Kendrick Lamar's dominance on the global charts has reached another historic milestone. The Compton rapper has officially crossed 50 billion streams on Spotify across all credits, making him only the fifth rapper ever to achieve the feat.
With this, Kendrick joins the elite league of Drake, Travis Scott, Eminem, and Kanye West, cementing his place among the most streamed rappers in history.
Here's how the Spotify streaming leaderboard for rappers currently stands: Drake — 119B
Travis Scott — 59B
Eminem — 58B
Kanye West — 58B
Kendrick Lamar — 50B
This milestone comes at the peak of what many consider one of the greatest two-year stretches ever for a rapper. Following his headline-making feud with Drake, Kendrick delivered the Grammy-winning anthem 'Not Like Us' and the critically acclaimed GNX project. He also performed at the Super Bowl and headlined one of the most successful tours in hip-hop history.
The achievement further solidifies Lamar's reputation as one of rap's most impactful and enduring figures.

White House slams Jack White for calling Trump Oval Office ‘gaudy'

The White House blasted former White Stripes frontman Jack White as a 'washed-up, has-been loser' after the Grammy winner insulted President Trump's golden Oval Office makeover this week. 'Jack White is a washed-up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media because he clearly has ample time on his hands due to his stalled career,' White House spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement to The Daily Beast after White remarked online that the Oval's new golden accents are 'gaudy' and 'vulgar.' 'It's apparent [White]'s been masquerading as a real artist, because he fails to appreciate, and quite frankly disrespects, the splendor and significance of the Oval Office inside of 'The People's House,'' Cheung continued. White, a frequent Trump critic, had posted a photo on Instagram on Tuesday from Trump's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House a day earlier. Golden accents, which Trump has steadily added since his return to the White House in January, can be seen all around the two leaders. 'Look at how disgusting [Trump] has transformed the historic White House,' the musician wrote in the caption. 'It's now a vulgar, gold leafed and gaudy, professional wrestler's dressing room. Can't wait for the UFC match on the front lawn too, he's almost fully achieved the movie 'Idiocracy'.' White responded to Cheung's insult with a lengthy follow-up Instagram post Wednesday evening featuring photos of Trump, including one holding a pair of golden signature sneakers, and remarked 'how funny' it was to him that the White House responded to his aesthetic critique and not the other points he's raised against Trump, who he has called a fascist, racist and sexist 'conman,' among other insults. 'No, it wasn't me calling out any of that, it was the f— DECOR OF THE OVAL OFFICE remarks I made that got them to respond with insults. How petty and pathetic and thin skinned could this administration get?' White wrote. White called the White House acknowledgment a 'badge of honor,' and joked that the particular dig that he is 'masquerading as a real artist' should be engraved on his tombstone. 'Being insulted by the actual White House that this particular conman leads is a badge of honor to me, because anyone who [Trump] supports and likes is a villain who gives nothing to their fellow man, only takes what can benefit themselves,' he wrote. The White House didn't immediately respond to The Hill's request for comment on the simmering feud or confirmation of Cheung's initial slam. White has repeatedly taken aim at Trump and his supporters. White wrote in a 2023 Instagram post that he was disgusted by anyone who attempts to 'normalize' Trump, and the White Stripes sued the Trump campaign last year over its use of the band's hit 'Seven Nation Army' in a social media post. The lawsuit was later dropped after the video was removed.

Drake & Adin Ross To Pay For French Streamer's Funeral After His 'Absolutely Horrific' Death

Source: Carmen Mandato / Getty Drake and controversial streamer Adin Ross are linking up once again to give back. This time, they're offering to pay for the funeral costs for Jean Pormanove, a French streamer whose real name is Raphaël Graven. The 46-year-old was found dead on Monday, August 18, while he was in the middle of a 10-day stream. Once Ross found out, he took to social media with a vengeance and promised to aid Pormanove's family. 'This is horrible and disgusting. Whoever was apart of this deserves to face severe consequences,' Ross wrote. 'I just spoke with Drake. Drake and I will be covering the funeral costs, this won't bring his life back, it's the least we can do. Prayers go out to Jean's family.' Ross' tweet implied that Pormanove's death was due to wrongdoing, but French newspaper Le Parisien has shut down the rumor and will conduct an investigation. We care about your data. See our privacy policy. 'At this stage, there is nothing suspicious, interviews are underway, and an autopsy will be performed,' the prosecutor's office in Nice wrote in a statement to the outlet. Le Parisien also said that hours before his death, a video of a lifeless man resembling him made the rounds on social media. According to People , his brother asked people not to share the video. 'I ask you all to respect his memory and not share the video of his last breath in his sleep,' wrote Graven in a translated post to his Instagram Stories. 'My brother, my sidekick, my partner, six years side by side, without ever letting go, I love you, my brother, and we will miss you terribly.' Pormanove racked up over 500,000 subscribers across all his platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, and Kick. He was known for his extreme pranks and sleep deprivation videos, where other streamers would concoct wild ideas to keep him awake, like oil being poured on him and shot at with a paintball gun. According to France's junior minister for AI and digital technology, Clara Chappaz, authorities are aware of the humiliating skits he did for content and wrote on X that 'The death of Jean Pormanove and the violence he suffered are absolutely horrific.' Streaming platform Kick also released a statement regarding his death. 'Our priority is to protect creators and ensure a safer environment on Kick,' the company wrote on X. 'All co-streamers who participated in this live broadcast have been banned pending the ongoing investigation.' See social media's reaction to the death in the streaming community below. NFL Legend Rob Gronkowski Pushes Back on 'Dumb Jock' Reputation

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Rob Gronkowski was one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, and some would say no player who ever played his position was better than him. Playing alongside legendary quarterback Tom Brady for his entire 11-year career, Gronkowski won four Super Bowl championships and was named to the Pro Bowl five times. Along the way, he gained a reputation for being a somewhat dim-witted party animal off the field. His "Gronk Spike" celebration became iconic, and his outsized personality made him one of the more recognizable and popular NFL players among the general public. Now an analyst for Fox's telecast of NFL games, Gronkowski has admitted that he "played into" his "dumb jock" persona at times. "People thought I was just a dumb jock, and it's been like that throughout my entire life," he says, per Forbes. "Sometimes it takes me a little bit longer to figure things out as well, but I always know what's going on around me. So I played into that character sometimes—not all times, but when it was necessary." Photo byfor Fanatics He has accumulated many endorsements and business deals over the years, to the point that, according to Forbes, he earns at least $10 million from such deals before fees due to agents and lawyers. In fact, he has chosen not to spend any of the money he has earned from his NFL contracts. He has instead lived off his endorsement money, and he lives just about as frugally as many of the working-class fans who cheered for him from the stands or their homes. Gronkowski put all of his financial status into motion by leveraging his one-of-a-kind athleticism and physicality. At 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, he had the blocking power of an elite offensive lineman, but he also possessed just enough finesse to haul in imperfect passes, not to mention high-level speed. He was also an intelligent player, and he was regarded as a positive influence on his teammates. He started the "Gronk Nation Youth Foundation" to encourage kids to live an active lifestyle, do well in school and accomplish their dreams. He has also participated in the Make-A-Wish Foundation and launched a partnership that helped raise awareness about valley fever in household pets. That's not exactly the type of profile one would expect from someone whom some have dismissed as a modern-day macho caveman. For more general NFL news, head over to Newsweek Sports.
