Brochure on education mega fair released
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the institute, Dr Shaik Nyamatulla Basha, said that they have been organising the Mega Education Fair for 21 years, to create awareness among the students and their parents on the options in engineering, medicine, and conventional degree programmes. He said that apart from the explanation of the procedure of web counselling, they also conduct career guidance and provide information on other special courses available for them. Nyamatulla announced that collector Ansariya, former DGP KRM Kishore Kumar, vice chancellors of prestigious universities, principals, directors, and professors from several well-known colleges, and officers from several banks will also attend the mega fair and clarify the doubts of the students and their parents.
He said that the interested students and parents can get a seat in the institutions through spot admissions, or forward the application for the education loan at a special concession in the rate of interest. He said that the students who wish to attend the fair can call the executive on 8019479999 and collect their entry passes and bus passes at their institute.

Govt committed to tribal welfare: Collector
Nandyal: The State government remains steadfast in its commitment to the welfare and development of tribal communities, asserted district Collector G Raja Kumari. Speaking at a programme at the Collectorate on Saturday on World Tribal Day, she emphasised that the government is extending all necessary support to improve the living standards and opportunities of tribal people. The Collector stated that the district currently has 13 ashram schools and nine tribal welfare hostels, managed under the supervision of the ITDA and the Tribal Welfare Officer. Continuous efforts are being made to provide adequate infrastructure to these institutions, she said. Parents in Chenchu habitations were urged to ensure their children attend school regularly and are encouraged to focus on subjects and skills of their interest, thereby enhancing their future prospects. She further advised parents to consider marriage only after their children complete higher education, stressing the district administration's ongoing efforts to eradicate child marriage. Highlighting the government's health initiatives, the Collector said regular medical camps are being organised in Chenchu habitations to safeguard the health of tribal residents. Officials visiting these areas are tasked with raising awareness against harmful addictions and educating the community on ways to improve their livelihoods. She added that the government is extending livelihood support and making people aware of the available welfare schemes. Particularly for Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in Chenchu habitations, the Central government has sanctioned Rs 1.8 lakh per house for construction, with the State government contributing an additional Rs 1 lakh. Permissions have been granted for the construction of 600 houses under the PM Janman programme, and tribal leaders have been urged to actively facilitate the process. Earlier, the Collector inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp along with tribal leaders. Cultural performances by children in traditional tribal attire enthralled the audience. Tribal association representatives used the occasion to present their concerns and highlight the significance of World Tribal Day. The Collector honoured tribal leaders working for community welfare with shawls and mementoes in recognition of their contributions.

50 dropouts admitted in colleges in Tirunelveli district
The spot admission organised here on Friday by District Collector R. Sukumar to ensure the continued higher studies of the students after Plus Two brought 50 possible dropouts back to educational stream. After the Plus Two results were declared, the Collector established a Career Guidance and Counselling Centre at the Collectorate. The experts and the teachers manning this Centre were guiding and counselling the students for getting admission in the courses and the colleges of their choice based on the marks they had scored. Meanwhile, the Collector also asked the teachers handling Plus Two to collect details about their students who have got admission in the college and the course they had joined. After collecting this information, the teachers shared it with the Chief Educational Officer Sivakumar and the Career Guidance and Counselling Centre at the Collectorate so that the dropouts could easily be identified. The dropouts and their parents or guardians were contacted over the phone to pinpoint the reason behind their children becoming dropout. If it was due to poverty, Mr. Sukumar arranged for funds from the philanthropists, major hospitals, private firms to pay the tuition fee. If they could not get admission in a college or course of their choice due to low marks, they were counselled about the alternative courses they can join and the future prospects if they can do well. In the first phase, a 'spot admission' programme was organised at the Collectorate to ensure admission for the dropouts. While the poor students were helped financially, others' admission in the colleges were facilitated with the help of the heads of the colleges. Since the Plus Two students who had appeared for the supplementary examinations were waiting for admission in the colleges, the second 'spot admission' event was organised on Friday in which representatives from two government, 10 government-aided and 12 self-finance colleges participated. 'Of the 55 students attended this programme, 50 students got admission in the colleges,' said officials of Department of School Education. When a poor girl student, who had lost her parents to cancer, participated in the 'spot admission' programme, Mr. Sukumar got her admission in Zoology in Rani Anna Government College for Women, Pettai, here and immediately sanctioned ₹10,000 from the Collector's Discretionary Funds to pay the tuition, hostel fees and uniform.

Govt teachers extend Rs 50k financial aid to meritorious student
Nandyal: As part of the P4 (People's Participation for Progress) initiative, government teacher mentors have come forward to support a deserving student from an underprivileged family by extending financial assistance of Rs 50,000 towards his hostel fee. The cheque was formally handed over by District Collector G Raja Kumari at the Collectorate, in the presence of the student and his parents on Tuesday. As per the statement of the district Collector the beneficiary, M Rohan Sai, hails from a poor goldsmith family residing in Kranti Nagar, Bommala Satram, Nandyal town. His father, Marella Ramesh Naidu, has been rendered jobless due to paralysis, while his mother works as a sweeper at a local temple to sustain the family. Despite severe financial hardship, Rohan excelled in academics, securing 94% in his Polytechnic Diploma and successfully clearing the 2025 EAMCET. He was admitted on a merit basis into the second year of at MVR Engineering College, Vizianagaram. However, an annual hostel fee of Rs 50,000 remained a significant burden on the family. Moved by the student's dedication and academic performance, government teachers K Sambasivudu and K Shivakumari, serving as Headmaster at MPPS Nereducherla and Teacher at MPPS Madduru, respectively, voluntarily stepped forward as mentors to adopt the student. They provided the required financial support and assured continued assistance for his hostel fees throughout his course. Appreciating their noble gesture, G Raja Kumari stated that such voluntary support is inspirational and urged financially capable individuals in society to come forward to adopt students from economically weaker backgrounds. She stated that collective efforts through such initiatives can significantly uplift marginalised communities. The event was attended by the donor teachers, the student's family, and other officials.
