Vintage glamour is all about glamour, drama, and tons of confidence. Here's a look at how some celebrities have nailed this aesthetic with panache.
Manushi Chhillar always knows how to strike the perfect balance between glam and ethereal charm with her stunning looks. Right from her makeup to the outfit choices, she's always manages to turn heads with her jaw-dropping looks. For her recent look, the actress channelled vintage beauty, much like some of the finest Hollywood beauties, right from Margot Robbie to everyone's favourite, Sabrina Carpenter.
Margot Robbie
Margot managed to serve looks during Barbie promotions, and we still can't get over it. At the Barbie premiere, she wore a black custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown. Inspired by Barbie's 'Solo in the Spotlight' look from 1960, the shimmer strapless dress came with a tulle hem that looks like a dream. She also added a sheer handkerchief, matching opera gloves and a Lorraine Schwartz diamond choker necklace. That bold red lip and sleek hair completed the look just right.

Manushi Chhillar chose to do a classic perm style curl for her hair and did a silver eyeshadow with a maroon glossy lip, all coming together beautifully. That black structured off-shoulder dress stood out as a unique piece of fashion. The perfectly done eyebrow added that edge to further elevate the vintage makeup, while the black gloves and those golden bangles also added the old-world charm.
Lily Collins
Lily decided to go black and white for the BAFTA red carpet, but it is the floral detailing on the sleeves and the neckline that turned this classic piece into a modern-day beauty. Her hair, meanwhile, was clearly another factor that helped put this look together with the slick back and permed tresses. Once again, the makeup was as glossy and as shiny as it could be, with those silver earrings completing the look just right.

Sabrina has been quite the force to reckon with when it comes to her red carpet looks, and this one from the VMAs is just one for the books. The glossy lips, bangs and loose curls totally looked stunning with that body-fitting shimmer gown she wore. It's the eye makeup that deserves a special mention because it's one element putting this look right in place. She completed the look with a dainty necklace, and she let the outfit shine without going OTT on accessories.

F1 first reactions: Brad Pitt's film hailed as high-octane crowd-pleaser; comparisons drawn to Top Gun Maverick

Brad Pitt's F1 got a mixed response at Comic-Con after dropping a high-octane 10-minute clip. But its first official press screening seems to have flipped the narrative; critics are calling it a full-throttle summer blockbuster with brilliant visuals and addictive energy. Except for a few concerns about whether the film can pull in non-racing fans, it is racking up rave reviews. Critics are praising Joseph Kosinski's film for its technical brilliance. Variety's Clayton Davis gave a shoutout to cinematographer Claudio Miranda and urged the Oscars to 'not do dirty with him again.' Miranda had also worked with Kosinski on Top Gun: Maverick and even earned a BAFTA nomination for it. Some critics are drawing comparisons between the visuals of F1 and Maverick. 'It's Pearce, down the insideeeee' — WOW! @F1Movie is an action-packed, thrilling look at the world of F1 racing, with lots of grit. The sound, score, and cinematography are flawless. Damson Idris and Brad Pitt are great! Absolutely Obsessedddddd,' wrote Jazz Tangcay. Tim Chan wrote, 'Just got out of #F1TheMovie screening: film was more emotional than I had anticipated, Brad Pitt is hotter than ever, soundtrack (with Tate! Roddy! Rosé!) is perfect accompaniment to the race scenes.' Maude Garrett, a journalist with Nerdist and Breakroom, called the movie 'so freaking good' and even wondered if she might've enjoyed it even more had she actually been an F1 fan. Also read: F1 trailer: Brad Pitt plays 'oldtimer' who needs to deal with both his past and a rookie to save his friend's struggling APXGP team In the film, Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a once-celebrated Formula 1 driver who stepped away from racing after a tragic accident. Years later, he's approached to mentor a young racer, played by Damson Idris, who's gearing up for the fictional Apex Grand Prix. The cast also includes Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon. Earlier, in his GQ interview, Pitt opened up about the pressure Formula 1 drivers face, comparing it to the kind of scrutiny movie stars deal with. 'Those guys are so scrutinised, and that sport is so revered, and there are so many of us that think we could do it too, just because we drive a car fast down the freeway or something. They get so much s**t. It is shocking to me. They've got to have thicker skin than even us.' The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and F1 legend Lewis Hamilton, who joined the project as a producer and has been promoting the film alongside Pitt. During a press conference earlier this year, Bruckheimer opened up about how the idea crossed his mind. Kosinski said he became a fan of the sport after watching Netflix's Drive to Survive during the pandemic. 'I loved how the first season of the show focused on the last-place teams, the underdogs, rather than Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, the teams you usually see at the front of the pack,' he said. 'I thought there was an interesting story to be told about an underdog team,' he added. To shoot F1, the team actually followed the real F1 circuit for a year and even received permission to film during actual race weekends, within a tiny window of just 10–15 minutes. They set up over 20 cameras and had to capture everything in a rush before the track opened again. Kosinski added that the crowd is also real, and that they used advanced IMAX cameras, some of which were previously used in Tom Cruise's films. Arun Govil Says No Current Star Can Play Lord Ram: 'Find Someone Outside Bollywood'

Curated By : Yatamanyu Narain Last Updated: June 05, 2025, 19:43 IST Arun Govil questions modern Ramayan retellings and says no current Bollywood actor, including Ranbir Kapoor, is fit to portray Lord Ram. Suggests casting outsider. Arun Govil, the actor revered across generations for his iconic portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, has shared candid thoughts on the many modern attempts to reimagine the epic. Speaking in an interview with NDTV, the actor — now a BJP Member of Parliament from Meerut — expressed deep skepticism about contemporary actors stepping into the sacred role that defined his career and became a cultural cornerstone in Indian television history. 'Three-four people have tried recreating it, but they weren't successful," Govil said. 'I don't think in our lifetime someone should attempt to remake Ramayan. When it comes to playing Ram, none of the stars we have today fit the part in my opinion. Maybe someone from outside the industry might be more suitable." His remarks come during the second phase of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a spiritual and political milestone that echoes the themes of devotion and righteousness long associated with the Ramayan narrative. Govil's portrayal of Lord Ram across 78 episodes from 1987 to 1988 was nothing short of legendary, turning Sunday mornings at 9:30 am on Doordarshan into a near-spiritual ritual for households across India. The show left such a cultural impact that even decades later, attempts to recreate its magic have struggled to find acceptance. His comments also appear to be a subtle critique of recent cinematic interpretations — most notably the 2023 film Adipurush, which cast Prabhas as Ram and faced widespread backlash for its creative liberties and underwhelming execution. The film was a critical and commercial disappointment. Interestingly, Govil's statement arrives just as Ranbir Kapoor gears up to don the role of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's much-anticipated film adaptation of Ramayan. Touted as a two-part cinematic saga, it is scheduled for release on Diwali in 2026 and 2027. While the anticipation around Tiwari's version builds, Arun Govil's words serve as a reminder that when it comes to mythological icons like Lord Ram, audiences expect more than just star power — they seek divinity in performance. Abhishek Bachchan Pulls Off Nora Fatehi's Haye Garmi Hookstep; Amitabh Bachchan Reacts

Curated By : Last Updated: June 05, 2025, 17:35 IST Abhishek Bachchan's Housefull 5 releases on June 6. Abhishek Bachchan returns to comedy with Housefull 5, a film co-starring Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh as male leads. Ahead of the film's release tomorrow, June 6, the makers released a behind-the-scenes glimpse from Laal Pari shoot. Seconds into the video, and you'll see Abhishek pulling off Nora Fatehi's Garmi hookstep from Street Dancer 3D. His father, Amitabh Bachchan, took to X and reacted to the whole BTS clip. The shoot of Laal Pari song from Housefull 5 was a laughter riot. A video from the song's making is going viral on social media ahead of the film's release. However, the catch in the track has to be Abhishek lying on the ground and effortlessly pulling off Nora's tricky Garmi hookstep as the cast and crew cheered on. Akshay added his own flavour to the moment. Taking to X, Abhishek wrote, 'Chaotic? Yes. Glamorous? Definitely Fun? Always. Go behind the scenes of the track that's got everyone grooving! #LaalPari BTS Out Now! #Housefull5 releases in cinemas near you on 6th June 2025! Book your tickets Now!" Watch it here: The video invited a comment from Amitabh Bachchan. Numbering his X post, he wrote, 'T 5402 .. hahaha .. what a fun fun fun … !!!" Meanwhile, Housefull 5 will feature two entirely different climaxes in different theatres. Speaking about it, Sajid Nadiadwala shared, 'With Housefull 5, we wanted to take a bold creative swing that hasn't been done before internationally for any thriller film. The idea of having multiple endings, multiple experiences has been with me for 30 years. Since, i wanted to make Housefull 5 a thriller comedy, there couldn't have been a better way to execute my idea of having multiple endings than this." He added, 'It felt right to do something radical as we celebrate 75 years of Nadiadwala Grandson in the industry. Housefull is India's biggest comedy franchise and for the fifth instalment, we had to push the boundaries of what comedy can be. The idea of different endings came from a simple question: why should the audience always have just one version of the truth in a thriller? With Housefull 5, we've built a film that plays with form while staying completely rooted in entertainment. It's a killer comedy, literally, with twists that change depending on where you're watching it. and I'm proud we're doing it under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson as we mark 75 years in the business. Our legacy has always been about embracing scale, stars, and giving audiences newer experiences and Housefull 5 takes all it to another level." He further mentioned, 'It's a natural extension of the theatrical experience: creating intrigue, rewatch value, and a sense of discovery. In a world of spoilers and algorithms, we're bringing back that element of surprise. And that's where the fun begins." Housefull 5 stars an ensemble of 19 stars, comprising Akshay Kumar, joined by returning favourites and some new faces including Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir. The film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, releases on June 6, 2025. Anindita Mukherjee works as a Senior Sub-Editor in the Entertainment team at News18 Showsha.
