Children ask beauty queens about overcoming adversity, ambition and what it takes to become a Miss World
The highlight of the morning was the personal interactions between the children and the beauty queens, who come from countries across the globe. As the contestants sat down to share a meal and heartfelt conversations, children hailing from different parts of Telangana asked questions about ambition, overcoming adversity, and what it takes to become a Miss World.
'Life will be hard, there will be hurdles, we have to keep taking on challenges one step at a time,' said reigning Miss World Krystyna Pyszkova, who encouraged the children to believe in themselves and value education. Julia Morley, chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, echoed the sentiment, saying education is the single most powerful tool to transform their futures.
Miss India 2023, Nandini Gupta, offered words of comfort and belonging to the children by saying 'You are not orphans, we are your family, Miss World is your family.'
The event was not just a one-day celebration. In an announcement, Fortune Hospitality committed to a one-year sponsorship for the 200 children, ensuring they receive comprehensive care that includes educational support, nutrition, clothing, and personal essentials. Each child during the event was handed over a bag consisting of school kits, protein supplements, digital watches, toys, and trolley bags for their belongings. The initiative will also fund the complete renovation of the Victoria Memorial Home, creating a more nurturing and dignified space for its young residents.
'This isn't charity, this is commitment. Together with the Miss World Organisation, we aim to give these children not just hope, but a real opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive,' said Mr. Ramakrishna, managing director of Fortune Hospitality.
