
RCMP seek public's help in locating Halifax man wanted on arrest warrant
Police in Halifax are looking for information on the whereabouts of a man wanted on a provincewide arrest warrant.
Halifax Regional RCMP says Edward James Schijns, 41, is believed to be in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Police say Schijns is wanted and facing charges of:
being at large on a release order
failure to comply with condition (three counts)
fraud
The 41-year-old is originally from Halifax. He is described as five-foot-six and 123 pounds with blue eyes and is bald.

Two dead after collision in Cocagne: N.B. RCMP

(CTV Atlantic / Callum Smith) A 62-year-old man from Tracadie, N.B., and a 31-year-old man from Stymiest, N.B., have died following a two-vehicle collision in Cocagne, N.B. Police say officers received a crash notification from a cellphone, indicating a motor vehicle incident had occurred on the bridge crossing the Cocagne River, on Route 11 on Friday around 2:15 a.m. A short time later, an individual called 911 to report the collision. When officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed a head-on collision had occurred, and the drivers of each of the two vehicles died at the scene as a result of their injuries, according to a release from the RCMP. One passenger was transported to hospital with what police believe to be serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene along with members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the Cocagne and Saint-Antoine fire departments, and the New Brunswick Coroner's Office. Gatineau, Que. police investigating shooting in Hull

Police in Gatineau, Que. say no one was reported hurt after someone allegedly fired a gun toward a house in Hull early Friday morning. Police were called to rue Lambert near boulevard Fournier at around 6 a.m. after several people called 9-1-1 reporting a gunshot. Police arrested a suspect nearby a short time later. No charges have been announced. Several officers will be on scene Friday for the investigation, police said, and residents have been asked to avoid the area.
