Why isn't the 2025 Indy 500 on NBC?
It's once again time for the most prestigious event in IndyCar Series racing as the Indianapolis 500 at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway is set for Sunday afternoon.
INDY 500 ODDS: Josef Newgarden's Indy 500 three-peat odds got a boost, but he's still not the favorite
However, if you are trying to watch the race on television, you may be surprised to see it's not being broadcast on NBC, as it has been for the past six years. For the first time, this year's Indy 500 will air on Fox Sports after the network bought the television rights to all IndyCar events, including the Indy 500.
Despite the change in network, the race will be covered by many of the same on-air personalities that fans are used to. Will Buxton replaces Leigh Diffey as the lap-by-lap announcer, but Townsend Bell and James Hinchliffe return as color commentators, as does Kevin Lee as a pit reporter.
It should be a fairly familiar experience for IndyCar fans, but there are sure to be some noticeable differences as a new network takes over for the Indy 500 in Speedway, Indiana.
What time does the 2025 Indy 500 start?
The 2025 Indy 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 25 with the green flag set to fly at 12:45 p.m. ET. With Fox as the broadcaster, pre-race coverage begins at 10 a.m. ET.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey undergoes surgery, could miss start of 2025-26 season

Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey has sprained his left ankle again, and the team said Saturday that the All-Rookie team selection will need surgery. The Grizzlies said the 7-foot-3 Edey was working out this week when he injured the ankle again. Imaging revealed excessive ligamentous laxity, which will be addressed with surgery that will also restabilize his ankle. The two-time National Player of the Year at Purdue missed 12 games early in the season because of a sprained left ankle. He went on to play in 66 games, making 55 starts, and averaged 9.2 points and a rookie-leading 8.3 rebounds. The Grizzlies said a preliminary timeline for recovery will be provided after surgery and that Edey is expected to make a full recovery. Reporting by The Associated Press. Belmont Stakes 2025 live updates: Horses, post time, odds, payouts and more as Sovereignty, Journalism take the track

The 2025 Belmont Stakes will be held at Saratoga Race Course for the second consecutive year as Belmont Park undergoes renovations. (Photo by) There will be no Triple Crown in 2025, but there's still plenty of incentive to tune into the 2025 Belmont Stakes. The third and final leg of the Triple Crown will take place at the Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York, for the second consecutive year as Belmont Park undergoes renovations. The 1.5-mile race will feature racehorses Sovereignty and Journalism, the winners of the 2025 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, respectively. Journalism had been the odds favorite (4-1) heading into the Derby, while Sovereignty entered the race at 9-1 odds, but Sovereignty gained the edge in the final moments on the muddy Churchill Downs track. Advertisement Unfortunately, Sovereignty was pulled from the Preakness Stakes following his stunning victory, so there was no Triple Crown up for grabs, and Journalism went on to stake his claim to victory in the Preakness with a come-from-behind win. Now, Sovereignty and Journalism go toe-to-toe in a rematch, along with six other competitors in the field.
