnant. The group were completely thrilled. It was definitely a bit of a shock, considering the fall and Charity's bleeding, but the doctor smiled – there was a heartbeat. The family returned home and set about organising a little celebratory afternoon in the pub. Once the likes of Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) arrived, the news was revealed, and they were all elated. It was at this point that things started to change, as Ross Barton (Michael Parr) wandered in. He caught up on the development and spoke to Charity outside. She was on edge, and the flashback scene quickly allowed us to understand why. After kissing Vanessa, Charity was thrown out of her house. She stumbled through the street and then came across Ross, who was miserable following the departure of Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay). The two characters kissed, and then had sex. Is Ross the father of Charity's baby? Back in present day, with knowledge that Charity is now pregnant, Ross couldn't help but wonder if the baby is his. Charity denied this, telling Ross their sex was meaningless and the baby belongs to Sarah and Jacob – but this is all just words. Until a DNA test is conducted, neither of them will really know the truth. For Ross, star Michael Parr told us that his character absolutely doesn't believe what Charity is saying about the pregnancy: 'I think he's desperate to find out the answer because it comes with such responsibility, having another child, it's a lot of pressure on him because he's not doing so well with work right now and his living situation isn't ideal as he's always swapping and changing. 'Plus he's just met his brother Lewis. There's a lot going on for him in his head, so he just needs to get to the bottom of this. So he can get a good night's sleep.' So, what will the outcome be? Is Charity pregnant with Ross' baby? And if so, could she lie to Jacob and Sarah for nine months and allow them to believe they're about to become parents? Things were already pretty complicated but now, after this, everything has suddenly got incredibly messy. Let's not forget that if Ross is the father of the baby, it will create even more problems for Charity and Mackenzie, who has always wanted more children. 'There are so many emotions going on which again, you know puts more of a spotlight onto Charity's awful secret and dilemma', Emma Atkins said. 'The situation was awful to begin with as it began with poor Sarah's position. It's so sad for Sarah as her situation is awful. She so wanted a child but can't physically have one. And in real life there are poor girls in that situation with cervical cancer or who have had to have a hysterectomy. More Trending 'So Charity had good intentions initially to help Sarah in her plight to have a child but now it's clashing with the awful situation she's in. The fact Mack is now so upset as he and Charity lost a baby and it was Mack's dream was to have a child with Charity but Charity told him way back when that it wasn't going to happen. She added: 'She wasn't going to go down that route again. But now she has but for someone else. He's rightfully hurt by this although wanting to support her.' 'There are just so many layers to this story. So Charity had thought she had closed the door on having another child and that prospect killed Mackenzie in many ways – she was aware of that so Charity now holds all that guilt. Of how he is feeling. View More » 'And now this new situation so this all comes back up to haunt her and it's just a sort of whirlpool of awfulness. And what will she do?.'
