Govt teachers extend Rs 50k financial aid to meritorious student
As per the statement of the district Collector the beneficiary, M Rohan Sai, hails from a poor goldsmith family residing in Kranti Nagar, Bommala Satram, Nandyal town. His father, Marella Ramesh Naidu, has been rendered jobless due to paralysis, while his mother works as a sweeper at a local temple to sustain the family.
Despite severe financial hardship, Rohan excelled in academics, securing 94% in his Polytechnic Diploma and successfully clearing the 2025 EAMCET.
He was admitted on a merit basis into the second year of B.Tech at MVR Engineering College, Vizianagaram. However, an annual hostel fee of Rs 50,000 remained a significant burden on the family.
Moved by the student's dedication and academic performance, government teachers K Sambasivudu and K Shivakumari, serving as Headmaster at MPPS Nereducherla and Teacher at MPPS Madduru, respectively, voluntarily stepped forward as mentors to adopt the student. They provided the required financial support and assured continued assistance for his hostel fees throughout his B.Tech course.
Appreciating their noble gesture, G Raja Kumari stated that such voluntary support is inspirational and urged financially capable individuals in society to come forward to adopt students from economically weaker backgrounds.
She stated that collective efforts through such initiatives can significantly uplift marginalised communities.
The event was attended by the donor teachers, the student's family, and other officials.

Thanks to the canal, our borewell was recharged with plenty of water. Now, we are getting a mango yield of 15-20 dozen per day, and our minimum revenue is Rs 10,000 per day. As many as 7-8 family members work on the farm, and this number increases on weekends. We have tied up with a private courier to send mango boxes as per the demand. As of now, we have a base of retail customers from Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, and Vijayapura," he stated. He is using Jeevamruta and vermicompost to make the fruits free from chemicals. New Delhi: The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, in collaboration with the Forest and Environment Department, Government of Gujarat, will celebrate World Lion Day – 2025 on August 10, 2025, at Barda Wildlife Sanctuary, Devbhumi Dwarka district, Gujarat. World Lion Day, celebrated annually on August 10, aims to raise awareness about the conservation and protection of lions worldwide. In Gujarat, the Asiatic Lion is a unique ecological and cultural treasure, found only in the Saurashtra region. The grand celebrations of 'World Lion Day' will be organised on August 10 across 11 districts of Saurashtra, Gujarat, to promote awareness about the conservation and protection of the 'King of the Jungle'—the Asiatic Lion. These majestic animals roam freely in their natural habitat across approximately 35,000 sq. km in 11 districts of Saurashtra. The lion population in Gujarat has increased by 32% since 2020, rising from 674 in 2020 to 891 as per the May 2025 lion population estimation. The Barda Wildlife Sanctuary spans 192.31 sq. km across Porbandar and Devbhumi Dwarka districts. Barda is emerging as a second home for Asiatic Lions. After the natural migration of lions to the area in 2023, the lion population has grown to 17, including 6 adults and 11 cubs. The sanctuary is a significant biodiversity hotspot and a key area for the conservation of Asiatic Lions. Being in the vicinity of the Dwarka- Porbandar-Somnath tourist circuit, the Barda area holds a significant tourism potential. A safari park in about 248 Ha area is planned to be initiated for which land have been allocated by the State Government. Wildlife conservation works amounting to about Rs 180.00 crore will also be launched at the event. The event will also be joined through satellite communication by the lakhs of students from the schools and colleges across the 11 districts of the Greater Gir Lion Landscape.
