KYF graduates 534 at 26th convocation, boosts TVET talent
The graduates were awarded the Malaysian Skills Diploma and Malaysian Skills Certificate in fields such as Food Preparation, Pastry and Bakery Management, and Administrative Management.
Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek highlighted the significance of this year's event, coinciding with the Mega 3 Dimensi Carnival (KM3D).
'KM3D combines Felda Settlers Day, the Rural Entrepreneur Carnival, and the One District One Industry Showcase, showcasing the synergy between education, entrepreneurship, and rural industrial heritage,' he said.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi officiated the ceremony. Ahmad Shabery emphasised KYF's role as a TVET-focused institution, offering industry-aligned programmes to produce skilled graduates.
'KYF provides full-time courses, Academy in Industry collaborations, and modular programmes to widen access to skills education,' he added.
Since its establishment, Felda has driven social mobility and education in rural communities.
'Felda isn't just about land development—it nurtures minds through knowledge and talent,' Ahmad Shabery noted.
To date, 31,633 KYF graduates have entered the workforce across various sectors. - Bernama

Strategic Framework And National Care Action Plan Now In Final Phase
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- The Strategic Framework and Care Action Plan in Malaysia 2026-2030, currently being developed by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), is now in its final stage of preparation. Its Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said that various engagement sessions have been held to ensure the plan aligns with the country's current and long-term needs, including the National Ageing Action Plan 2025-2045, which is currently being drafted. 'One of the key areas KPWKM will focus on is the establishment of an efficient and sustainable long-term care (LTC) service ecosystem. 'At the same time, the ministry is also planning to launch the National Action Plan for Senior Citizens 2026-2030, which will include elements such as safety and protection, lifelong learning, and intergenerational engagement and cohesion,' she said during the question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat today. She was responding to a question from Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (PH-Gombak), who asked the ministry to state the number of informal workers registered in the care economy sector and the ministry's policies and preparations to address an ageing population. Commenting on the number of informal workers in the care economy sector, Nancy said currently, no official data has been collected on care services provided by either formal or informal carers in the country. However, she said data collection on care services will be one of the core components of the Strategic Framework and Care Action Plan 2026-2030. 'For the record, to date, KPWKM has recorded a total of 6,744 individuals who hold the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) in Care and Community Services, while another 43,869 individuals possess professional skills in child care. 'These individuals have the skills and qualifications to offer formal care services,' she said.

Felda to consult PMD on RM100,000 allocation for land scheme villages
KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) will consult the Prime Minister's Department to determine the best approach for distributing the RM100,000 allocation to each village in its land schemes, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday. Its chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the move aims to ensure the funds are distributed efficiently and achieve the government's objectives. "We will refer to PMD to establish the appropriate criteria for recipients to ensure that the assistance is properly utilised and achieves the intended goals," he said. He said the allocation would be tailored to the needs of individual villages, some of which have Land Scheme Working Committees (JKTR), cooperatives, or youth councils. Ahmad Shabery said this to reporters after launching the Felda Robo and Novate 2025 programme, themed 'Young Innovators, Global Future,' at the Mega 3D Carnival (MK3D) 2025 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec). Also present was Felda director-general Datuk Dr Suzana Idayu Wati Osman. Yesterday, Anwar announced the RM100,000 allocation for each village under Felda to fund development projects decided by the local residents. This initiative aligns with the Madani government's focus on consultation and empowering the people. Regarding the delisting of FGV Holdings Bhd (FGV) from Bursa Malaysia, Ahmad Shabery said it should not be viewed negatively. He said delisting will allow for a restructuring of the company without being constrained by the regulations governing public companies, ultimately enabling Felda to fully own FGV and run welfare activities for settlers more effectively. Anwar had earlier confirmed that Felda would have control over FGV's direction once the delisting process is completed, which will begin on August 28.

MK3D carnival draws 2.1 million visitors, hits RM6.9mil in sales
KUALA LUMPUR: The 2025 Mega 3D Carnival (MK3D), held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) since last Wednesday, has not only achieved its main objective but also gained recognition with seven entries in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR). Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) deputy director-general (Community Development) Datuk Mohd Banuri Aris said the carnival, which brought together over 1,000 rural entrepreneurs, had successfully attracted 2.1 million visitors from Wednesday until 5pm today, surpassing the initial target of two million. He said MK3D, organised through a strategic collaboration between Felda, the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW), and the Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Ministry (Kuskop), also surpassed its RM6 million cash sales target, recording RM6.9 million in transactions over five days. "We are also targeting around RM209 million in business matching. As of 5 pm today, we have achieved around RM200 million, and we are confident the amount will continue to rise before the final count tonight. "This indicates the targets set by the three-dimensional teams have been achieved, making this carnival a fresh milestone in our planning to ensure the sustainability of Bumiputera entrepreneurs under KKDW, the One District One Industry (SDSI) Showcase, and Felda," he told a press conference here today. Mohd Banuri said the collaboration between the three agencies had positively contributed to the growth of the entrepreneurial and green economy in planned and rural areas, adding that MK3D had the potential to achieve even greater success if held again in the future. "Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yesterday proposed that the programme be held again to provide more opportunities for Bumiputera entrepreneurs to participate. "Insya-Allah, it may be organised in conjunction with the 70th Felda Settlers' Day celebration in early July next year. "MK3D adds value to programmes that were previously organised separately, while also serving as a platform for entrepreneurs to take a new step towards wider, global advancement," he said. The carnival also saw 57 people come together this afternoon in a jaw-dropping feat to pull a 13-tonne bus over 20 metres, earning an MBOR recognition for the Most Participants in a Bus Pulling Challenge. The record was among six MBOR achievements by Felda in conjunction with MK3D, which also included the first synchronised orchestral performance involving 735 musicians and the largest-ever carom competition with over 1,400 players.
