Geely appoints new chair of European business, replacing founder Eric Li
Danish business veteran Lone Fonss Schroder will take the helm at Geely Sweden Holding's board, which oversees the Chinese group's European businesses, Geely said, without elaborating on the reason for the switch.
She replaces Li, also known as Li Shufu and Geely's top shareholder. Li is also the chair of Volvo Cars.
Last year, Li urged a greater strategic focus at Geely to improve synergies and eliminate internal competition.
So far, that has involved merging teams and restructuring some of its brands such as Zeekr, Geely Auto and Lynk & Co, and moving or axing executives and board members at Swedish brands Volvo Cars and Polestar.
Loss-making Polestar, where Li is majority owner via Geely Sweden and private holdings, will also replace two Geely board members at a June 30 shareholder meeting.
Schroder will step down from the board of Volvo Cars, where she has been a member since 2010, and instead take a seat on the carmaker's nomination committee in charge of board appointments.
Former Volvo Cars CEO Hakan Samuelsson was unexpectedly brought back to run Volvo in March at a turbulent time for the carmaker marked by tariff pressures and market uncertainty.

Investors are betting that AI will transform the global economy, and last month Nvidia -- the world's leading semiconductor producer -- became the first company ever to hit $4 trillion in market value. The California-based firm has, however, become entangled in trade tensions between China and the United States, which are waging a heated battle for dominance to produce the chips that power AI. The Trump administration had not issued licenses to allow Nvidia to sell the chips before the reported White House meeting. On Friday, however, the Commerce Department started granting the licenses for chip sales, the reports said. Silicon Valley-based Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) will also pay 15 percent of revenue on Chinese sales of its MI308 chips, which it was previously barred from exporting to the country. The deal could earn the US government more than $2 billion, according to the New York Times report. The move comes as the Trump administration has been imposing stiff tariffs, with goals varying from addressing US trade imbalances, wanting to reshore manufacturing and pressuring foreign governments to change policies.

Wraps coming off LDV Terron 9 at Kyalami Festival of Motoring
Chinese automaker's flagship bakkie will have three trim levels and power from a new 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine. Having made steady progress into the local market since its formal launch last year, LDV has released select details of its incoming Terron 9 flagship bakkie. Confirmed to make its public debut at the Kyalami Festival of Motoring at the end of this month, the Terron 9 will slot-in above the T60, and compete in the more premium bakkie segment against the likes of the Ford Ranger Platinum, Volkswagen Amarok and GWM P500. Stickered in Australia at the end of June, the South African-spec Terron 9 will be made available in three trim levels; Elite, Luxury and Premium, all powered by LDV's in-house developed 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine. While no details surrounding the engine's specifications was divulged, Down Under, the mill develops 163kW/520Nm, which goes to the rear or all four wheels through a new eight-speed automatic gearbox. Due out later, the Terron 9 will also offer an electric version, the eTerron 9, which debuted under the Maxus nameplate at the Nampo Agricultural Expo in Bothaville in the Free State in May. of Dimensionally, the Terron 9 has an overall length of 5 500 mm, wheelbase of 3 300 mm, height of 1 874 mm and width of 1 997 mm. Its claimed ground clearance is 220 mm, tow rating 3 500 kg and payload between 1 005 kg and 1 100 kg based on the Australian-market variant. Able to ford 500 mm, the Terron 9 has an approach angle of 29-degrees, breakover angle of 20-degree and departure angle of 25-degrees. In Australia, where two trim grades are offered, the Terron 9's specification sheet includes 18 or 20-inch alloy wheels, a four-speaker or eight-speaker JBL sound system, dual 12.3-inch displays, ambient lighting, a rubberised loadbin, rain sense wipers, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, bi-LED headlights, up to two diff-locks and heated rear seats. Safety comes via a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitor, Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Safe Exit Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Trailer Reverse, Lane Departure Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition. Although priced from the equivalent of between R591 834 and R649 868 in Australia, speculation has hinted at the Terron 9 possibly having a starting sticker around R820 000 to R850 000 based on the T60's stickers ranging from R480 000 to R790 000.
