When it comes to competing in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, Simone Biles isn't ruling it out just yet.

The seven-time Olympic gold medalist, 28, opened up about the topic while discussing her Simone Biles Rising docuseries at Netflix's FYC event alongside executive producer and director Katie Walsh in Hollywood on Monday, June 2.

'I think it's such a blessing that [the] L.A. 2028 Olympics are here,' she told the crowd when asked about the potential of her competing. 'I'm not sure at what capacity [I'll be involved] because if we've learned anything from the docuseries, it's that your mind and your body have to be in sync.'
The gymnast continued: 'I am currently taking a little bit of time off to 1: Support my husband [Jonathan Owens], and 2: To just take time off because what we put our bodies through on the mat is a lot. It's physically taxing, and at my old age... I'm 28. For a gymnast, that's old! I started at like, 4! But I do believe that I will be in L.A. — I'm just not sure at what capacity yet, if that's on the mat or in the stands. But I'd be more than happy to attend in any way that I can."

Biles last competed for Team USA at the 2024 Games in Paris. In total, she has 11 Olympic medals: seven gold, two silver and two bronze. She is also the most decorated gymnast in World Championships history with 30 medals: 23 gold, four silver and three bronze.

The athlete previously teased that she would be in Los Angeles for the upcoming games when she dropped by Today on Jan. 10 to surprise Hoda Kotb on her last day with the morning broadcast.
While chatting with Kotb on her final show, Biles told the beloved journalist, who has already confirmed that she will cover the L.A. and Milan Olympic games for NBC, 'Hopefully we're in L.A. together, whatever that means.'

While Biles did not elaborate further, Kotb joked, "We broke news on my last day!"

That time not only set a new record for the 15-16 age group, but also broke a record for the 17-18 age group. He swam the event in 1:45.92, breaking the record in the 15-16 age group. That figure also broke the record in the 17-18 age group, which was previously held by Phelps. The sky appears to be the limit for Mijatovic, who is considered the top high-school swimmer in California. Mijatovic was already a name to watch for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. His performance at the U.S. Nationals — which began Tuesday — further solidified his status as an Olympic-hopeful. The 2025 U.S. Swimming Championships will run through Saturday at the Indiana University Natatorium. A number of Americans, including Katie Ledecky and Bobby Finke, have turned in fantastic performances at the event. Winners of individual events will qualify for the World Championships in July and August.

Meanwhile, the mandolin was a vintage 1966 Gibson EM-50 played by . After obtaining surveillance footage of the May 30 theft, investigators identified Bennett as the suspect. He was caught on camera walking in Atlantic City attempting to sell the instruments, police said. Bennett was charged with burglary and theft on June 4. Bennett has an extensive criminal record and was most recently arrested in April 2025 for a burglary. According to police, Bennett successfully sold one of the instruments. Law enforcement urged anyone in possession of it to contact Atlantic City Police and surrender the property; they will be arrested and charged for receiving stolen property if they don't do so. 'These instruments are more than just tools of our trade—they're extensions of our musical souls,' Wilson in a statement. 'The baritone Tele was made uniquely for me, and Paul's mandolin has been with him for decades. We're heartbroken, and we're asking for their safe return—no questions asked. Q, the Matthew Goode-fronted Scottish thriller that dropped May 29, just two days shy of the eligibility cutoff for this year's Emmys, is being submitted in the Drama Series categories. The acclaimed nine-episode mystery from Queen's Gambit auteur Scott Frank enters a crowded field that includes Severance, The Pitt, The White Lotus, The Last of Us and Netflix's own The Diplomat. Q, based on the book series by Danish writer Jussi Adler-Olsen, centers on a cranky Edinburgh detective (played by Good Wife alum Goode) who sets out solve a cold case involving a missing prosecutor (played by Queen's Gambit alum Chloe Pirrie). In addition to possibly playing spoiler in the Outstanding Drama Series contest, Dept. Q is poised to be a contender in the acting races as well. A Netflix rep confirms to TVLine that Goode and Pirrie will be competing in the Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Lead Actress in a Drama Series categories, respectively.
